I picked up Resident Evil 5 last Friday. I had a pre-order.
When I bought Star Ocean 4 last month, they pitched me a deal where if I pre-ordered RE5 that day, I could buy the game the ay it came out and within that first week, I could bring it back to them for trade in and I would get all of my money back in store credit.

Gamers tend to dread the post-holiday season. The stretch of time after which you're done with the games you got for christmas and the next wave of shiny comes along.
This got me thinking... Could publishers capitalize on this by lining up some really juicy DLC for existing/popular titles?
I won't pretend to claim this applies for everyone but I enjoy extending my game experience, however if something new and shiny comes out at the same time, I will most likely go for the new stuff.
