Here's my short review of Lost planet :Extreme condition, (lpec) another hyped up fps.

This last season of xbox 360 games has been a season full of hype, some of it true and some of it far from that. GOW turned out to be a really good game, albeit one that was rather short. I never actually completly finished the game. The end boss "Raam" must have killed me about 23 times before i gave up and checked on the internet that Raam was indeed the end of the game.

For the first time in some years i actually have to pay real money again for games. As a pc user, i have always waited a while for the prices of games to come down. A top title will be around 45-50 euro's at introduction. A few months, and sometimes even weeks, later the price drops to around 20-25 euro's. This is a price point i can live with.

Global warming is just great !

Yesterday the temperature reached 19c !, (do your own calculations to what that is in that weirdo fahrenheit thingy you americans have going on).

In Germany there will be no Gears of War (GOW)  release at all. Why is that ?

Well some time ago, to be more precise some 67 years ago, germany started a big thing called the WO2. Was this a good thing ?, no certainly not. Lots of people died including large parts of my Dutch family, who were killed in camps. So after all this Germany decided to not be part of violence ever again. Was this a good thing ? yes it most definitly is. However :

Setting up the system was quite a hassle since i wanted it to look nice in the living room. It meant moving parts of the DSL equipement to the basement and setting up the modem and router in the living room. Getting a good wireless reception on the 2nd floor was also a bit of a problem, but that's not the fault of the 360, but more of the netgear router and nic.

The bad stuff first :

- The 360 white really looks bad on my stack of standard black/silver audio equipement. Also the width of the 360 is non standard. To sum it up; it's ugly.

First posts are all about introductions right ?

- 42 years old, dutch living in Germany, worked in I.T.

- Been playing games since the trs-80, moved via apple, amiga, ps1,ps2,dreamcast and xbox to pc gaming and very recently a xbox 360.

- Looking forward to gaming ALL of you, since i have too much time on my hands !

But first i all have to practice playing gears of war, that i got yesterday with my brand spanking new 360.
