Coffin arrives

The coffin showed up today as well as an email from Xbox customer support. For the record, it took 1 week to get an email and the coffin. I was beyond pissed after reading gwarrior2k's blog, His xbox broke 36 hours after mine and he GOT HIS BACK ALREADY!!! I just got the goddamn coffin TODAY!

WTF!!!

RRoF'nD AGAIN!!!

Yes, the repaired Xbox lasted 8 FREAKIN' DAYS before getting another RRoD. This is complete and utter BULLSHIT! This will be the 3rd time this box has been in service, the most recently being a RRoD also.

This was a weird one. I had booted up to find no profiles and then noticed that the HD was gone. I went to my son's room, retrieved the HD from the spare xbox, plugged it in and got the RRoD upon boot. Removed the HD, still got the RRoD. The HD is fine, I plugged it back into the spare and it works great, I was able to get some Terrorist Hunt in tonight.

RB6V2 - Initial disappointment [corrected]

I fired up the game and went right into Terrorist Hunt to find that Ubisoft has made a HUGE blunder. You cannot choose your weapons for TH the way you were able to in V1. You appear to be stuck with the mp5 and the 552 commando assault rifle.

In V1, this was the case for single player TH but they've now carried this monumental mistake into co-op TH.

IDIOTS!

I WANT MY SCAR BACK!!!

EDITED..

No, there is only one idiot here,ME! I was hitting X to customize. You press A to change weapons. What a bonehead!

No Rainbow 6:Vegas 2 today?

WTF?

For a couple of months we've heard March 18th for the release date of Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 and only today do we find out that "Oh, it's shipping today and will be in the stores tomorrow". Now I know, one day, what's the big deal but I'm calling bullshit on this. The friggin' release date should be the date it is available in the stores.

Open NAT Solution

I figured out a solution for my 2 xboxes not having an open NAT. It's not common knowledge but my ISP's cable modem supports up to 12 external IP addresses. I hooked up my cable modem to a 4 port ethernet switch and connected my two xboxes and my router to the switch. My PCs are connected to the router. After resetting the modem, each xbox got an external IP as did my router. The PCs got internal IPs and are protected from the big bad Internet by the router's firewall. After booting up both xboxes, the network tests both showed an open NAT. WooHoo! Success!

The xbox has landed!

The repaired xbox is back in its place on my desk. Only problem I've seen is that the on/off switch doesn't click, it's just kinda mushy. I'll have to get in the habit of turning it on using the controller.

Now that I've got two xboxes in the house, I am already discovering that I need a dedicated controller just for me. My son takes my controller upstairs to his room to play with his buddies and I don't feel like tracking it down everytime I want to play. That will be another $30 or so and then another rechargable battery. Damn, this is getting more and more expensive....
