It's just a flesh wound

Well, it has finally happened.  I fell off.  Nope, not bucked off, fell off.  But, I got a 8 score for my landing.  No, I'm not hurt other than a nice bruise on my shin and some sore leg muscles.  Friday our trainer had us go outside to the cross country course on the property.  Basically, this is a course of jumps made from barrels, plywood cut outs and some creative painting along some dips and mounds on the ground.  It allows the rider to experience how to jump going up hill and downhill and various types of jump construction.  Why is this important?  Well, how a jump is situated along a pa

Psuedo Spring

Mother Nature is at it again.  She is teasing those of us with cabin fever with the promise of spring.  We had a beautiful Saturday and Sunday started out very warm.  I dressed lightly to clean stalls Sunday morning and anticipated a ride when I finished hoping it would still be warm enough to give my horse a bath.  No such luck.  I finished the stalls after noon and got my ride in and just as I was taking the horse outside to the wash rack, cold drops of liquid began pelting my face.  The temperature had already dropped 10 degrees and the wind was blowing mightily from the west northwest brin

Pining for the fjords...

Glad it's Friday, I'm going home.  This traveling for work is getting old.  I miss my family and office even though I'm never gone long.  Back on Monday and Wednesday.  Looks like my work and project candle will have a flame at both ends in the very near future.
