I can't believe it is almost the end of January and I have sooo slacked off in my blogging.  Although life has not stopped moving along.

With all of the "fun" m$ has bestowed upon us with the trials and tribulations they call Xbox Live, I have not spent a lot of time playing.  My xbox is feeling quite lonely lately.  I've been doing more riding lately and working out of town. 

I'm ashamed to say, but here it is weeks past from Christmas and I have yet to send out my thank you notes.  Yet, the boys sent theirs out almost the next day.  They are getting really good about writing down what they get and from who and then sitting down to write them.  Mom used to do that with us kids.  That is where I got it.  I know I should write them, it is just good manners.  It would be very hypocritical of me to rant about the lack of manners in the world and then not write my own notes.

I have strange dreams sometimes and it seems a lot of them stem from the most recent movie I have seen.  Last night I watched Resident Evil: Extinction with the Dastard men.  Overall, I liked it except for the ending, too abrupt.  But that is beside the point.

I had the chance to sleep in and vividly remember my dream.  The funny part is that I awoke from that dream, went back to sleep and revised the original dream.  Ok, here's the original.

This is the first time I have turned on the iPod shuffle (the older version) and the first song I hear is by Tim McGraw, "My next thirty years."  Now I realize not all are country listeners and I am very selective in the artists I like.  But this song got me to thinking (being it is the end of the year) and looking back on the last ten years and forward to the next ten.

I want to laugh more and cry less.
I want to conquer some of my fears.
I want to weigh a little less and play a little more.
I want to say that I'm living, not just surviving.

It is Christmas Eve and all through our house, the potato soup is cooking and the sausage rolls are baking.  The boys have been busy.  This is the tradition the Dastard men are carrying forth.  We have already opened gifts and run to the store more than we would like.  The snow that fell this past week is melting but I think we could say it is a white Christmas.  The house didn't get decorated and the tree only has lights, but the mood is right for spending with family.  Halo 3 is the game of choice (I'm out numbered
