I had a friend that was in Kenya when the proverbial shit hit the fan. He was in the country on a mission trip working with an orphanage, and thank God, he and his team made it out safely. In his sermon, he talks about some of the stuff that they experienced.

This link is blatantly Christian as it is a sermon given in a Christian church, and it's about 40 minutes long, but I found it interesting.

Wow, I just don't think of things like this happening in the world, much less here in the states. The guy obviously had problems, and I'm not talking religious.

Saturday night/Sunday morning I took a ride along with a local PD. It was both interesting and informative. Evening totals, 10 hrs of awesomeness, 5 tickets, 4 drunks, 2 arrests, 2 hours at county jail, 1 dude pissing himself, 1 stoner, 1 crash(which actually happened right in front of us), and 1 chase. (Could have been better if the tranny would have made it to jail before we left) I come away with a more profound sense of respect for people that choose police work as a profession, and yet I will always be mad at them (and myself) when I'm the one getting the speeding ticket.
