Playing Hooky

Though, not by complete intention. I got up, got ready, did my duties as I normally would and started off on my long commute downtown. Halfway there I realize I do not have my parking pass with me! Doh! So, I weigh my opions. I can drive and get my pass, which will take forever, turn around and come back--missing my first class of the day and wasting my entire morning. OR I can turn around and go back at my leisure and just not turn around at all--getting other things accomplished today that I normally would not have. I chose to play hooky.

Yes, this is me procrastinating.

And doing a fine job, if you ask me. I have officially ended the first week of classes and was assigned two more books. Yay. For those keeping track I am at 19. Of course there are only 16 weeks in a semester...do you think that will stop me? No. Never. I will prevail. Who needs sleep? I don't. Who needs sanity? Not me. Who needs to get back to reading "Powers of Theory"?

.....(sadly lowering head in defeat)...

I Love College

I love college...I love college...I love college...I love college...

Maybe if I keep saying it to myself I will be okay with the fact that I just went and bought 17 books for my FOUR classes! AND one of the four doesn't even require a book, those 17 are only for three of them.

A Favorite

Ever had that moment that you run into someone you don't know...but you think you do? There is such a connection that you instantly are drawn to speak to each other. I have. And it leads me to a favorite Whitman poem of mine.

To A Stranger

Walt Whitman (1819-1892)

YEAH!

Calculus kicked my ass. Really, it did. Which, on any given day, wouldn't upset me too much except I have a scholarship to worry about. So, I worked extremely hard, went to tutoring, the whole she-bang just to PASS this class. Throughout the semester I had some pretty bad scores on tests, quizes and homework...so, it came down to the score on the final that would be my saving grace. I just had to do well enough to keep this class from ruining my GPA and well enough to move on to the next math section...
