Water, Heat, and Hail and DLC

Well, today 98 for the predicted high. Flooding has caused road closings and sand bagging in many places in Iowa. The reservoir dam releases upstream will keep the Missouri waters high. Multiple rain water ponds will undoubtedly spawn a record crop of mosquitos. Summer in Iowa. It has been a difficult choice for the Corps of Engineers and Congress t decide who gets flooded: the town or the country ( which means fields of crops that won't get to market and farmers entire yearly income lost). Towns win. If the levees break everyone gets a loss.

Microsoft did a great job introducing their own IPs and show casing the cross-platform hard-core games through SPIKE TV, today. This is agreat time to be a gamer, period. Think this is my shortest BLOG ever!

Game Changers

Well, when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. Good grief I think I am changing how I look at gaming! Too many choices are a blessing aren't they? In any case I am learning to narrow my options within my personal gaming categories. Once upon a time I thought that shooters alone ruled. After spending hours, days, months and yes years with certain games, I now know that Bethesda and Bioware are among my favorite game developers. The developers vs the titles are edging out previous criteria for game dollar allocation.

Baldur's Gate

Near to finishing Baldur's Gate2. Really liked it but am now moving on to Dead Space as soon as I can get a copy. Had to leave for Central America before I could finish as the dwarf. The ability to deactivate traps was especially useful. Not sure if I will repeat it on a harder level. Not much point to it, since I don't get achievements for this. In any case, I recommend it if you can find a cheap copy of it in the Playstation 2 section at GameStop. Picked mine up on the buy 2, get one free sale. Cheapest way to go. Found it out near Denver over Christmas. Classic game and a great one.

Fallin' Into Fallout:New Vegas & Kinecting

Here on the farm we are raising a grain bin and have a house to shingle after the bin is up. In the mean time I am working on level 16 of New Vegas. great game with a new challenge twist on hardcore. Currently avoiding entering the city while I level up and collect skill books and avoid becoming at odds with factions. Want to collect those sweet guns and outfits and followers first. Also KINECT is fantastic. Anyone with kids or wanting to learn Tai Chi or Yoga should have the system. The kids love the adventure game, and the 8 year old and 6 year old and 5 year old love the Kinectimals.
