Anticipation galore...!

I am sure I am not alone in my anticipation for the coming of next week, and specifically the release of Assassin's Creed. After years of hearing stories of a game, part Thief, part Prince of Persia, the time has finally come - well, almost. While most of the site is mired down in lust for Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4, I'm waiting for my chance to climb through the cities of the middle east, target the scum of the time, and bring their miserable lives to an end.

Choice of Profession

I ran into something yesterday that I found quite amusing. We all choose, in one way, shape, or form, what we want to do with our lives. It normally revolves around our passions, what we are good at doing, or both. I realized quite early - in my first 7th grade Genearl Science class specifically - that a scientific profession would be in my future. That single class molded what classes I focused on throughout high school, my eventual undergrad degree in Biotechnology, and then my choice of entering the biotech/pharmaceutical field.

T-minus one week...

...until the next big release (at least the next big release I'm tracking), Assassin's Creed.  Everything about this game oozes the style of a game that I absolutely love.  Stealth action, solid story, gorgeous settings, and high flying acrobatics across an entire city (ode to the days of Crackdown).  A new video was posted today, that gives some insight into the combat system, as well as how you elude the guards when you need to make a get-a-way.  I didn't need anything else to psyche myself up for this title, but this video notched my anticipate up another level on the meter.

Balek's Movie Review™

In a odd departure from my typical Wednesday DVD Movie Review™, this week brings you an installation on a Saturday. Why you'd ask? Well, because the wife and I tapped my eldest on the shoulder for an evening of babysitting, and went out for a real, honest to goodness date...the ones like we did in those times before we can almost remember, those days before we were married.
