Freakin' Moving Companys

So...another day wasted waiting on movers, but this time it has totally screwed the plans up royally. Apparently DOD changed some rules this year that the moving companys didn't like, so in Germany 42 out of the 70 transportation contractors no longer deal with the military. This has of course come at the worse time since this is the most active PCS season in a decade for Europe. So, long story short, I'm not getting my stuff picked up & shipped until mid July now, which means I won't be leaving here until late July/early August.

Figures

So I spent my whole day waiting for the movers to show...they tell you they'll be there between 0800-1700...and they don't show.  No phone call, no message, nothin'!  I love moving.  Ah well, it's clan night and we're doing a tourney, so it'll be all good.

Hold Baggage Day

Today the movers pick up my hold baggage.  Hold baggage is up to 1000lbs of your stuff you want to get to your next duty station quickly, as it goes by air.  Sometimes it's difficult to figure out what you want quickest.  This time it was simple, lot's of kid's clothes, some of momma's clothes, pots & pans, and a few other odds & ends.  Oh, and my boys gaming systems (gamecube, ps2, xbox), and my wife's 360.  I still haven't decided if I'm going to send the 40" LCD yet....it's my baby and I don't want to be without it, but I may just mail it UPS instead, that way, if they hurt it, they
