Drink My Creative Juice

I'm doing a bit of brainstorming for the product and here is the name/logo I came up with -
(subtle nod to all you Thorium Widget crafting types in WoW)

I wasn't sure if I should call it a "Game Studio", "Game Maker", or "Game Builder". Studio sounded the most professional out of all of them so I went with that.

Font Editor & Renderer - Complete

I certainly didn't get as much code done during the weekend as I would have liked but I think I made up for it today. The code for the font editor as well as the library to render it is complete. I've even gone so far as to cook up a 10 page PDF document on how to use the tools. I need to get my old website up and running so that I can have a place to post my work and have it be easily accessible.

Here is a screen shot of the font creator (click on the image to see the full-size version)

It's the simple things....

As I mentioned in my previous post I have the basics of my font exporter working. I have the basics (and I do mean basics) of the font drawing working.

I don't think I'll have all the font stuff done by the start of the weekend however I would like to try and  have it wrapped up by next Tuesday. I'm going away for the weekend so we'll see how much I can get done during that time.

First Steps

I started doing some basic GUI work at the end of last week. After I got a cursor tracking mouse movements on-screen the next obvious step is to get some text rendered. Unfortunately in Microsoft's haste of releasing XNA they didn't supply any functionality to render text (via font or via bitmap). With my recent stint into the world GDI+ programming creating a tool that generates a bitmap-based font was pretty easy. Here is a screenie of the app -
