On Monday I will be finishing this up and learning how to make a mold out of it. After that, I paint the mold and it gets shipped off to China for mass production

What's up everyone?

Work was slow last week, and I had a lot of down time. The bills got paid, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

At work we're starting the latest round of toy tee shirt heads this week. As I said earlier, a lot of colleges are getting really interested in these to put their mascots on hats and such. It's been a nice change of pace from painting gargantuan faux aborigine art work for Outback. We've yet to hear a final word from Marvel, but I have my fingers crossed that I will be doing some superheros in the future.

Just thought I would throw out a quick blog entry to post a quick sketch of the hulk I did, and to jibba-jabba about life.

Since the boss of my new job is a big horror fan, and has been in special effects for 25 years, I decided to brush off my pencils and get back into drawing.  This is a sketch I did today of a werewolf.  My plan is to bang out 1-2 sketches a day, and come up with a decent portfolio to bring into him within the next month or two.  So without further adieu:

This week I found out that my boss has been in the special effects business for 25 years!  He told me that the production art for the restaurants account is to keep the business going while he goes out and tries to land more work along the lines of what he wants to do.   He is a huge horror fan, and that is where a bulk of his work is concentrated!  The guys I work with now, along with myself will get 'bumped' up to the cooler jobs, and he will hire other people to fill in on the production art tasks.
