Initial building is giving an indication that the cars are within a couple of seconds of each other, that may sound far. But these only have a quick build and a base tune and all have aero.
I tinkered with the subaru last night, and took 1.5 seconds off the time just by changing the build. So it suggests that teh matching process is working...
Great news. Was hoping for an update.
What's the plan? Are you going to produce spec builds for all? One hell of a job!
This could be genuinely brilliant. Just the opportunity to select a car that appeals and matches individual driving styles will add so much.
How are we going to advertise this. Seperate thread in the race lounge over at FM.net to attract a few more? That needs an organised roll out. Video trailer and cars. Nice friendly face of 2O4F and all that.
If we are going in that general direction then we need people to understand that membership of 2O4F/2O2P and participation does not require membership of the in game club. Or does it? That may be one of the misconceptions/limitations that is keeping people away.

Yeah it is taking a while to build all the cars to the correct grip levels, I've made a start on the fastest class so far and will continue to working on that. I want to get a good idea of how close they will be without going overboard, so whilst the tunes won't be perfect they will be good enough for me to know how much more is left in the car. The scooby for example will hit the 2.03 mark if improved the turn in and got on the power a bit better, low 2.03 if i got the gearing bang on.
Because most of the fun is in building and refining the car, I will keep it as an open build but wit clearer limitations in specs. At the moment, it is easier to put it on the spreadsheet and just deal with it there until they are finalised. I think they are 90% done now - just need to be sure.
This will be epic if the whole of 2O4F pull together on this, I am hoping for sponsored team entries from a couple of the tuning shops, i'll be offering pretuned cars for people AND I'm hoping for a buddy pairing system where the Alien/experianced drivers will give advice to those that are learning the ropes. A Single qualification round will help me place the 5 closest people in the same group for some really close racing.
I'm yet to decide on the race length, but 40 - 60 minute race is the approximate. This should force 2 or 3 pitstops with the drag tyres!! Testing will have to confirm this though and for now that is a little bit into the distance. Video trailers and photos of cars will be rolled out - Brnt has very kindly offered some help with coverage, however i'm going to try to take up as little of his time as possible with my PVR :)
I think we will restrict the age to 25 years+ and still require a forum sign up for the simple fact that they can get involved with the banter/updates.
There is also the possibility of running this on full race tracks only, depending on popularity.
V v v excited about it. Sponsorship etc sounds a good idea. Yeah, membership here is a must as is 25+ as a precondition. But don't actually need to be in the in game clubs. I also have another idea that would add to the whole experience. Let you know more later.
For those keeping track of this thread - We have some thing seriously cool in the pipeline and as far as i am aware, nothing that has ever been done before.
A test on the wrong track was done last night and it was interesting as the cars RWD and AWD were pretty much identical in acceleration + cornering--
Super Class specs are final, inter class is being built and tested next.
Pass the word far and wide!
Things are getting interesting!
Make space in you diaries!
This will be an epic event !
Love the feeling of these cars after 10 laps of tyre wear. The feeling of the actual need to make decisions about pitting. Will pitting early give me the margin or am I able to keep it under control and push on. Can I take Hyper or Wonka with an early pit? ;)

I really couldn't agree more - I've built ALOT of series events and leagues but this one is really where its at. The touring car has nothing on this! Alot of it is thanks to you also :)
Inter class is verified, the grip is 1.2 and the cars are close enough to be evened out with better builds (aero balance) Testing cars have been put in the euro garage.. Please keep in mind these test cars are good enough for me to get a idea of the lap they'll put in and not race tunes. Some of them are a bit iffy ;)
On to the final class now and i'll start getting an idea of dates :)
well that all sounds great and I want to take part in this "epic event". Thank you all for your work until now!
I am just a driver, not a tuner so I need a tune for my favourite car BMW M3 '91. I will do the design by myself.
Due to my not planable times for training and racing, I won't join a team and take part as a .... privateer.

Its still a work in progress at the moment, at the moment i'm doing a few tunes for each class to start testing with. I've decided to scrap team enteries but i'd like to see a good range of cars ready tuned for people to hop into and race.
Still have plenty of builds to complete yet and then to start really tuning them, People can start building cars from the top two teirs, or if they want Post up which car you want to run.
I'll try to make some sort of list for people to have a look at, its only a list for information and not restriction.
Fantastic work guys, I'll build a few from each class and see where they sit on the track times after 3/4 laps of silverstone.
Thank you :D
It was fun
Looks fantastic guys.

I'm going to crack on with building these and testing them tomorrow :D
Awesome paints Oldschool!!

Well i am very interested in ideas at this point - every thing is shaping up for a really good competitive race/series.
You know what the most exciting thing is? It would seem, on the face of it that i've balanced AWD, RWD and FWD without too much work! :)
tournie, send a couple of builds to test boss
+1 please
You can send me a couple if you need some testing done.
Thanks guys - not quite ready yet. Soon enough though..

Looking sweet!!
Pretty sure i'll be running one of those - but, i'm yet to try the other classes.
I'll tidy some tunes up for the Super class tonight, and then make a start on the inter class builds and see what happens.

The biggest detail is yet to be released :)
After doing a few laps on Wednesday I cannot wait for this!!!
Will get some laps in for testing with these tomorrow night

Interesting...let see how wednesday night goes with lag..or not.
Once it gets up and running, it'll be one for the history books. Reckon I maybe able to tie off the lower class tonight. :)
I'm holding no class restrictions, a driver is free to enter which ever class they want.
