For someone as smart as you Tourni it amazes me you could come up with such a stupid idea. If it's love Fitzy seeks it will have to be tough love from Parcells. 40

Why would Parcells apologize for accomplishing what I set out to do? It makes no sense I tell ya. Besides those are the fakest tears I've ever seen. Try again Mr. Fitzer Parcells isn't buying it.

Last night I spent some more time testing in club after I found a shiny new FWD ride last night.  Thank you Tourni.   I don't know if its my lack of skills in FWD but tire wear seemed to hit about one lap sooner in the FWD for me than either the AWD or RWD.  At 12 laps the FWD was red and noticably more slippery where AWD and RWD was only yellow and managable.   At 13 laps the RWD and AWD the tire wear is much more noticable.  I figure if I stick with 12 I can maintain consistant lap times overall and hopefully avoid being sucked up into a slip and slide contest with the other slow pokes in club.

Right now my best times are in AWD, with FWD and RWD about 1 - 2 seconds behind.  Need to run some more laps to before I decide for sure.  I love driving RWD but FWD shows alot of promise.  The AWD is an ugly car but currently the most stable of the rides for my driving ablities.

Her lines are not as sleek and refined as some of the more visually stimulating rides one could choose from, however once you've taken her out for a spin, she leaves you craving for more....

you are giving too much steering input while in a turn - try to turn the steering wheel a bit less while turning and use the tire sound and view the telemetry while driving.

front wheel drive cars need to accelerate out of a corner and this requires that you have more diff lock to help you in the turns.

you probably do not have enough front diff accell settings - try  increasing the setting and remember when exiting a turn you should accelerate to pull the car out of the turn.

remember - front wheel drive pulls the car - rear wheel drive pushes the car

@SuperNovaDave   I think your right about the steering input as I kept trying to push the car not let it pull me through the corners.  Old habits.  That's the piece that was puzzling to me, seemed like every time I turned in the tires squealed. It makes a more sense to me now.  Thanks!

Your welcome Gomba, I thought I would send it along for you to see how it felt.  FWD cars are alot more aggressive on their tyres, so its not your driving :)

I was more curious to see how your times differ from that of the AWD/RWD, can I ask what assists you are using, if any?

No assists,  PWTS with CSP, manual using the pedal.  I ran some laps with JC Monday night and have been trying out a couple of his suggestions. I changed my veiw from cockpit to hood as I can see the car's placement on the track better.  I also turned on the braking line as well to see if it helps being more consistant in my braking points.  Hood view is better, too early to tell on the braking line.

In the AWD I can turn low 2:14 - mid 2:13 pretty consistant, 2:12:5ish personal best thus far.   In the FWD last night I turned 2:16s for a while then dropped a couple laps in 2:14s.  More practice in FWD should impove that.

I started playing with my RWD tune again and put a couple laps in at 2:15ish so know I can tighten that some more as well.

Looks like the AWD needs to be your focus. Seat time in one car counts. I would genuinely consider sticking and trying to push the times.

I spent a fair amount of time in an AWD in testing. You can afford to ride curbs far more and they are more forgiving in how the grip drops off. But I found I had to really throw them into corners to provoke them into doing what I wanted.

I assume the tune is something PTR have waved their magic wand over? If so, it's about as good as you'll get.

I will admit that I am easily seduced by the sexy new ride on the block.  RWD has always been my favorite in FM4 and all else being equal is what I will lust after.  The stability and times in the AWD are hard to ignore, so in the end I will stick with her.  My times in general have been dropping so it is fun to play with those other rides as a harmless diversion.

You are correct, PTR has installed their magic beans in the AWD and she is indeed a sweet ride.   I would be quite happy if I could shave a second or more off my times with her. Overall, I find her forgiving nature makes for an enjoyable endurance run.  Later tonight, I will give her a good hard push in the corner and see how she responds ;)

Yeah, I'm firmly in the RWD camp.

But I find myself in a FWD! How the hell did that happen? I'm a whore for a fast car and I have a stack of very fast racers in INTER. So thought I'd better buckle up in the best I could come up with, and then howl for Tourni to throw a tune on it.

Hope you find the couple of seconds. First time round be happy with 1. TBH - the extra seconds some others are finding are down to mispent old age in 2O4F wink I enjoy just trying to get faster.

My choices for this race would be AWD or RWD.  With the added load FWD cars put on the front tires I think a FWD car would require a 3rd pit stop.  If you try to conserve tire by not being too aggressive with the car then you're not going to keep up.  Drive aggressively, and your tires won't last 12 laps.

AWD has a clear advantage over all other drive types.  Grip, weight, power have all been equalized so the added handling provided by the AWD is going to put it over the top.  This is reflected in the increase in PI that the AWD cars have when build to the guideline specs.  This is not to be confused with the decreased performance of AWD cars when driven against RWD and FWD cars of equal PI.

I was going to run the Eagle Talon, but even this car is simply too quick to have good competition.  Going by Tourni's race times in his Altezza I'll be switching over to the RX-7 Savanna.  This car should be more inline competitively, barring any unforseen accidents, and we should have a great race.

I think you will find the extra time, on the next practice i will run a little with you to see if i can help :)  I'd say, stick with the alfa for now, practice getting into the corners and getting on the power so you exit the corner using as much of the track as you can :)

Poidsly, your going to have a good race i think - church, hyper and goose will all be fairly close on the track

I know I can find some more time in the Alpha.  I think I've gotten better at getting into the corners at proper speed, but still a bit slow to get on it as I exit.  I notice when I get it right I can jump on it much harder and when I don't I break loose and need to back off, thus losing speed rather quickly... :)

Its the lateral G as stated in the pop up box when swapping upgrades. Ithe pop up states weight, BHP,torque and one lateral G figure. It states the before and after figure for the upgrade you are thinking of applying.

hope that clarifies.
