I'm in. Judging by the sign up sheet I'll play the role of moving chicane.
I'll have to check out some cars to see what I'm comfortable in. Do I need to commit to a certain car right away?
I'd recommend club for you actually - there is a nice mix there. Super has some very track experianced drivers in :)
there is a practice shortly, so you may want to pick a car to try tonight. There are cars on offer from Atlantic and PTR, ready tuned a built. Both will work with you to get the car to your liking :)
I should've used that Honda you sent. I think that I was getting 2:18's in the MG before I rolled it, and in just a couple quick laps in the Civic I was running mid 2:12's. Good tune
Grrrrrr !! Got bumped back to the lobby for a sec....then completely offline. Came back on and into the lobby but couldn't hear anything from anybody. Not sure what happened there. Was fun while it lasted. Pretty slow today could only manage a best lap of 2.08.800. Maybe it was the lack of drive time for me since Thurs nite. Took me a good 10 laps to get used to the car again. Just couldn't seem to settle down. Hopefully I'll have a better handle on it by race day...otherwise I'll be spending most of my time hotlapping alone.
Hey Surf! I will have a look at the tune again either tonight if I can get on or tomorrow.
I know I have not had the time to be on either and I was on the other day for a little and noticed I was not able to get into the grove.
Thanks Kraigger !! Think it's mostly me however. Best lap I've got in any of the Supers has been a mid 2.06. Just couldn't get in the groove today before I got bumped. I'll make sure I get some laps in the car before the race next week.
i have a Toyota Altezza build for d2nr if there is anyone wanting to sign up for club. its shared in the club garage. you might enjoy just looking at the paint i used some familiar meme faces lol.
hey i just had a question. i was looking at the list of cars in the google spreadsheet and i noticed the lexus is300 is grouped in the club category and the toyota altezza is in intermediate. looking at the rules about displacement shouldnt the lexus is300 ( 3 litre inline 6) be in super and the toyota altezza (2 litre 4 cylinder) in club? the is300 isnt really able to get down to 2469lbs or 2200cc and the only engine swaps are the lexus isf v8 and the v10 from the lfa.
It was a very interesting race - Supernovadave walked it, but he didn't have many in his skill group to contend with, i think we need a few more drivers in super to balance out the skills and make it more interesting for them. He was lapping us by lap 24, and very nicely done too - gave us loads of space and passed when it was safe.
The interclass had the most battles, church and KC were down to strategy and tyre wear. The rest of the field were fighting alot, fitzy mostly with the car than other players, steviegers pulled through the ranks after a wobbly start.
Club class, Pap took the win by some 1000ft, his car was a little slower in the fastest times but his avg laptime made up for that. I was overcooking some corners when trying to push to hard. The other club drivers were a little further back, so I may look at an alternative car that will keep a better pace with them. Emezmer managed a churchpro special, rolling through the first section of the chicane. He ended up turtled and forced into early retirement, great shame and the MGB was a little off the pace :(
On the whole, a great deal of fun had racing - plenty of moments like missing paps rear bumper by the skin of my balls, getting the car loose through fast corners and fighting with every last ounce of grip to keep her on the track. Trying to fend off helios for 9th spot, only for him to follow KC through on the last straight..!
Regretfully I must withdraw my place in this event, connection problems to the servers that I have no control over just make it too likely that I will only get into a room half the time and that doesn't do my blood pressure any good at all.
Lap 12 I was 2.5 seconds down. I can live with that.
Lap 13 I was 17 seconds down. It was crazy my car would not turn at all!
interesting! Sounds like that civic drops off very suddenly. What sort of lap times were you and KC turning when the tyres were good? Mid 2:06's when the tyres are sweet in the golf.
I'm still undecided as to pit strategy. The two stopper will always result in some punishment at the end of at least one stint.

12 and 24 should be your pit laps. Then you're doing 12, 12 and 11 so there's no real problem. Trying to squeeze a lap 13 gives you no advantage as you're still going to need another pit before the end.

Ah but it does (at least should). If you can squeeze and extra lap or 2 out of the first 2 stints...that's that many fewer laps you have to run on the last stint...which means you can flail on it that much harder at the end.
But if how you drive (not just based on milage) on the tires doesn't affect the wear...then that throws that theory out the window.
I'll be there tonight in Inter class.
Awwwww Crap ;)
Make sure you put your entry in the sign up :)
Question "Will there be anybody in the Inter Class I can keep up with?" Answer " Not bloody likely"
Then come and play with us in club Fitzy - Pap and I are running tunes to keep with others, so it should be some really good racing :)

Damn it!
RL intervenes. Out of practice tonight. Nothing to be done about it.
Tourni,
Can I use any car that fits the requirements (asides from the banned cars), or do I need to use a car off of the Build spreadsheet?
Running club is fine by me, as I've been away from F4 for a couple months.
any car that fits the requirements :)
I've sent you a car for tonight also.

Must focus..... Pit Strategy.
Lets get it on KC!
So come on! What happened in inter?
My Race report:
Me and KC was next to each other on lap 12 then KC dived in to the pits, I stayed out.
I then was 17 seconds down on my lap (I really needed to pit on lap 12) and after I got in the pits and back out KC was 17 seconds in front of me
Made up the time and got in front for a lap but I needed to pit again and KC didn't!
As it was lap 32 I stayed out and KC walked away from me. Been out on my 12 lap old tires I was avg 12 seconds down on the remaining 3 laps
Wonka pitted at lap 33
Someone rolled it.
Everyone had a very close race with at least 2 people.
For the First 10 laps we had a mix of 4 cars (3 Inter and a super) all with in 300 ft of each other.
I took Helios out on the 3rd turn after jumping in front of steveie a bit to early and tapping Helios. Sorry!
I cannot really tell you what happened for the rest as I was chasing KC down and was really concentrating.
And I forgot to save the replay. "FacePalm"
And Wonka - I assume his pit on 33 was his second.
Right pissed off to have missed it!
Sad to see Knight still having issues.

Fantastic as always guys :)

That is a great shame, was hoping to see you in there racing with dawg.
Please pass the word round peeps, lets drum up the final few racers to fill the two rooms.
I think it was two stop, but church needed 3.
Yeah KC with 2 stops
Me with 3.
My tires went off real fast.
Lap 12 I was 2.5 seconds down. I can live with that.
Lap 13 I was 17 seconds down. It was crazy my car would not turn at all!
