You know Jones, I think Wam said you had peaked and should just quit while you were ahead. I thought to myself, he's more of a behind, but I digress. I think you've proven him wrong, proven you still have more to contribute, and that you're keenly interested, nay concerned with highway beautification!
BTW, I looked at the properties addy on that and I can't tell, is it your photo? More importantly, is that your sign?
RE: Title Update - Looks good Knight but do we really need the word "shock"? I doubt anyone is shocked this thread would eventaully devolve into the abyss it has become.
Where's Wamam been? We may have finally scared him straight?
work's been to crazy to get on during the day, coaching has been taking up a lot of my evening time. i baisically wander the empty halls of 2o2p at night while everyone else is asleep.
No, it's not my pic. You would likely be able to identify my cat...it would have a Microsoft headset in its mouth and its eyes would be sparkling with a malevolent glee. My cat also keeps its intestines on the inside of its body, if that helps with identification purposes.

In other news my laptop hunt is over, picked up a half price Ultra Book, nice wee yoke. Not one of the top of the range but it has enough grunt to keep me happy. Its an HP so a ton of bloatware to remove but that is half the fun of a new Laptop, all that tweaking. It has an SSD for the OS and man it's fast, boot time is just over 15 secs from power button to logged in and connected to the network...the old one was closer to 15 mins.
It's running Win 7 at the moment but I think I will take advantage of a offer to go to win 8 for 15 quid and see what all the fuss is about.
this laptop is 12 yrs old! it's a frankenstien of laptops. i can tear it down to nothing and put it all back together in less than 20 min...which is how long it takes to restart as well.
I was living in some apartments near the corner of Tropicana and Maryland Parkway in the winter of 1991,and liked to hang out at a bar called "The Inn Zone." Some famous football player owned it but I can't remember which one. One Friday night they had a pajama party with a contest and all that shit....again, can't remember the details. What I do remember is that the bartender who was working Friday night came back to work around 2 am Sunday morning and I was still there in my pajamas and was abruptly asked to leave. Walking from the bar to my apartment (my wife had driven home in the car at some point) was actually the most exercise I had gotten all weekend and I hadn't made it 50 feet down the alley when I had to go...real bad. It wasn't a real problem as I had several cocktail napkins in my pj pockets, but failed to see the police car waiting for me...I may have caused a bit of a ruckus while I was leaving. They shined the spotlight on my most recent weight loss and I could see the steam rising off of it in the light, which compromised my deniability. I agreed to pay for the damage to the bar and was forced to serve a community service stint at McCarran Airport in restitution for my little parting gift in the alley.

And he's back...well that was painless and don't see why folk have problems navigating around it. All seem fast and slick. Don't think it will find it's way onto the race rig but on the laptop so far so good.

Bought two laptops for the boys (age 18) and the wife hates Windows 8...now mind you, she loves her I-phone, but feels the laptops trying to imitate phones/tablets and she doesn't like that.
I would agree with your wife, the app store is full of pointless apps that run on a phone, why the hell would you bother to run them on a powerful computer, anything worth doing is run in the normal (ish) desktop mode anyway. The Metro interface is just a waste of space...I find myself wodering what the point of it is. Yes it boots fast, but it would boot even faster without the Metro thingy.
If they called it windows tablet it would make sense.
But it really is no surprise that it isn't that good. Microsoft has alleys done a good OS then bad OS. Eg. W98 good, win me, bad win xp good, win vista bad, win 8 good ect
Best post ever.
Down where I come from cats are lizard bait.
And all the cat lovers on here!
Still lol'ed though
Oh......but it was a bit funny too...

Guessing it isn't your cat.
That picture has been around for awhile.
The cat looks fresh?

People have been arrested for that kind of behavior...

And it likes to take early morning steaming constitutionals, no?
Steaming....reminds me of the time I got picked up in Las Vegas for "defecating in public." The judge had no interest in hearing my side of the story.

Here's the deal on the Vegas thing...

Now that is a tale worthy of a good old boy. Respect.
Just about to install W8 on my new laptop...I could be gone some time.

Is there anybody out there?
Well, if anyone comes by again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
