Wheels, something is up on your end. Yes, I have had the occasional disconnect in Forza and GT5, but nothing close to the frequency of issues you have experienced. If it were me, I would like at everything from the PS3 and Xbox to the ISP, including the ethernet cables, router and modem.

During the past 7 months I have only ever been unable to get in to one game and been disconnected once only.
I would reset everything. Make sure your hub is on PNP and check your NAT settings.
If your still having issues run the Xbox on a DMZ setting on your router and ring your ISP and ask them to put you on a gamer profile.

It would seem so. I made a post some time ago about running a monthly Forza lobby the first Thursday of every month. Trying to mix up my racing so giving it a three month trial period to see how it goes, We'll be back next week.

I thought Id come in and let everyone know how it's going with my sim build and why I've not been around of late :(
So, I'll keep this short. Fanatec finally sent me my CSR-E / Pedals and .... They .... Were dead on arrival. So after 2 weeks of videos and the most foul mouthed abusive customer service ever! They replaced the item... Which when arrived, was a used/reconditioned model (the wheel plastic was severely worn on the top of the wheel) after another horrible exchange with Fanatec I decided to ask for a refund... After being told I'd need to pay for the shipping I still went ahead and did this.
So, I am now still without a wheel :( but I have began playing single player on the pad, currently up to level 10 and a few licences still to go :( its not got the same excitement as playing with some kind of wheel but it will do for now...
After the PS4 announcement I have decided to hold off for a wheel until further notice as it seems peripherals will not be backward compatible (not that will affect USB wheels i shouldn't expect) but means I may now opt for the CSW or something in the future if I can be bothered to deal with Fanatec again. I am honestly so stressed with them right now that I feel it's better if I avoide them for a few months as I may end up just being rude/obnoxious if anythingn else goes wrong and that's just not good for anyone.
So, my current situation is this:
Still on pad (thanks Fanatec)
Level 10 but still progressing on the pad (but feels boring)
Rig on hold until I can get a wheel sorted from Fanatec or elsewhere.
probably won't racing much online with the pad as I do honestly find the sensation of just moving my thumbs a tad boring and I'm not great with a pad (as you all know) so I'll continue off line and/or go back to forza and my MS wheel :(
And finally, seems as I am bored out of my skull and and have made only 17,000 credits so far lol if anyone has any old cars they would like to donate/gift over (particularly touring cars etc) please feel free to do so (any accepted) as I would honestly appreciate a few new surprises to rag round off line until I finally get this rig sorted and can join you all again online.

Hey HaCK!!!...I can't speak for anyone else but here is my strategy (Fast Money-Lotsa Cars)...I believe I got my new (First One Died) PS3 about 8 weeks ago. Started from scratch. Lay off all A-Spec Races...Run only B-Spec and use only 1 driver until you get to level 40. Run races where you know you can set it and forget it (Red Bull Prototype). Keep going after the championships on each level until the Endurance Series pops up at the top. Then you can really gain the Experience that will propel you up to level 40. Try to run the Endurance Races that you can set and forget (Red Bull Prototype). Once you get to level 40 with one driver then you can add a couple more. To get them experience to level 40 run the 24 Hrs of Le Mans with the 2 new drivers with the Red Bull Prototype. After you get to level 40 with the first driver run the B-Spec Seasonal race. First one from the left...500PP. I run the Suzuki GSX-R4 Concept (Tune it to 505PP+ and dial it back to 500) and I set it and forget it. The race is 5 Laps and time is around 7 minutes for 875,000 credits (200%) (Hit Start..Start Timer for 7+Minutes..Watch TV..Jump Back..Hit Start Again). Start buying the cars. I am up to 1120 cars I believe. Now some may say why do you need so many cars...You Don't but if you keep racing and earning credits are you going to just piss it away or are you going to buy cars. C'mon Man...Get With It!!!!
P.S. After your fill with cars and lotsa money...Venture out and run the A-Spec!
P.S.S. Hairy..If you need a certain car to accomplish any endeavor I will send it (Within Rules of Gifting) over or post it online so you can borrow it. Send a FR if you wish...WHEELSo555o!

thanks for the tips (I've never ventured into b spec and if I'm honest... I'll try this and try to make some money) thanks Zero and Parceles, I'm just so deflated. I know I shouldn't be, I know it's not life threatening etc, I have a lovely wife, kids, home and health, but if I'm honest, I am so gutted that Fanatec did this to me in this way as I've saved for so long, took years to get to this position where it's ok (family wise) for me spend £1500 on a sim rig ... Only to be shit on by Fanatec. I don't want to bash them as I'm not wanting to get into a debate etc with happy Fanatec users, but I went in knowing that they had a bad reputation, but I never thought that they would be like this? It's the most bizarre company I have ever encountered.
In one mail they even said I should be happy with my second hand wheel as it works and what more do I want? I asked if this was a language/translation issue and they sent the same comments back to me asking if it works what do I want them to do? It had worn rubber on the wheel top where someone had clearly used it for some time and returne it??? For £600 I expect a new product!
id love to join in on the saturday events, that would be perfect for me, I'm just rubbish on the pad, so slow, not confident, not accurate etc (compared to how I am with forza+wheel) so I don't want to ruin anyone's races or run so far behind that I'm all alone at the back 30seconds behind :(
I know I probably sound like a whiny baby but I was so looking forward to this, its been something I have wanted since I was a kid, and Fanatec have been giving me excuses now since ... November or so... and when it finally arrived (after many delays) it was borked, then they send a second hand one, and then ask me to pay to return it... They are lucky im not cursing them with foul language if im honest :)
Now with Sony saying current peripherals are not supported on PS4, plus Logitech leaving the console market, and all these delays Fanatec have given me (3/4 months) I'm not sure if the investment is right at this time... If I got it in November when I ordered it I'd have got 1 year out of it on the consoles... Now, I'll be lucky to get 6 months before the new ones arrive in stores and new peripherals are released/announced at E3 to support them too, I suppose what I'm saying is, I could re-order a CSW tomorrow, but I can't justify it as it may be redundant in November... So I may as well wait until November... but... I don't want too lol :(
anyway, enough crying like a big spoiled baby from me.. I'll do some practicing, I'll get used to tracks layouts etc... I'll play with some new cars and if it's ok I'll still join in and float around the track as a camera man / safety car or something during races if thats a possibility :)
Also, I bought the GT5 complete DLC but noticed there are a few others available, which should I buy? Motegi track or a pack of cars (pack 2 and/or pack 3) any suggestions on which is the best to get?

Mark and I were just talking and he came up with a good idea to more than double our available cars to race each week…when we’re not running spec cars.
Sure, shuffle races can be fun but they can also suck if you get a real good or real bad car even though they are pretty close overall. The game offers us maybe 150 recommended cars but we also have ~200 premium cars that anyone can buy any time which means we can race any one of these cars just about any week. Two years+ into this game its likely most of us have all or most of the premium cars anyway (Parcells probably has the least I’m guessing – still under 200 cars J).
Therefore I propose that we can race ANY premium car any given week. If you don’t have the car someone chooses you can go out and buy it be back in 2 minutes and off we go. In the rare instance you don’t have the car and not enough credits to purchase the car we will have to choose another. I figure we can choose the tyre compound as we see fit.
On that note it will still make it smoother if we know what cars people may wish to run on any given week so if you have a car you’ve been wanting to run please post here so people can purchase the car beforehand but not necessary.
Along the same lines I’d love to start incorporating some non-premium cars into the mix as well. Last couple of weeks Dan and I started out with one of Parcells favorite cars (Opel Speedster) and an awesome Caterham and we’ve had some good races until 5 or 6 of us show up then someone doesn’t have the car back to recommended.
Non-premium cars will definitely take a lot longer to organize (unless we watch the on-line dealership – our best bet) because of the pure randomness of your personal dealership to offer up the car you want. If you guys are interested in trying to arrange a non-premium car let me know and perhaps we can start a list of cars to search for over the next 2-4 months or whatever it will take to get everyone the car. Feedback welcome.

If you 3/4 wish to confirm a weekend time that works for you I'm sure we can get some of our regulars to join in maybe even some of the West Coast guys who also struggle with Thursday's time slot would join? Since GT5 usually provides my funnest weekly racing activities I'd be willing to run a monthly (maybe even bi-weekly) Euro event.

The only problem is Saturdays are usually the day I spend with my boys(no school and late night) but I could prob manage to fit in 1 a month and see how it goes sometime the boys like to watch me race. But they can get board and start fighting witch means I have to stop kick there ass and then continue. I had great fun just running diff cars on diff tracks over the last few days and would like to try some online events or one off races hopefully gizzie and hairychinesekid and the other euro dude would be up for some gt5 action.
just re read his post .. I see it now :) late sundays is great for me, I can usually either send them to another room and once a month she goes away all day Sunday so that too is perfect.
I am going to buy a thrust master now I think, and I want a steam box type scenario too at point. I'm leaving consoles. Until then, thrust master and PS3 and GT5 and most likely PCars (can't wait for that) will be the end of my console life :(

anyway, enough crying like a big spoiled baby from me.. I'll do some practicing, I'll get used to tracks layouts etc... I'll play with some new cars and if it's ok I'll still join in and float around the track as a camera man / safety car or something during races if thats a possibility :)
Also, I bought the GT5 complete DLC but noticed there are a few others available, which should I buy? Motegi track or a pack of cars (pack 2 and/or pack 3) any suggestions on which is the best to get?
Thanks for sending a few gifts over too guys, I honestly sincerely appreciate it, again, I know I'm being a baby about my wheel and seat etc but being able to blast some surprises around the tracks takes away some of the sting :) thanks everyone :)
Mark and I were just talking and he came up with a good idea to more than double our available cars to race each week…when we’re not running spec cars.
Sure, shuffle races can be fun but they can also suck if you get a real good or real bad car even though they are pretty close overall. The game offers us maybe 150 recommended cars but we also have ~200 premium cars that anyone can buy any time which means we can race any one of these cars just about any week. Two years+ into this game its likely most of us have all or most of the premium cars anyway (Parcells probably has the least I’m guessing – still under 200 cars J).
Therefore I propose that we can race ANY premium car any given week. If you don’t have the car someone chooses you can go out and buy it be back in 2 minutes and off we go. In the rare instance you don’t have the car and not enough credits to purchase the car we will have to choose another. I figure we can choose the tyre compound as we see fit.
On that note it will still make it smoother if we know what cars people may wish to run on any given week so if you have a car you’ve been wanting to run please post here so people can purchase the car beforehand but not necessary.
Along the same lines I’d love to start incorporating some non-premium cars into the mix as well. Last couple of weeks Dan and I started out with one of Parcells favorite cars (Opel Speedster) and an awesome Caterham and we’ve had some good races until 5 or 6 of us show up then someone doesn’t have the car back to recommended.
Non-premium cars will definitely take a lot longer to organize (unless we watch the on-line dealership – our best bet) because of the pure randomness of your personal dealership to offer up the car you want. If you guys are interested in trying to arrange a non-premium car let me know and perhaps we can start a list of cars to search for over the next 2-4 months or whatever it will take to get everyone the car. Feedback welcome.

If you 3/4 wish to confirm a weekend time that works for you I'm sure we can get some of our regulars to join in maybe even some of the West Coast guys who also struggle with Thursday's time slot would join? Since GT5 usually provides my funnest weekly racing activities I'd be willing to run a monthly (maybe even bi-weekly) Euro event.
Offer up a time Stevie, we'll see where it goes...Saturday likely the best eh?...because of jam packed Sundays? I could go this weekend if you want.
The only problem is Saturdays are usually the day I spend with my boys(no school and late night) but I could prob manage to fit in 1 a month and see how it goes sometime the boys like to watch me race. But they can get board and start fighting witch means I have to stop kick there ass and then continue. I had great fun just running diff cars on diff tracks over the last few days and would like to try some online events or one off races hopefully gizzie and hairychinesekid and the other euro dude would be up for some gt5 action.
Your late afternoon on Sunday's may be viable?
Sunday's are much better for me too... She's usually away... But I can't race during F1 live events :)
Could try Sundays but I also like to watch f1 and football depends who is playing. Hope gizzie would be up for it

just re read his post .. I see it now :) late sundays is great for me, I can usually either send them to another room and once a month she goes away all day Sunday so that too is perfect.
I am going to buy a thrust master now I think, and I want a steam box type scenario too at point. I'm leaving consoles. Until then, thrust master and PS3 and GT5 and most likely PCars (can't wait for that) will be the end of my console life :(
