Guys, I updated the spreadsheet...renamed a couple of sheets.

We had 7 guys last week but the West Coast guys were late enough that we did not bother runing the spec car yet again. Still trying to run Parcells Ford Focus and Lawyer's GT car so the plan is to run the Focus this week and the GT car the following. Spec car being run this week I can taste it.

What do the US guys think about racing this Thursday night? When we shut down last week I realized this week is Thanksgiving and hinted that we probably wont be racing. But Dan said that he would race and he also said Greg would race too (Dan speaking for Greg, not sure what Greg thinks).

Parcells assumed we would have no US Guys this week so figured cancelling is the best but if you guys are wanting to race far be it for us Canadians to ruin your thanksgiving by not showing up.

Dan said he is in so if there is at least one more US Guy racing we’ll have a session and if Craig does not show up we’ll push out his spec car one more week.

Let me know guys.

First, sorry I missed Thursday night.  I was working out of town and did not get home until after 8:30pm PST.

Second, with regard to Thursday night, I am going to the inlaws for Thanksgiving and will likely not be home early enough on Thanksgiving night to do GT5.  I will likely return on November 29.

Apparently we have 3 of the 4 regular US guys racing this week so it looks like we'll be running. I'll be on the normal time of 7:00'ish. We'll push out Craig's spec car till next week and figure out something to run or just wing it.

That's a good question Wheels. I updated the spreadsheet with the car we've been trying to run for the better part of a month now. The listed car is the Super GT Honda Weider HSV but this is a DLC car that costs $0.99...too expensive for some of us so we decided ANY Super GT car built to the listed specs will suffice. Parcells don't know exactly how to distinguish a Super GT car but Helios said that the Castrol Supra and Lexus SC430 are valid.

The PP rating should be very close for all Super GT cars but we'll do a quick poll on Thursday and if we find a huge discrepancy we'll limit the PP to even things out. No worries.

Based on what Parcells just witnessed the best I can tell is these Super GT cars come standard with 473 HP, 4480'ish cc and most cost $900,000.00

Now based on what I’m seeing is the DLC spec car seems to be a slightly higher PP rating (after the upgrades) than what Parcells believes to be Super GT cars (all start at 473 HP???) because I keep reading the PP on Craig’s DLC car is 640, where I’ve built three cars now, two coming in at 625 and the third at 632. Also, the TOMS Petronas that we’ve run in the past and I’ll be using tonight has almost 40 more HP than the two new ones I built…that is standard cause I’ve put 50+ miles on my car.

Bla bla bla I will be limiting the HP this evening to 650 HP when we run the spec cars. If your car is over 650 HP the game will not allow you on the track so you’ll have to go into the settings menu (you do this while on-line via the lounge area) and you can select the “power limiter” option and adjust your HP/PP rating until you are under 650 HP. In GT5 the more you drive your car the more HP it gains so if you adjust to exactly 650 on race one you will probably have to re-adjust for race two cause your HP will improve over the course of race one.

@chinese guy – You don’t need the practice (and don’t have a mic) so I will not be on tonight until 7:00 EST. You don’t have a mic but we know that you can hear us so just in case here’s what you need to know to “play along”…before we run the spec cars we either run shuffle races or pick a recommended car and run those. If we run shuffle races you don’t need to know anything as you can’t change anything but when we run recommended someone arbitrarily chooses a car to run and we all pick the same car. Then we decide on which tyre compound to use and we all use the same tyre. We will announce which car is chosen (or you can see which ones other have on the lounge screen) and which tyre’s to use (usually we stick with the default compound but it doesn’t really matter)

Recommended car…in the lounge select the garage icon and then on the left hand side of the next screen choose the “recommended” tab and then simply find the chosen car on the right…we always announce the PP rating of these cars so you should sort the cars by PP rating (sort option on this screen) to find the car the easiest.

Tyre compound…under the driving options just choose the tyre compound we agree to.

Whether shuffle or recommended races we vote on every track we race and I try to remember to not run the same tracks we run the spec cars on which are the only predetermined tracks we run each week

Hey guys!  I'm in for this Thursday the 29th and the following week!  Have some work training so I will be around at night. Only thing is. I won't have the DLC car but, I do have several Nissan GTRs that I believe are from the SuperGT series. I'll check to see what the PP is on the ones I have...oh, and I'll try to drive them too. Wish me luck! LOL

Okay. Disregard the calling me message. I figured out how to describe this.

Get into the game then look on the main screen (where you have the icons to get into GT mode, etc.)  there is one to the far right that reads "Download Content" when you put the cursor over it. Go in there and then confirm that you want to download all that stuff. I have no idea why we have to do this after downloading it from the SF but we do. The track won't show up until you do this. Just check off all of the boxes for each piece of content and wait for it to load. When you go back to play the game the stuff will be there.

I took a brand new (had 0 miles) Lexus ENUS last night, did my minimal upgrades and the PP came to 625. That seemed right because my other Super GT car (had one with the exact build so we must have run this same car a long time ago) and i'ts PP rating was 633 which makes sense because it has 50 clicks on it. We will have to limit either the PP or HP rating on Thursday, no biggie.

Not sure what to make of no Spa InkaBod, I thought Snappy pisked up the same version and he does have Spa...should certainly be in the marketplace which isn't the easiest place to navigate...what wokrs for me is to find the GT5 game and then drill down into the available DLC, should be there.

Unless specifically pointed out the listed tracks are the full versions so it would be Tokyo R246 (forward not reverse) and Nurburgring full (F not G)

unless its named differently in game I can't seem to find it .I did go to the store front and typed GT5 in the search bar  and found all the DLC and nothing had the spa track  which also comes with a amusement space track for carts. So if anyone can help locating it , please let me know.

Thanks Snappy, Parcells forgot about that nuance. Only repeating what you guys have already figured out but you do have to go where Snappy said to "re-confirm" your decision to download DLC and all gifted/DLC cars need to be "retrieved" from the Semi in GT Mode before they show up in your garage. Other than the below tidbit I don't think there's anything of relevance but if there is I'll remember it after you guys figure it out.

Anyone can build a spec car but it is limited to the 200 or so cars available from the Dealership*** because every other car is a total crap shot based on your personal auction or whatever it is that changes after every careet event you run. Like racing/practising inbetween races(until everyone is ready) is Parcells personal GT5 favorite the flip side of the coin is, as far as I'm concerned, this game doesn't have 1000+ cars because there's 800 cars that may take for you forever to "come across" which is why we can't really race them right easy like.

*** It is feasible to use a car from the on-line dealership (I think it changes every two weeks - Craig??) but we must know well in advance so we can get the word out so all of us can purchase the car before we race it...we've done this once or twice before.

That is correct, the online car dealership ("OCD") changes its inventory every two weeks.  The user car dealership ("UCD") changes with every race you complete and completely turns over after four or five races.  When we have used a "standard" car, not available in the new car dealership ("NCD"), we have gotten the car from the OCD.

Something else relevant came to me...most of us agree (I think we do) that the physics are slightly more difficult on-line vs. career/practice. Hard to describe but maybe a bit more slippery on-line so you may want to consider "practising" in your lounge (or any friends lounge it really don't matter) to not get caught off guard???

Parcells, some of the Super GT cars will probably not go up to 650 and so I suggest you consider making the PP limit lower, say 630, so that any Super GT car will work.

Pretty desperate story Wheels but not sure if it tops my stupidity a month ago when I couldn’t race (thought my wheel was broken) because I plugged the PS3 cord into the PC socket of the Fanatec. Although I did manage to confirm the two are not interchangeable so not a complete loss I keep telling myself.
