Okay, so, and maybe I misse this part. Will it record off cable? And can it be scheduled to record while I'm out? And will it record when I beat Fitzy again on Forza?
Inquiring minds want to know!
I suppose it's possible, what's the lifespan of a console 7 or 8 years. Still unlikely though.

Fitzy, you are a cuddly one, howEVER did you reproduce?
Like others have said, lets wait to pull out the pitch forks until we get official pricing, details, abilities, and etc. before we carpet bomb MS. I am "hoping" they get their crap together for E3 and understand that definitive answers are the only answers to give. Ambiguity and confusion only bread snap judgement hysteria and leave zero positivie feelings about things.
As far as the privacy thing is concerned, if you are truly worried about it (and I understand peoples worries) you do have a few options:
1. Pull the power plug out of the wall, no power means no one can access it when you are not using it, period.
2. Print out a picture of Doodi and prop it up in front of the kinect when you are not home, so if a hacker some how hacks MS servers and taps into your kinect via a secrect government spying program they will be disappointed and probably throw up a little in their mouths.

I think maybe a couple of us should launch a little startup selling a stitched, gamer themed screen printed Kinect cover. Make a mint on it. :)

To be honest, I was just thinking to myself if a company makes a product to just cover the thing that'd probably sell nicely if it has a nice design.
If you do that and make it for the dimensions of the system, and have it in stores in time for launch you could make some nice money.
No need to wait for E3 ! Yes the games will look awesome of course it will its a more powerful system ,DUH!
Why it sucks !
! -I have a remote that turns on all of my electronics
2-Used games will come with a fee to play on your personal xbox one. Even after purchasing from gamestop (that's if there still in business) .BYE BYE Gamefly.
3-If I lend game to a friend and allow him to use my gamertag to play game on his system to avoid a fee, I can't play the game on my system even if its on my hard drive because he is using my GT to play the game on his system.
4-No headphones made to date will work with xbox one (Tritton,Turtle Beach and Astro) unless its Microsofts new licensed proprietary technology. So there goes the aftermarket companies trying to make inexpensive headphones.

I guess its time to put my money into a PC.
Just Thinking out loud !
The only concern of those I see as being real once all is detailed and revealed, is the first one.
The "fee" is the full game price. It isn't a 10 dollar online pass. To understand this, read the last few pages of the thread about installs and borrowing discs.
Game lending can probably be done digitally - no need for a disc after the very first install.
Gamestop will probably be fine, and I'm betting they and gamefly will be able to verify a game isn't tied to a console anymore.
Companies that make headphones will probably continue to make headphones.
I don't feel like repeating myself yet again to detail these reasons. Microsoft needs to make things official and clear so that people can read official words instead of having to read the thread they post concerns in.

I personally think that if people are going to post something in an Internet forum thread, they should do at least a little reading of previous posts in that thread first. I hope that isn't too much to ask, and I think it's something that can apply across any internet forum.

Astro will make a new headset under the Microsoft guideline and I'll buy it. I have the original wireless set up and its awesome. So I'll give them more money.
It just amazes me that a console that was so gamer friendly is adding all this features that will surely take away for its gaming power to run things that a large part of hard core gamers will never use . Meaning that developers will have a lot less power to run there games. That qoute comes from the creator/ developer of the Fable game series when being interviewed by IGN podcast.

Even if it uses the 3GB of RAM for OS, as it's been said - there's still 5GB for gaming which is more than most PCs have these days.

I believe its only going to have 5gb of ram not 8 like the ps4 . I could be wrong.

A bargain bin budget PC maybe... Even a mid-grade gaming PC has 8g of DDR3 with discreet graphics running 1g of GDDR5 at least. Anything at the enthusiast level, crushes the current specs released. Let's not discuss something top of the line.
2nd, this won't have 5g to run games. You will still need momory to run all the other apps and BS this thing is going to be doing. Anything more than 3g will be a waste with the architecture. Most likely, you will be using 2g at best and 1g realisticly for graphics and even then it will need to share slow DDR3 thanks to the graphics being integrated. Lets face it, this memory wont be running at blistering speeds either. If it hits 1600, I would be impressed.
I am not knocking the system. It looks fine to me for what it is, an all purpose entertainment machine. What I am knocking is the XBL service, the poor customer service and the blistering cost associated with owning a console. They are stuffing everything I don't like into this thing and nothing I would like to have.

Yet, distributed computing can provide gaming power far beyond the hardware that comes inside the console itself.
As for headsets, the new data port on the controller is a sign there are other kinds of accessories that needed to go there. It seems mostly to be a matter of they are not going to put a legacy port for third party accessory headsets on console box itself and the controller.
They've also said they haven't unveiled their plan for headsets or other controller accessories yet, so again, wait and see.

Microsoft: 'Only Xbox One controllers, accessories will work with the new console.'
Microsoft confirmed to Joystiq only Xbox One controllers and accessories are supported by the new console. The new system won't support the Xbox 360 controller or Xbox 360 Kinect. When approached, a Microsoft spokesperson provided us with the following statement:
"Xbox One was designed from the ground up with entirely new technology to deliver a new generation of experiences for both games and entertainment For example, the Wireless Controller will connect to the console using high speed data transfer to enable higher fidelity headset audio and future controller add-on experiences that are not possible with Xbox 360 wireless technology. Additionally, the all-new Kinect sensor's ability to locate the wireless controller is dependent on new technology. In order for Xbox One to deliver robust, meaningful gaming scenarios for all users across all experiences, only Xbox One controllers and accessories will work with the new console."
However, while it isn't explicitly said, Microsoft's statement seems to indicate the Xbox One won't support any Xbox 360 accessories. When asked on Twitter if the new system supports Xbox 360 headsets, Xbox Support reiterated the statement we received, saying, "Only Xbox One accessories will work with Xbox One, which helps us deliver better headset audio and other benefits."

.
I'm not sure why you posted this. We know only One controllers work with the One. Autarch is talking about other accessories and how they connect to the One controllers. Not using old 360 accessories.
It seems odd to me that Turtle Beaches, and others I suppose, that work on Microsoft OS PC's won't work on the new X Box? I mean, to me, and I'm the unclean, uneducated village idiot talking here, it seems to me they went out of their way to do that?
everyone knows the new controllers use Wifi Direct (WiDi) not RF, right? Will be much better voice and even quicker response times. Probably also part of the reason for the new seemingly digital connector.
The 5 gigabytes versus the 8 gigabytes of RAM that Microsoft officially showed during the event itself (pictured) is a perfect example of people leaping ton conclusions based solely on hearsay with no attempt to verify anything.
Either wait for official information, or at the very least use the official information that IS available instead of a rumor.
This is how I see it as a causual gamer. In the 8 years I've owned my Xbox 360...I am on my 3rd console, have spent thousands in the 8 years in games, mic's, downloads, ect. While that's a lot of money spent, it has taken 8 years to talley up that number. With XB1...I forsee thousands of dollars spent within the first 6 months of release, with all the fee's, the new games, the new mic's etc. And what means of "Red Ring of Death" will the XB1 present for having to "be on" all the time? Its not suprising they haven't listed a price for the cinderblock looking console...I'm guessing bare bones it will be at least $400/$500. That was the reason I got the Xbox 360 over the PS3 at the time, was more affordable.
Until all the unanswered questions are answered, and all the facts come out....even without any numbers being presented, I can confortably say that, it would be fiscally unresponsable for ME at this time to jump ship and climb aboard the XB1.
BTW....forgive me if this has been talked about, once the XB1 goes online, and up and running....will the live servers for the Xbox 360 be shut down?

For your last part - unlike the original Xbox, they are going to support Xbox 360 after the new console is launched for quite some time. They are also going to talk about this at E3 apparently.
For the costs - Xbox Live Gold works between both, so you won't need a new or separate membership for the new console. Also, their plan as they say is to get it in every living room. Obviously that is more than just gamers this time, and a high price would definitely detract from people looking to purchase it with no intent to play games. A high price is counter to their plans, and a low one is easier to recoup this time with additional services and such.
About other costs - There is no need to buy tons of games at launch, as well as accessories, headsets, and everything ever immediately, right? Would it be easier to buy the console, and the launch title or two you are most interested in playing? One with multiplayer could easily last until another is affordable after all. Buying every single hardware, game, app, service, and accessory at once would be bad money use, but there is no reason to do that either, is there?
About RROD - I can only hope and assume that the Xbox 360 launch hardware issues made Microsoft ridiculously strict in quality control and hardware testing before launch. You can bet they are completely unwilling to repeat that and that it is motivation to not have it again. Also, with the power states they mentioned, it seems to have less heat and power draw than Xbox 360 too.
I suppose it's possible, what's the lifespan of a console 7 or 8 years. Still unlikely though.
Fitzy, you are a cuddly one, howEVER did you reproduce?
In IGN poll, only a small percentage of people happy with what was shown, everyone else pretty much hated it.

No one knows - there is an input on the controller and it may well have an easy to get adapter to convert to an 1/8" input.
