I got to C and kinda burned out, just run GBR races there now. Also a lot of my race time is taken up with my commitments in a certain other sim, and getting anywhere in iRacing takes a lot of time (for me anyway)
Didn't realize my subscription was on auto renew and got dinged paying for 3 months that I probably won't run. I haven't ran since my last gbr Sunday victory :)
i don't mind the game at all, but I just found no interest in any of the car content and I like to bump and rub and don't feel you should be penalized for minor incidents....maybe ill return down the road if and when the btcc content is added and that's only if the other sims haven't been released by than but in all honesty the price is too much to continue a career if raceroom does it right chances are my pay to play game will be that one :)
My career is going great. Had a productive 1st full season. Got 1st in my division in the IndyCar fixed oval series. Also had a few wins in the IndyCar. Got a few other placings for some time trial championships including 1st in my division for the Corvette in the GT Challenge series.
On the oval side, I have limited my racing to the IndyCars. Because of my success with the IndyCar, my oval iRating has jumped to over 3200. This puts me in top splits in most oval races I enter, but the only one I can compete in is the IndyCars. In all of the NASCAR racing series, I am in way over my head. I just joined a league for IndyCar fixed oval racing and I am looking for a league to run some NASCAR type events.
On the road side, I am just a middle of the pack driver for now. I keep my iRating low so I can run in the lower splits and at least be somewhat competitive. I've been running the Corvette in the GT Challenge series, Riley DP and McLaren in the Grand Am Sports Car series, Star Mazda in the Star Mazda Series, and Caddy in the World Challenge series. I am also in a league which runs a GT event using the Riley DP, McLaren and Ford GT every other Saturday and the Star Mazda on the alternate Saturdays.
I also run every GBR iRacing event. Right now we are limited to 2 a month on the 2nd and 4th Sunday.
If you haven't run iRacing lately, check it out. They had a big update a few weeks ago that really affected a lot of cars for the better. The Corvette and Caddy especially are now actually enjoyable to drive. They still require good throttle control, but nothing like before. If you need setups, let me know. I have been given some great setups for the Corvette, Caddy, Star Mazda, and McLaren.
Another thing to look into for variety is leagues and hosted races. There are hundreds of leagues and many hosted races going on all the time. Since iRating and SR are not affected, sometimes you can find some of that door-to-door rubbin is racing kind of races if you are looking for that. I have even seen hosted demolition derby races. Anything can happen in hosted rooms.
They must of got tired of listening to people complaining about not having there annual 50% off fathers days sale that it would best to do one ASAP :)
i told myself I wouldn't spend any more cash on this game till the btcc cars and tracks were released and got good reviews....but I suspect by then 4 other games will be released by than that will be keeping me busy.....the game is great but not enough content to my liking which I can't justify the cost of .
well i fired up iracing for the first time since my last win in the gbr series back in feb :) little did i know i had it set to auto renew :( so i have a membership till mid aug so i thought id get my moneys worth and run it for atleast 10 min.....first impressions the ffb felt smoother and the cars had much more grip but when the ass kicks out theres still little to no warning or much of a chance to catch it but still alot better than before....will i run it till aug probably if iam bored. I know i sound like a broken record but I just have no interest in the cars....IT NEEDS MORE EURO CARS!!!!!! Audi, BMW and Seat and I would really enjoy it , oh ya and eliminate that damn 1 tire off the track x1 penalty F$%K that enoys me.....all road racing rules state min 2 tires on the track.
@ Tartan maybe ill pull out the caddy some time and race your cute little KIA ;)
i dont know what the kia sounds like in the game but i was pretty impressed when i heard it in Austin it was just as loud as the caddy and that thing was deafening!
Tartan iam not sure if your running the kia still but iam gonna run the caddy for the last week if ya wanna meet up. I must say the latest update to the physics and grip are awesome! way more than before but not enough to keep ya on your toes :)
Ya it should be the caddy is a gt car and the Kia is street modified if iam correct not sure why they didn't put it up against one of the other gt cars but oh we'll one of the downsides of iracing is not having multiple cars per class
Ended up getting both Lotus 49 and Gilles Villeneuve circuit.
Was running with the Radicals team for a bit of a laugh.
Car is so much fun but such hard work to drive.
Still amazed how the fastest guy was under 4 seconds faster than me.
Is the Kia worth buying? Ill probably buy it and the last 3 road tracks to have all of them
I think so. I did several races last season with it and it was a lot of fun. Very different than the Caddy. I found that I had to be careful about the understeer. FFB and physics are awesome. Car sounds great as well.
Best wait to see how it is implemented for the next season on Monday.

As im not sure if the cars are eligable with a custom skin.
I might be interested in this, as much as I dislike the way iRacing does some things I suppose I may as well get some more use out of the Sim than just running GBR races.
Ya it was in regards to the fanatec competition, I run the solstice, vette and mx5 for the most part if you could do a paint for any that are applicable. Zero was saying he runs the the caddy/ Kia series every sat sun @ 5:45 am pmt which is 6:45 my time and I believe 1:45pm your guys time? Just not sure if we will all get into the same lobby cause its not a hosted server ? But it would be fun to run the lobbies as a team and paints would be great :)
edit: I could get up that early fri and sat...Sundays I let the wife sleep in and the kids usually wake up at 5:30 so that's a no go
Renewed my membership for a few more months and bought the Kia I don't think I've ever encountered a fwd as difficult as this one...it's slowly coming but still very unpredictable under braking....iam thinking my brakes are set to high causing them to lockup and spin if I add any steering movement....not much to tune on this car either? Best I could mustard at mid Ohio was a 1.30.1xx :s if I could control the car better under braking I think I could make it into the 28's but in its current state iam lucky to get under 32's

Just ran my first multi class at Watkins with the Riley Prototype.
Spun twice and came fifth.
Was battling with the top three until I lost it at that bloody tight uphill left as you leave the boot circuit.
Pissed off but I'll take it.
On the subject of skins, are there any specific styles you guys would like?
