Oh dear. Atrociously written (not English, fair enough), and it is based on an assumption that it is MS that is standing in the way.

The fact is that there simply is no clarity on that.

Not sure I want my name on something like that. Need to consider it.

There is no word on that except for very vague, ambiguous statements by Thomas at Fanatec. Can't see much profit in it for anyone selling adaptors, but maybe. At least I may have something to fill the void while I wait for a definitive answer and or save for a new top end wheel that is compatible.

WTH - I'll sign it.

At this point I believe the wheel will not work day one of console release . I believe that is why Thomas is taking the wait and see appoarch. Which IMO means lets get a hold on the console take it apart and see what parameters we have to work with . Then at that point they can make a adapter or something that will allow there wheels to work. I have pre-ordered the Thrustmaster wheel for the xbox one just in case the Csr Elite does not work .  If they do create something that will allow them to work I will sell either wheel  at that time. This will also allow me to test the difference between the Csr Elite and the Thrustmaster.

If only.

Its bullshit. Been sitting there for days and I can find no back up.

Got linked over at FM.net last week and that arse hat wormburner shut talk of it down very quickly including pm'ing me a threat of a ban for suggesting it was "idiocy" that prompted someone to post the wiki update. He misread my post it seems. Lazy moderating.

Yes, but continues not to be referenced and verified. If a confirmed official source could be pin pointed then fine, but wikipedia is notoriously unreliable.

The original entry claimed Dan Greenwalt mentioned CSR/E compat to a German fan site - apparently. Not that I can find, and I speak pretty good German.

FWheel and 911.de would be lousy with it if it were true. The link below contains the original wiki text.

http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/10230

This is why Wiki is notoriously unreliable and relying on it for facts very risky.

The statement is still BS. It has no back up.

Here's the link you should be paying attention to....

Until Thomas posts that the existing wheels are or are not XBox One compatibile, anything you read is at best, speculation.

Here's the last official word we've gotten from Thomas at the end of August.

Quote:
A few people are wondering why we are so quiet.
We will not make the mistake again to mention new things too early. We will announce something new if production is about to start. We are working on several products for several platforms and every one of our new products will set a new benchmark as they did in the past. We are also trying hard to protect the investment of our existing customers by making our current products upwards compatible. But we cannot confirm that before the final consoles are released.

smiley Most likely I got the link from one of your previous posts when the whole compatibility issue started.  It's nice to have a link straight to the source.

Taken from that same wiki article: Swiss Alps and Silverstone are carried over from FM4, that would mean no new layout for Silverstone. Can't realy imagine that.

The article is wrong again.

Guys, this wiki article has been written by a clueless arse hat. Either incompetent or an intentional troll.

New Silverstone is in. Both tracks reworked.

I have no faith that any Fanatec wheel will work with the Xbox One, hence why I canceled my Xbox One and Forza 5 pre-order.

Yeah, I know. Chances are now very poor.

I have the XB on order and FM5 LCE.

I'll pick those up but leave them sealed. I have Race 07 to get to grips with.

I'll ask everyone for ££££'s at Christmas towards the thrustmaster. Can't face flogging the elite. Its so damned good. FM4 and PC should keep that worthwhile.

I will be running Forza 4 for at least another year. Going to put the money with my other "Buy a BMW" money. Excited for March now :)

I'm still in the "how am I going to afford it" boat...

I did pre-order the LE game itself, don't you know that sitting on the shelf's gonna bug the crap outta me...

The Beemer gets my vote church. To be honest the only reason I still have the console on order is my misplaced optimism the somehow the fanatec miracle might happen.

If its sealed, I reckon I might get more for the xbone come Xmas than I paid for it. At the worst I'll make a small loss.

The LCE will remain firmly in my possession though.

I think it is clear, Xbox 360 compatible wheels will not work on Xbox One, nor will any other existing wheels.

Although I am dissappointed, I am not surprised.  I must admit, however, that both the Thrustmaster and Mad Catz wheels are quite nice.

Does this confirm it?

No, but it does give us an idea on some of the challenges they're facing.

We've known for quite some time that XBox 360 wheels won't work on the Xbox One but the Fanatec wheels are multi-platform devices. Thomas from Fanatec will be the only person that can confirm whether or not existing Fanatec Wheels can be updated to work on the XBox One.  [speculation]I'll be very surprised if we get an answer from Thomas before the end of the year.[/speculation]

I have my doubts about upgrading the existing wheels but since I'm not going to be getting the XBox One for a while I can afford to wait Fanatec out and weigh my options from there.
