Well, I got mine yesterday and I can confirm that it is a complete and total piece of shit.  That's not to say all PS4's are bad, however mine is better used as a door stop than a gaming system.

I have yet to successfully boot ANY game. Full lock up with no way to power down or reboot

I can't connect to PSN (known issue, but that doenst make it ok)

I can't add any funds to the wallet (errors out and tells me my card is wrong)

So yeah, in terms of a launch this Sony product is complete and utter garbage.  I've seen plenty of people that have there systems work fine however and even our own Hitman spent a whole day on stream playing.  However, as much as I'm happy for everyone else, for me I'm already regretting giving Sony any of my money for this POS.  Heck at least with the red ring of dealth you could play your system for a while....

I have never been able to add money on the PSN via debit card. I'm not sure what the issue is but I either have to buy cards or use paypal. If you hold down the power button for 7 seconds it should do a hard shut down similar to a PC. I am unsure why you're unable to boot a game.

Had mine running for 24 hours straight and no issues except the PSN crashing due to high volume. Everyone on my FL has had 0 issues. Makes me wonder where these people got their systems from and what the manufacture date was. Could be a bad run. Oh and after 24 hours it is still quiet as can be. Very happy with the performance and how beautiful games look.

What he said. My only issue is with BF4 and I doubt that is sony's issue but more good 'ol EA.

I think the problem Sony has now is the dawn of instant communication. If only 0.4% of units have died the whole world is going to know about it. Bummer for doodi though :(

We live in a different world compared to 2005. I will expect the same when the Xbox One is released.

Mine works fine now. Or it did, not playing it at the momment.  Just took hours to actually use it. I couldn't import my PSN profile. It was frustrating, hours of spinning and please wait only to get a error code or dissconnect code and have to enter my info again. I can't imagine the frustration if it didn't work at all. I read about the HDMI issue and just somewhat carefully plugged it in.

I dont like the lack of customization of the XMBar or background. I really wanted orange instead of blue.

Lets hope the XboxOne launch goes as smooth or smoother. Hopefully they have their online servers ready to handle the load.

Yup you wanna be the first to own any tech your gonna run the risk of suffering the teething problems that are bound to arise. Sucks but that is the way it is. What matters is how they deal with it, how quickly they deal with it and how far into release the issue lasts, in the case of the RROD it took 3 consoles and as many years in my case...well actually now I think on it 4 consoles I forgot the last one because they overlapped, the third console lasted just long enough to set up the new one and RROD'd the same day LOL

I really do hope sony can get things on track so there is good competition cause that's what we need so both sides keep raising the bar to get ahead.

My PS4 came from Amazon and it's running perfectly fine. Out of all the people on this site, there is only one person having issues with their PS4. I guess Doodi makes two but I blame his issues on user error. :)

That other story is complete bullshit. Someone posted on the IGN forum that they sabotaged the PS4 production plant? Whatever. What is this, Fox News?

My PS4 just failed this morning.(11/17) No video out. Lasted through Sat after launch. I got mine at Gamestop so I don't think this is a damaged in shipment issue.

Oddly enough I decided to try the HDMI that was plugged into my 360.....surprise it is back. What would cause an issue like that? Yes the 360 works on the HDMI cable that was running the PS4. Something isn't right here.

Didn't you hear? The foxconn plant was sabotaged by unhappy workers.

In all seriousness, that totally sucks. Hopefully Sony will replace it as soon as possible. Are you able to take it back to Gamestop?

I read two articles that sounded like they were written by 10th graders. I'd try a different cable before i did anything.

IF that Foxxconn article has any basis in truth, maybe something inside the case was left unconnected and a company fix will be easy. A lot of maybe's though.

Truthfully, this is where we see if Sony's customer service rises to the occasion and shines or smells.

This is why I am buying my X1 from Best Buy along with their protection plan.  Atleast I have a backup to MS's coverage.

Sucks to see anyone having problems and I hope everything gets taken care of quickly.

The Foxconn sabotage story sounds crazy and ridiculous, BUT iPhone construction plants (including ones at Foxconn) needed to install suicide nets to keep their workers alive. http://m.cnet.com/photos/the-making-of-an-iphone-pictures/10013733

just so people know, the workers suiciding were not because of working conditions but because they wanted the insurance money for their families.

I think thats going to be the main issue of all this talk. People worried its going to brick.

Don't worry though because you will get a new one if it dies. Just enjoy it man!

Exactly. I have no doubt in my mind SONY will take care of any issues after all they have a lot riding on the success of the PS4.

it's not new news.  it's old.

it was because they were dying on the job that way.  I don't know the details though.  Maybe to do with laws there.
