Fanatec Wheel and GT6
Ok Guys, I can navigate with the buttons on the wheel in game but when I go to actually race, no steering or wheel inputs are being recognized? Is there something Im doing wrong? Im using CSR wheel with CSR elite (not clubsport) wheel and pedals
Thanks
Had this happen a few times in gt5. What happens sometimes is I have to have the wheel in pc mode to navigate menus then ps3 mode to race. Hope that helps boss
That was it, I was not in PS3 mode. Now the next issue, is it just me or does it seem mushy to anyone else?
I maxed them out and it is better but I just dont feel the curbs like I do in FM4. The rest of the FFB feels fine now though
For my Fanatec CSW wheel, I use Simulation steering in game, with 8 out of 10 FFB. On wheel, I have SENS set to OFF, although 900 works well also. FFB and SHO on wheel are 100.
same here on GT2 and all working fine! Shame they never fixed the clutch from GT5 tho!!
Hey Grim, I saw a post on gt planet . some posted thier csr settings.I use to use the csr wheel in gt5 and I always had a hard time feeling the rumble strips.`
Felt some pretty good rumble strips earlier in fact they threw me all over the place.
Anyone got a link for optimal settings? Rumble strips are still weak for me.
Snappy, you might have the in-game FFB at the default setting of 5. I cranked that up to 8 and am getting plenty of FFB with my Fanatec CSW wheel, including rumble strips. If you still don't like 8, try 10. On wheel, I used SENS of 900 or OFF, FFB of 100, SHO of 100 and everything else either 0 or OFF.
I have actually had turned down the FFB a bit on the wheel (running at 80%) as the force on pavement seemed right for me at that setting and I have the Sho set at 100. I can feel the rumble strips but just barely and Im not sure you will get them any stronger.
That said, I cant find actual setting at gtplanet though just alot of talk about them
I found this over at gt planet.Wheel Sen. OFF (I have not noticed a real diifference between 900/off, recommended is off.)
FF 90-100% (756 firmware with ACL)
Sho 90-100% (normally 100% in GT6)
ABS 65% or OFF
All other settings off or 0
ingame ffb 6
ingame power assisted steering off
ingame wheel G25/G27
^ is what I use with CSR Wheel and select the G25 or G27 in game. I just refuse to drive X201X with it. I break out the DFGT. I will update with in game ffb setting! I think that I left ffb in game at 5 or 6. I Just don't like cranking up the ffb too much on these wheels after my G25 went out, but I did rewire the pedals to work with the DFGT.
i am going to try this. Thanks Rusty.
Has anyone managed to map the lights and wipers to buttons on the csr. I tried it in setting but nothing worked when racing
On my CSR Wheel Im using the G25 Racing Wheel #1 set up in game with L2 as "Flash and Toggle HighLow Beam" and R2 as "Windshield Wipers"
On the wheel itself:
L2 = the red LSB
R2 - the red RSB
Hope this helps
Cheers boss that done the trick :)
This SIM is freakin' awesome with this wheel!! I'm loving GT6 so much!
My favorites so far: Megane Challenge Race car, Scirocco GT24 and the Light Car Company Rocket. Oh, and that Renault Clio'11 they gift us is a nice little cr as well. I put some parts on it, wheels, a chip and suspension, and it is sweet. Great game!
Fanatec GT2 wheel - I find the steering "heavy" compared with Forza - on Forza I have force at 40 and wheel FFB at 100. For GT6 I dropped the game Force setting down to 3 (default is 5) and set DRI to 3, SPR and DPR both OFF and I feel I am arm wrestling wih the wheel all time. i How do you guys function with Force set to 10?
The CSR wheel might be different than the GT2. as both feel the same (except for the curbs/rumble strips feeling week but Im getting used to it now)
I'm running the GT2 on 100% FF/100% Shock on wheel and 10 in game and ended up having to put the spring force on the wheel to +1!
Now that I've actually looked for kerb force in game, the kerbs are very weak to me also Grim!
One thing I always hated about GT5 was the lack of controller input options and adjustments, and this seems to have transferred over to GT6 - hence the reason the clutch is totally unuseable. It kind of dampens the realisim for me, but I can live with it, just as I did in GT5. Better no clutch than a box full of neutrals in a braking zone at 140mph!!!
I'm really hitting the wall with the controller after Ib, looks like I need to pull out the wheel... I hope I can still use it reasonably well...
so the above settings work on the CSRP? Any new findings recently?
Youre gonna love the wheel. Glad to see your gonna try it.
I use the csr with the th8 shifter until today :( I can no longer get the th8 to work in gt6
I had been using the shifter since gt6 release but on Thursday night it stopped responding just before the Thursday track night it would only find 2nd and reverse gear in all the slots.
i turned on forza to find that it didn't work on that also but after an hour of messing about I got it working on both:) so I left for the night.
Tonight I turned on gt6 and it was not working again and no matter what I have tried I can't get it to do anything in gt6 at all:(.
The way I have it setup is wheel to ps3 shifter to wheel (brasher board) shifter to a powered usb hub because I have the tritton 720+ headset that is usb. It was all working since gt6 release and now no shifter the shifter does not even work direct usb to ps3 no more.
If any you guys with the th8 shifter have any ideas I would be great full. Oh and it still works on forza just not gt6
Stevie, have you tried power cycling the SFA-1 and re-calibrating the shifter? Basherboards has instructions on how to do this:
http://www.basherboards.com/support_sfa1
I have had this problem in the past but power cycling the SFA-1 and re-calibrating the shifter did the trick.
Done all that boss got it working but after powering down the wheel and ps3 for the night upon restarting both the next day the shifter didn't work at all.
iv done the power cycling again and got it working and it still works after a power down.:)
what I have noticed is that it will only work on cars with a Manual shifter and not for cars with paddle shifters. Didn't notice this before I try use the H shifter as much as I can .
Cheers for the help guys just hope it stays working
Strange, I've heard that combo is ideal though. I'd guess its a cable on the fritz. You at least narrowed it down to how it's hooked up to the boxes as they interface differently for both... Id hope its not the fanatec cable to the ps3... GT auto detects the periferals in game so perhaps something is interfering with that... Sorry I don't have a better suggestion.
only other thing it might be is that I heard they slightly modified the clutch action in an update but if it worked fine on the latest version then that can't be it.
Electrical gremlins are the worst...
How about rechecking the button mappings associated with your wheel within GT6 - maybe something got remapped to the wrong location
I have this same problem. I have the buttons mapped using the G25 setting. Wonder if it will work using a different wheel setting.
I use the g25 wheel settings in gt6 and have all the buttons mapped on the csr . I have also replaced all the cables and still no luck. It's strange how it still works perfect on forza but not gt anymore. I'll mess about with it on sat if I get time and see if I can get it sorted. Im just so used to using the H shifter on gt6 now its crap without it. :(. Cheers guys
