How long will it be before the Waypoint MCC forum is filled with requests for Infinity settings? Looks like a fun map overall for a variety of gametypes.

Here's to hoping folks that want such things are rounded up and prevented from buying Halo games in the future.
What's more possible is that someone will point them out the Fiesta variants, and tell them that H4 was pretty much Fiesta Slayer all the time.

The gaming population is not as simple as that. Even if old hands like us want the older Halo, we are not the population which motivates developers. Kids today are unpredictable and fairness through balance is not in their vocabulary. It's whiz, flash, bang and give me the treats. They don't want any hard shit. They want flashy shit.
Saying that, it still surprises me that us out of step gamers aren't listened to more since we buy a lot of games and the 'boomer tail waggers' like you are also fairly old. It seems like developers don't really like to be cuddling up to old people. Maybe they think it will ruin their appeal to the younglings.
You mean after it is on? It's on a timer to turn off automatically.
Dixon already suggested putting a forged block on it to prevent shooting it in the first place. Bleech to that.
Or since the old retail version of the map is available alongside the new fangled updated version, you can play that if the waterfall really gets your panties in a wad.

It might actually be interesting if you can't shoot or walk through the waterfalls. I'm happy enough already without the sprint, ordinances, and jetpacks.
If there are separate competitive and casual playlists and some configuration options, there should be something for everyone.
lol. the interections between Deep and Dixon are classic.
I LIKE NEW AND SHINY! NEW HALO EVERY YEAR!
I LIKE HALO 2 AND DON'T YOU EVER TAKE MY BR!
Pretty bad state of affairs when the old curmudgeon wants new stuff and the young pup doesn't want any change. What is the world coming to?
For the record, 343 helped to solve one of those problems Bungie always had, which was the starting weapon problem. I didn't like having loadouts as a mechanism to do it, but it certainly is a way to fix it. Now, all we need to do is jettison the AR, have clear, defined roles for the Carbine, DMR, BR, and whatever one or two precision weapons left (or dake the DMR out of that completely) and balance for the rest of the dozen or so weapons found in the sandbox and we're cool. You can even pick your starting weapon to fit the role you play, I suppose.
Tune up the graphics, remake a pinch of maps, have spiritual successors to a few more borderline maps, and the rest, fill in with original maps. Have enough chstomizability in Forge and the pregame lobby to make wacky gametypes and vehicles and you're all set.

Well, AR figures heavily into H5 already, as does the DMR.
BTW, Midship remake/reimagining is one of the maps.

Right. The AR is the olive branch to folks who aren't as skilled or who don't like to fight over a distance. The DMR is another option out there. I saw that Midship remake. That looks pretty, but has a lot of overhanging geometry in that one picture, it seems. That might cut down on some sight lines, which isn't necessarily a bad thing (but not what I'd prefer). We'll play on it and see how it goes.

Seriously, EFF you.
How about the BR is an olive branch to little pussies who like to cower in their hidey-holes, biding their time by repeatedly ramming the long smooth barrel up their arses because it feels so damn good to them.

So, you're taking that as a more personal attack despite the fact that sustained accuracy is at a premium in the Halo games. The AR is a closer range weapon and/or for folks who don't have that sustained accuracy skill.

Ease up with them hammers, Jed.
More than a few members of this forum are regularly stating things like the use of the AR implies that the user is some kind of knuckle dragging sub-human who has no business playing the game. I'm sick of the snarky elitism. You play your way, I'll play mine, but don't imply that ways other than yours are lesser . Check yourself, then I'll ease up with the hammers. Speaking of which, anyone who doesn't use a gravity hammer is just a no nothing noob who has no business playing the game.

I don't know, maybe it's only for plasma weapons since you don't need an extra reload button for those. Then again, maybe X will reload both guns like it did in H2. I would hate to go back to the Halo 3 button layout with 2 reload buttons. Reload should always be on the X button in my opinion.

It's a modified Halo 2 engine. Hence, dual wielding. I saw dual SMG in a different vid.
Man I just want Halo 2 with up to date graphics. I haven't looked at any Halo news for this game figuring it would be disappointing. I'll be playing the original versions. I don't need any sticks placed here and there so I don't have to crouch jump. No gimmick interactive stuff. I want the weapons to shoot the exact way they did. Leave in the button combos.
They should bring Headlong back too so while I'm waiting for my friends to get online I can hop into BTB convince teammates to bring the bomb to the hog and we'll drive it in. Then drive said hog off into the water killing everyone and laughing as everyone curses me. Well that probably wouldn't work now as nobody has mics or is in party chat not communicating. OK this last part was a joke but it is still the most hilarious thing about Halo 2 to me. lol
TL;DR version: General public cramming ARs in the face of others, for the most part, are the reason that more splosion-esque noob weapons get created and things like Ordinances are developed.
WOW!
The water switch is such icing on that cake!
The lighting!
The sounds!
The water switch is kind of lame, but I can overlook it. I bet you can forge a cover onto it.

Anyway, eff you Dixon.
Can the water switch be switched off?

So what does that say about Rocket Launcher fans?
ewwwww, TMI Deep.
Size queens.

*know
If it ain't broke, don't fix it?
Good God ...
Oh man, I just noticed at 0:58 you can see -
Hold X to pick up Plasma Pistol
Hold Y to dual-wield Plasma Pistol
Can you believe it?? Dual-wielding is back!
