I can't help but notice the special edition bundles (sunset overdrive, COD) are coming without Kinect. Wasn't the stand alone retail Kinect ONE announced as being $199? If so, that's quite a premium you'll end up paying to get a special edition console if you want to add Kinect to it after the fact. Although it looks like Gamestop has refurbished/used ones for $130.

what? I never heard them say that. The origina Kinect is still over $100 and the Kinect 2.0 is a lot more expensive and better tech. I think you're dreaming.
I can't even find XB1 Kinect for retail sale in Canada. I figure it can only be a $99 value based on console pricing. Microsoft still has it listed as "coming soon".
Right now I don't think Kinect is worth it and I was supportive of the bundle last year...Maybe it will be if they ever release games I want to buy for it. But right now it NEVER recognizes me and auto-signs me in. And I don't really use voice commands.
Dead Rising 3 was a great game. Watch Dogs I'm slowly getting through and it's worth playing. Other than that...I hope to turn on my Xbox One for games more frequently after this holiday season. It's sad having nobody to play with since most of my defunct clan/CoD friends are still on 360.
my son found that if you hit the button that says "I wasn't recognized", every time you xb1 does not recognize you, over time it gets better. Mine now finds me even in the dark.

They really haven't missed much. For the amount of time i've spent playing my ONE, i could have waited as well. I have one though, now if something came out I wanted to play on it.... that would be awesome!

I'm ready for Destiny I just finished watch Dogs, I loved it except for the 30 minutes of credits at the end blah!. I'm playing wolfenstein new order right now, lots of fun. As with any new console, its slow to begin but so much will be roled out, it is inevitable since theres too much moeny to be made and the new CEO of Microsoft seems to take the XBone lesson to heart. Adapt or get smashed!

Yeah I saw that. When does the holiday thing kick in? Beginning of November? If so...I'll be getting one the week of my Birthday (11/12/14). I'll go without a couple of meals to get that and the Master Chief collection. I may go and put one on layaway Monday morning after I get out of work so I know I'll have one for that price.
Destiny has chapped my ass so that's going on the shelf until Bungie gets their shit together. So I am looking forward to diving back into Halo hardcore with the fine folks here on 2old2play.
I'll probably go with the Sunset Overdrive bundle, because I've been really wanting to play that game, and having a white xbox will be a funny contrast with the rest of my electronics.
Lokks like the $349.00 set ups are no kinect and 500gig HDs? I'm really questioning a HD less than a terabyte with the game growing like they are. Then again, I don't usually buy too many.
As long as I can expand with an external hard drive later....I can overlook the 500gb thing. But you're right it will fill up pretty fast considering installs are required.

You can get a new kinect off amazon for $135-$150. And to tell you the truth, I don't expect the kinect to stay at the $199 price for too much longer
