Can't wait for it to release!
I've been testing it for 3 yrs now, it had its highs and lows but that development :)
It's certainly surpassed all my prior expectations when I first got evolved and hoped for.
Simply put it will be a step above any console racer we've had in the past for those looking for a racing experience with race features. Sure it doesn't have 500+ useless cars but atleast they will race worthy cars with full detailed interiors ;)
Even thinking of picking up an xbox1 so I can get in on some racing with you folks again !
Pre- Order, it will be worth it. The driving physics to any long time Forza or Gran Turismo players but they are still pretty good. Not the best quality video but the car and track are awesome together. Enjoy:
I really like this car, it's the Ariel Atom Mugen. Great car for a spec series. Again, not the best quality video. Expect that the graphics on console will be much better than what you see here in this video. Enjoy.
So, I think if you are remotely interested in this game that you should go ahead and pre-order. The physics are pretty good. Not at all like NFS Shift 2 or Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends. I tried to play both of those games. It was awful becasue I enjoyed the content, visuals and sounds in those titles but the physics were god awful. Felt like driving on balloons. The cars behaved oddly and weren't even consistent from lap to lap. This feels much better. Different from Forza and GT but once you get familiar you will be off and running. What I can say is that the feedback affects in the wheel that come from the road surfaces and going off the circuit are stronger. I will try to post more videos soon. Some night stuff and weather as well. I'm not an expert sim racer but you guys know I've been around and I can honestly say - this game excites me. Simply because of what we here could do to it. If you decide to wait and not pre-order I think you will still be fine. But at least put a deposit at GameStop or some place like that and just wait to pick it up. Will post more soon.
There is going to be a livery editor but I haven't seen what it will be like on the console. Right now, the only custom paints are being done using Photoshop, GIMP or some other image manipulation programs. I will try to download some of the skins out there and make a video to post here.
if they are using png's n such, you just need a template, copy paste. I had the Budweiser Clydsdales on a stock car once. Pretty, but anyone can do it.
Definitely pre-order, guys. Just did a race at Le Mans with the M1 Pro-Car with day night transition. It was a blast! The car felt good. The AI was a bit naughty at times. This is going to be very enjoyable. Skip to the 7 minute mark to see the night time driving. It's not even full darkness at that point either. Here you go:
Iam currently enjoying the renault clio cup in career mode. Simply a blast and the Ai is very competitive and for the most part safe.
Snappy send me an invite next time you see me on and I'll setup a room :)
Definitely Kurupt. I will look for you on Tuesday night. I will probably be on for a while. Have you driven the Lotus 98T? It's a beast! So awesome.
I agree with you on the AI. They will shut the door on you, take looks inside going into a corner and make mistakes that you can capitalize on. I've only seen AI like this in Raceroom Racing Experience and Project CARS. It's making the single player very addictive. Here are two videos:
4 lap race at Watkins Glen. The car I'm driving has great handling but it is down on speed to the other GT4 cars. They defend very well. It's only until they make mistakes that I am able to try and overtake without forcing it. It was one of the best quick races I've ever had against AI.
This video is a clip from a 4 lap race at Spa. The mustang gives me a hard time down the straights. When I stick my nose in the AI reacts, I guess I forced a mistake, and I'm am able to get along side. I get the inside line into the next corner but he still fights me (without making contact). I am able to get by and then set off after the BMW.
The last time i played forza was fm4 about 3 or 4 yrs ago so i cant speak for fm5. Comparing pcars physics to fm4 are night and day and really not much to compare.
Fm4 had no tire wear, degration, flat spotting, dirt pick up, weather, barometric pressure/altitude that effects engine hp, dynamic track where temperature change effects the tires based on hot/cold spots, puddles causing hydroplanning, multi layer tire model with sidewall flex also a cold to warm tire phase while tires build to proper temp.
Current racing game physic rates.
Pcars -600Hz
• rFactor 1 & 2 – 400Hz • Forza series – 360Hz • netKar Pro – 333Hz • iRacing – 360Hz
Bigger doesnt nessecarily mean better it just means a higher number can record more inputs/feedback per sec....the overall feel is based on the quality of coding for the ffb, which is also a personal preference as each one does there ffb differently. I find pcars ffb to focus mostly on the tire movement while encorporating body roll through the suspension.
I'll leave the complex explainations to Kurupt. He is much more experienced at sim racing than I am.
In more basic/"layman's" terms I can say this. Tires need to warm up in order to get some grip into them. Visually, the "sense of speed" is not as intense. The cars get progressively more challenging to drive once you start pushing them to the limit. Especially at the start of the race when the tires are cold. The FFB and physics have developed over time and I personally feel that they are very good right now. I haven't made any changes to the default FFB settings but they are tweakable within the menus.
It's not the same as Forza 4 but just as good. It's hard to describe, at least for me it is. I was cautiously optimistic about pCARS before but now it's getting exciting. I will put together a video in the next day or so which will show you the tuning menu and someof the other features (weather, difficulting, FFB settings, etc.). If you guys have requests for specific types of video just post it here and I will try my best to make them.
Getting close...
Kinda saw this one coming :( but its for the better!

I have no problem with a delay. Better to get the game right then put out something flawed. But, then again, I get daily builds and can keep testing.
Delays are better then releasing a broken game. However I refuse to preorder games anymore due to all the junk that keeps getting released.

I've been curious what the livery editor is like. Can someone enlighten me? I'm sure it is nothing like Forza
Don't know there is one.

Looks like a great time...in your opinion how are the physics compared to Forza
