Thanks guys, I'll have to give these ideas a shot. I know I can run a fast lap with no traffic, but It's the bunching them up that can be problematic for me.
I think I mentioned this before... the speed I was going at ranged between 30 and 40 or so. 30 or so in the turns and 40ish on the straights. I would stay in first as long as possible (banging the limiter all the time) and only use 2nd to accel up when they get antsy and then brake check them until they relax and then slow drive again until the final section where you want to romp on it and run your real lap.
just watched me monkey 8 me's lap, he didnt cheat/glitch. he did 11 laps, his previous lap was around 1 minute and his fastest was also around 1 minute. to check to see if someone glitched just look at their last lap time. if it's way longer than their fastest time you know that they held up traffic.
I ran totally drunk after the Rangers game last nite (LETS GO RANGERS!) on my ACyberDruid account in the same MX-5 Superlight on my SF, East garage and that I gifted out and ran a 1:00.260 so it is doable without holding back the traffic for sure. If I was sober I know I could have got down to the 59s.
I guess my S2000 I used at the beginning of the month either wasn't up to the task or I simply gave up before getting into a rhythm.
The Superlight did awesome in diving inbetween cars. I'll try again most likely with the ACD account sober to see what I can do. It's still frustrating but not impossible for sure.
So I tried again last nite on my ACyberDruid account and got a 58.9 normally (I even saved the replay). Later I ran a 58.0x on my normal account but my traffic blocking time was faster.
I think lap 2 or 3 were the ones I hit decent traffic but there were some laps if I drove around 5 or more, that there were certain sections lap after lap some hummer was always in the middle of a turn with no room to pass without leaving the track.
I would have to say that is probably the toughest Bounty Hunter yet. With that time, IF the prize car is something desirable (still no word on what it is!), there are going to be a lot of irate people. I say block traffic to beat that time if you have to.
MURPH got a #26 on the LB (54.971) with the F1SH0 Gen 1 Miata tune I sent out to a bunch of folks last night. It's available for free in my SF.
I can go lower if need be with blocking traffic and get my second account under the new bounty time without blocking provided I don't have a heart attack trying. I know I can get the 58s, and have, relatively quickly last nite but lower than that is going to take a ton of luck to get the perfect pattern in front of me.
@Rocket: I tried that Fisho tune last nite. I liked it but for some reason I couldn't get the same times as the Superlight. ACD's 58.9 (no blocking) was run in dog8mysk8's SUperlight tune (would love to have that gifted over... need to send him a friend request!) in the D2NR garage (I forgot to gift my tune to myself! hehe) and I liked that one too. I think any car with handling 6.3 or higher with accel 6.5 or higher and decent brakes can do the time so it looks like all the MXs have a shot at a good time.
It's going to take some dedication, and we still don't know what the reward is. I suspect the delay might be due to the fact that only T10 can gift Unicorns, and MM8M requested a Unicorn car as a reward. Or maybe not. Who knows. It would be so much better if we knew what the reward would be.
Thank you for the Miata tune, M3. After several frustrating runs and bending traffic to my will I ran a 56.9xx.
Thank God that's over.
Wouldn't mind the GT500, the Civic, the M3 or the Supra. Knowing my luck it'll be another RX7.
Good deal! I would appreciate if you got the tune directly from me if you would still visit my SF and download it for free again (delete it afterwards) and rate it. Let us know how you do with it Ftizy!
BTW--a little mammal whispered in my ear this weekend and told me the reward car will not be a Unicorn. :(
Sorry, I got annoyed last nite and gave up on it. I was running 56s but I couldn't beat my last time without blocking. I got drunk trying and then ran once with blocking and well, I beat my time.
Problem though... I was a tad drunk and I didn't realize I was driving a Gen2 I had, not the Gen1!
D'OH!
For kicks, I ran some quick hotlaps on Ladera (circuit, not this rival mode) and for whatever reason, my Superlight and Gen2 would give me better laps time and time again. I couldn't get the times in the Gen1. For me the one section I noticed a major difference was the high banked chicane entering the last straight. The balance in the Gen1 caused me to drop down to low 80s where in the Gen2 and Superlight I could get through that section in the upper 80s and even right at 90. That I think was the difference between the three cars and why I was always .5 seconds slower in the Gen1.

Yep. I would think 2 to 3 seconds easy without traffic. I clocked a 58.325 in the 2nd lap with cold tires and without traffic blocking.

Yeah, when I did it last night, i think I dropped 6 seconds off, and that was with hitting some traffic at the end.

giving his time a go without glitching -- wheel died 2 weeks ago and i cant drive with a controller at all.

Something about a particular traffic pattern--lowered my time to 57.850 again on the 2nd lap with cold tires and without traffic blocking tonight.

Anyway... done with this now. ugghhh
MM8M just posted a new time: 58.033 (#753 on LB)

Yeah... Not sure I'll get that fast...
Thanks for the tune Rocket.... helped me get into the 57's

I can avoid the cars, how do you avoid the damn dirty air penalty?
Final time to beat--it's a whopper: 57.351

crap... .036 !
Come on! Back into traffic I go..........
Ha! I've got better things to do! If a unicorn does end up as the prize, a chance for said unicorn will come again sooner or later...
Where can I get this Mita tune M3.
Is it on your SF btw?
Hey CP--tune is on my SF for free. Or I can send it to you later tonight when I get on my xbox--though I can't remember whether you are on my FL.
WIll pick it up from your SF later tonight. Cheers fella I really need to get cracking with this one lol
I will get the tune from your SF later M3 and give this one a go, I never was a fan of Track Days but I always was a fan of Monkeys work.
M3 was your miata tune mentioned on rear view mirror on Forza.net?
CP--I sent you the tune a couple of days ago. Fitzy--RVM is out for this week? I can't find it.

I know its just me and my driving style.
I won't be trying this event again though.
If there is no unicorn being awarded, I don't feel so bad in not banging my head against the wall on this one... What a shitty rival event..
