I ran my best lap for the TT this morning, but like the dumbass I am, I forgot to save the replay...anyway, if it counts my lap is on the leader boards.
I will pm the lap time to you ModelT if it is elegabile cool. If not that's cool too. By the way, that Viper is a bitch. Good choice!
Do not read any further if you don't want to ruin your race fun.
Finished my run in the Viper. An handful to say the least. On full alert for all of the 25 laps. Never a chance to rest in this car on this track. Worked my way to the front by lap ? Lol. Then did the mandatory pit on lap 15 and came out in the middle of traffic on cold tyres. Then had to work my way into the lead again and finished first by the end of the race. BL was a 1'24.195. Which I'm very happy with considering that in these races I usually dial it down a notch or two just to make sure that I don't make any major mistakes. No damage at all.
The gauntlet has been thrown down for all to pick up. Come on you speedsters. I dare you!!!!!!
Replay on my SF under ALMS2012MLS. I reserve the right to run it again. Maybe with some of you just to pass the time of day.
Race Deadline for MLS is one week away. See post #2. Only one submission besides mine so far. Haven't opened it. Still plenty of time for you slackers to attempt the corkscrew 25 times in the Viper. It's really not that hard. You just need to be a good driver. Rubbin another car is only fun if there are consequences. Sort of like sex. If you suck she'll dump you.
Done. First time in 2 weeks I have fired up the Xbox for more than 20 minutes. Shattered. Pm'd details.
And then there were 3. I would have thought there were more guys with guts to tackle the Viper. But maybe that "snake" just scared them away.
Next month the ALMS is on hiatus because of the 24 hours of LeMans. But we will have two very short races (4 laps each, I think) with past cars from the 24 hour races to run. Tuned by Sarcasmo Jones.
Then we will run the Jaguar and Panoz (both 752 PI) in a 40 lapper on Iberian FC reverse. Tuned by Ziggy-Proline.
I have always really liked the Viper but the AI is ridiculous.
I lead the race lap 7-16. After pitting and trying to work my way back to the front my car is rammed mercillessly yet the AI car(s) sped away while I seethe with 100% damage all around and engine/transmission damage in the 25-35% range. So salty that I had to roll a wreck the last 3 laps doing high 1.30s when I had been consistently in the 1.24-1.26 range...

Too true. The Forza AI usually behaves like a spoilt Timmy, and with similar levels of skill.
And they are using that in Horizon and saying that it's a positive. LOL. Seriously.
I went like a bat out of hell to pass the field as early as possible. Have to say I don't play nicely with the AI, but have learnt how to minimise damage whilst being forceful.

I must respectfully disagree with you. On Full Sim I have found the AI rather polite. On other settings they act like drunken fools. But I keep a close eye on what's coming up in my rear view mirror. I am a very conservative driver though. I don't try to squeeze through any opening I know won't be there. Trying too much to be like a RL driver I guess. I just take my time and pick my spots. It's a longer race and I enjoy the trip. Check out my replay. Slow and sure.
You may use any tune that meets the PI requirement. The tunes mentioned are there for your pleasure. I can't tune and these guys are nice to do it for me. The cars will be in the D2NR garage or I can send the tunes to you. Just send me a message on 360. And don't sell them or face the wrath of a tuner scorned.
Yes, the AI is less random on the Professional setting as at the lower difficulties the AI is simply deisgned to make more mistakes in order to be slower. But, I restarted 3 times due to a Pagani consistenly attempting inside moves, that failed, thus wrecking the side of my car for 3-4 laps and then speeding off, as if not damaged, while my now raggedy ass Viper is pulling to the side or some other nonsense.
And it is really perturbing to watch the AI not touch each other when you're off the back following and then go bumper cars as you try to work your way up to the front...

I do enjoy the challenge though!
This.. I've attempted this 5 times now.. each time I get past them in lap 1-2 fine.. but lap 6 or 7 one of them rubberbands up to me and uses me as a crash test site and destroys my car. Keep getting too frustrated to finish.. I will have my result in to you before the deadline tho.
Sorry that I have not been active very much lately , We have been in the process of moving. It is amazing how much crap that two people can acquire! Crazy. Stressful and backbreaking. I cant wait until its done.

Two people and a Dog. Sounds like it would make a good TV series.
On the AI subject. Maybe I'm just used to the little quirks the game throws at me because I have been doing Full Sim for so long. FM3 and now FM4. I've just gotten used to giving them a very wide berth. I always think to myself "is this worth the risk?". Most of the time it isn't. So I wait. When I do guess wrong that is when the fun/frustration/challenge comes in. But I also pretend that I'm a RL driver and that my sponsor disapproves of spending gobs of money on repairs unless I win on a consistent basis. MLS in the Viper with no delay at the start is a challenge. Something most of the guys might not try. So I consider myself a glutton for pleasure or punishment. Take your choice. Next month/this month actually will be a lot of alone time on Sarthe mixed with the occasional passing of slower cars. Just like the real thing.
3 brave souls ventured with me in the Viper against the AI in the formal race this month.
I have a new name for the human opponents that I race against me in the clan lobbies. I will call you guys/gals Tommies. After viewing the replay of the race at Road America last night (which I won ) I don't see much difference between the AI(when it's not Full Sim. The timmies in the public rooms) and some of the clan at the beginning of the races. Talk about the rush for the front at the start of the race. You guys are crazy. Two of you tried to squeeze through a hole next to me the size of a shoebox. The only thing I will continue to do is to hold back a little and wait until the guys screwup in front of me and laugh to myself as I drive by. Replay on my SF under RAwin.
Bonus LeMans race parameters up soon in 2nd post. Race Results up in post #1 from now on.
Lmao !!! Pretty sure I'm one of the "Tommies". I really don't remember how many close calls I had. Do remember that when I got past the AI...I checked for damage and it was minimal and didn't affect my lap times. So then I just tried to stay consistant. Which I didn't totally succeed at. All said I'm having fun with these challenges. Patiently waiting for the next one.

You weren't one of them. At least at RA. Most of the time the clan is very well controlled but competitive. I've found at the start though, usually all bets are off. I am thinking of when I get online in the future I will try to run a room myself and that way I will be able to put in the damage factor. If it was RL, I would be making sooooo much money. The speedsters wouldn't be so speedy with the damage to their cars. I did it last Sat and the results were good. A bunch of 5 lappers and we worked our way up through the classes to the R3's. Not too many complaints about the AI. One mistake I made was putting the AI in the race when we were practicing our NASCAR skills at Sunset. I'd love to get together and improve our drafting without the risk of damage or AI. 16 guys in a snake formation for 30 laps with the leader sliding back into 16th place every 2 laps or so. Sweet.
Bless me Father for I have sinned. I did something I said I wouldn't. Last night had the chance to run the S class race with insanerc. He in the 330P. Me in the MKII. I guess I am used to running my best when I'm alone. So my race wasn't up to my usual standards. Insanerc has a knack of distracting you by having a good time. And by driving better than me.
So this morning I ran the race again in the 330P4 by myself and the AI and did substantially better. Then I ran it again in the MKII. Took about 18% damage to the side and back panels on lap 3 but only was 1 sec slower than my clean run in the Ferrari. I'm itching to run it again in the MKII but will resist the urge and stay with my first Ferrari run.
Will do the Bentley at some time but I've got to get the time to run the L2M eduro that I promised to NakedRescue, TrackAssassin and Sherb. My first try will be at Nurburgring GP. A 44 lapper.
Alternate builds/tunes are available for free on my SF.
They are for the Ferarri and Bentley and are Hi HP as opposed to grip builds. Be warned, they are not easy drives and I do not claim to be a proper tuner, but they work for me. I much prefer brute force for this track. Le Mans needs a good beating with a large stick, not gentle persuasion ;) Make sure steering is not SIM.
Oh - and have fun dealing with the moronic AI in the main braking zones at the end of the straights.
I changed the car for this months Time Trial.

Let me translate...
" I find the roof a viable use for passing as it doesn't affect the suspension damage-wise..."
I think you're gonna be famous Church...
And I respectfully agree, to disagree, lol.

Hmmmm.....hope I didn't F something up....I checked race parameters and I don't think so.
I got past the AI by lap 5.....pitted lap 16....came out stilll in the lead. Had a few brain farts during the last 5 laps.
I'm just a very safe driver. You guys are probably fine.
4 total entries so far. The speedsters are scaredy cats again. Typical bump and run mentality.

Mazda Laguna Seca in the Viper race deadline is past. TT & Race results up later this week. LeMans Short & Sweet race info up by 6/21/2012.
Couldn't get it done in time. :-( bah!
Working on the results. You'll have plenty of time to do this month's LeMans tribute. 2 short 4 lappers. Even the speedsters could do these.
