I haven't looked at it yet, but did you place half slabs on top of the hoppers? If you didn't, that might be the problem.

Yeah I did. Does the proximity of the hoppers to the control/dispenser affect the flint/dispenser?

Unique, there's some quartz in the chest out front of my barn.

Ghasts are wimps, I've killed a lot of them, nearing 50...you just need a good bow, some fire or blast armor wouldn't hurt.

Fignuts,

Sorry.  There were two uncontrolled detonations in the xp farm last night.  I got it mosty rebuilt except for the push forward button.  (Couldn't figure out how that was wired.)  I left parts for fixing and compensation for the damages.

Apparently I need to get xp the old fashioned way...   :(

I thought I made it so the creepers couldn't see you. Did you remove any blocks, or is there a design issue? I haven't had any issues with it yet.

Still haven't really checked out other peoples house , settlements. I need to do that... what's the best way for me to get villagers to my location? Thinkin of settin up a small trade station

Capture two villager zombies and convert them. You'll need to build them a house too.

use a weakn splash potion on them, separately, if possible, and as soon as you do that feed them each a golden apple, they will freeze in their tracks, and look like they smell (healing type graphic) and they will turn into villagers. BUT they have to be the zombies with villager heads or it won't work.

I put up a corral on the inside of my compund, made a hole in the wall and went out as "bait", and eventually brought back two zombies, one at a time, and cured them inside the corral, sealed the wall behind them as they came in.

You'll want a gate and enough room to dance around them and seal the corral. You can toss the potion over the fence AND feed the apple over the fence safely.

As far as I know, you can't lead a villager anywhere. Although if you're building something they will get right in your way, worse than a chicken.

You know, I considered a track through the nether, but the ghasts kinda make it cost prohibitive, unless you run it through a tunnel maybe. What I'd like is to be able to ride a track through a portal, don't think that will work though.

If you're sitting in a minecart do you transport through portals?  Never thought about it before.

User error.

If you stand where the "Push Forward" button is, the creepers can see you.  Their fuse is very short (half second) when they fall and take damage.  I moved up by button to gather loot, creeper dropped and blew up all within one second.  (I should have just dropped loot down into lower chamber.  My bad.)  Second explosion was when I was rebuilding.

Unique, I have two potions AND two golden apples sitting in my inventory IF you get the urge to play zombie bait.

I recommend you set yourself up first so you can separate them and deal one at a time with them. You need to be able to bring one in, corral it, and then splash/feed it. And then release it into your "village" as it were. It could take a few nights to get the right zombies, they aren't always so obliging.

A good bow, lots of arrows to deal with all the stuff that wants to eat you while you're out baiting.

Oh, and don't leave the gate open when you bring one in like I did, lol.

Fig, I moved just the one hopper a block up in front of the dispenser and it worked fine, so I guess the half block doesn't suffice.

Maybe we should setup a villager trading station @ spawn. Is spawn hublinked? Build a structure, zombie proof it and get one of each type of villager in seperate pens. Trading Station

Unfortunetly each villager stops trading after 5 or 6 trades.  Next update is supposed to revamp the trading system.

hmm...maybe my villager is broken.  Traded him coal for 8 emaralds then he stopped trading and has no new trade opportunity.

To get more trades, you have to complete the last trade available.. sometimes a few times. Different villagers can have more trades available than others... Check into docm77's village trading video. Awesome vid

Some villagers will update after a single trade, without closing out the previous trades, some don't. No reason or rhyme I can see. This a visible graphic similar to healing, and very obvious after a trade.

Also if a villager is updating his trades and the chunk gets despawned he may glitch and loose all trades... but if you keep trade station at spawn shouldn't happn

Made me a unbreaking 2 power 3 fire 1 bow!!! Very fun. Flaming arrows are cool.

Mixed and matched a couple skellie bows and had a fire 1 book.

Side note, made my second anvil.
