The Builds (let me know if I left something out):
Interested, but depends on day and time!
I'll give it a shot, the Lancia looks good. Put on your heavy duty bumpers, boys.
Will be good to see you on the track again Zagi Bob.
UPDATE: had to make some modifications to the Esprit build. Updated the build sheet and the car in the garage. There will be shake down races on Sunday night. This will give me a final look at the cars and how they compare in performance PLUS helpme narrow down the track selection. Come out and race Sunday night at 8pm. I'll be running however long guys want to.
What tracks will we be running?
Do we need racing numbers? If not I'll just use the club garage cars.
I drove all the series cars in the NA garage yesterday. I liked the Lancia and M1 the most.
This otta be fun! I usually race C class so A may be a bit much, but I need the practice.
I'm in for this one!!
We runnin' today?
Hey Snappy, do you have a livery for the Lotus?
I'm in!
It was fun getting my butt kicked while NOT getting bashed and dashed as in public lobbies. Clean racing, I love it. Thanks Snappy!
Thanks for racing tonight. Those were intense races. Check the OP for updates and event info soon. Oh, and check out the Bernese Alps replay on my SF. Put the camera on my car and watch as 4 cars make the jump towards the end of the 1st lap. Sick!
Sorry i didnt make this Snappy, i was looking forward to this
Snappy,
Here are some lap counts in case you want all the races to run about the same amount of time. I think the 80 mile races will be about 45-50 minutes and the 100 miles races about an hour.
I have a spreadsheet with track data. It's no big deal to recalculate. We can also come up with lap counts based on lap times if you want to target a specific total race time.
Thanks Thane. I think the 80 mile distance would be best. 100 miles gets to be a drag for most guys.
I will edit the post later. Le Mans I will keep at 12 laps. Love the place.
Sounds good. I'm with you on Le Mans.
did you forget the springs and dampners on the Lancia and BMW?
Yes, I did. Sorry guys. Race suspension on all the cars. Thanks Jimmy.
I would like for participants to use retro style paints. Anyone needing a paint or looking for a specific replica let me know. Also, there will be no number board required but I do have a specific number font I have created that I can start gifting out for falls to use. This actually opens things up and let's those of you who paint to place the numbers in a way that won't affect your paint too badly. Let me know guys, I already have at least 3-4 paints for each car. :-)
Could you gift it over please Snappy
Sure thing Max. I'm still unhappy with one of the numbers so as soon as I get it looking right I will send you the whole set.
Reminder: after tonight's shakedown races I will need to know what cars people will be driving. Choose wisely, as you will not be able to switch cars once the season starts. Also, the series will use the same points and handicap/BOP procedure as Grim's Lotus Cup series. See you tonight guys.
Great shakedown races. Thanks for coming out and racing, guys. I know these cars are a handful. Feel free to let me know if any of you need something. Tune, paint, numbers, etc.
Race 1 tonight! 25 laps at Sebring. There is no official number board for this series. I ask that drivers run with just their number and no number board. I have a font I created that has a block style to it. If you look at the cars in the garage most of them have that. If you need it let me know.
Yes please.
Congrats to the winner of tonight's race - DRCxxDRIVEBYxx71
That was the gnarliest race I have Been in yet! The front runners, driveby - Jimenez - Prebuilt, were on the ragged edge for over 50 minutes. Jimeez and driveby battle the whole time to the point where the margin of victory was less than .3 seconds. Sick! Prebuilt had a great run but suffered mechanical problems and dropped out of the race. Sorry Prebuilt, you were running strong. Adikt stepped up and grabbed a podium spot while Snappy and Thane62 battled for a hard fought 4th and 5th spots respectively. Tonyssr came in with his Porsche but due to some poor race car preparation had some minor issues. Still a strong showing for Tony in an unfamiliar car. ;-) Kip and Motörhead rounded out the field but there is no shame there. Both guys fought hard in some ornery cars on an old school, rough and tumble track.
Heres the official finishing order:
1st. Driveby
2nd imjimeez
3rd adikt4lfe
4th Gentleman Racer
5th Thane62
6th TonySSR
7th Kip
8th HundredthShrimp
9th. motorhead61
Thanks for coming out guys. Hope some more drivers join us next week. We need a Lotus and Lancia in here! Next week - Hockenheim Full.

Oh thanks for calling me out on that one Snappy. I just forgot and I apologies to anyone if I got in the way( except for jimmy) but I am working on the car now so be ready to be amazed( for 4 laps till I mess up). But I will give it my best. Was great racing last night even though I wasn't even in my car.
