Sounds good. Now you just need a paint for the 037. I have asked guys to try and ran some old school paints. I've got several so I'll shoot one over to you. We will be on to the third race. Are your friends thinking about joining 2O4F? Are they all super quick as well? Lol
Good racing guys and thanks for coming out and joining in. Thane has updated the standings. Clay self imposed a 10% handicap and still pulled away to grab the win. I will post the replay on my storefront later today. Quite the thing to watch, nice work Clay. I worked my way up to second and then had to battle to stay consistent. I had JuanDerecho and Imjimeez on my butt for several laps. Amazing how Jimeez and his DeLorean were still super fast even with 10% power loss. He'll of a driver Jimmy. Nicely done. Juan Derecho, in his Coca Cola liveried Porsche was engaged with Jimmy for most of the race. He really had that 911 running well.
Thane, Adikt, tonyssr and Ciletti were tied together for several laps and the back and forth got quite intense for nearly a lap and a half. Hundredth Shrimp's Ferrari was in the mix early on as well, however, mechanical issues plagued the prancing horse and eventually caused his retirement. Sorry, shrimp, racing with ya is always cool. Next time. Skiwi hustled in his Porsche and the Jagermeister racing team is making steady improvement. Here is the finish order:
Clay in LA
GentlemanRacer
Imjimeez
Adikt
JuanDerecho
Thane62
tonyssr427
CilettiDad
Skiwi
DufferMac

After the race, a question about passing was asked of me. My answer at that time was that when two cars are approaching a corner it is the responsibility of the trailing car to avoid contact but if the trailing car manages to get side by side prior to entering the corner then all bets are off and that it is perfectly acceptable for them (the car that WAS trailing) to go ahead and try to execute that pass. In these scenarios (side by side into a corner) it is incumbent on both drivers to be aware that both their lines have now changed and that the trade off is most likely navigating said turn a bit slower and tighter as it is likely that the other driver is still trying to gain/hold a position. Tough to do in a video game as peripheral vision is impaired. This skill takes practice and patience. Sometimes it goes relatively smoothly but most times there is some contact. To me, a little side by side contact is acceptable as long as it does not get out of control and turns into two cars repeatedly tapping each other in some retaliatory type exchange. Also, a side by side battle can quickly get complicated when a third car closes in hoping to capitalize on any type of misstep.by the other two competitors. I watched the replay and what I can say is that what I saw was some competitors battling relatively cleanly. Like I said, when racers go side by side things can get a little crazy. Two racers went into turn one. The outside car was slightly ahead (ironically, in the exact position to have the other car in their blind spot) but the inside car had the inside line. Neither driver backed off and there was some contact (none of it intentional). Nothing catastrophic, though. This battle then continued with no other intentional contact. All the while there was a third car entering into the mix. Quite the recipe, eh? I thought that from then on things went relatively well. A decent battle that is ultimately a good learning opportunity. The replay is on my SF now titled "80s Learning Opportunity". More analysis later..
thanks again guys for coming out. We have tight and twisty Infineon Full next week. Hope to see you there.
I'm using best individual results as tie breakers, e.g. Shrimp has two 10 point finishes and adikt has one. Jump in, Snappy, if you disagree with anything that I'm doing here.
Thanks Thane. Congrats Jim, well earned championship. You really wheeled that DeLorean around like nobody's business. who would of thought, eh? a DeLorean!! LOL
Thanks to everyone for participating. I hope the cars weren't to gnarly and that you guys enjoyed them. When I started building them I didn't think the series would go at all but thanks to you guys I had a blast. Thanks again and see you on track soon.
Snappy kept hiring fast guys every race. They come in with no handicap and me with a 10% all series long. I think he was trying to stack the deck against me.

Race tonight at 8:00 pm. Road America. This will be fun!

The total column now shows points after dropping worst finish.
Thane, once again, thank you.

Thanks again for putting on the series. It's fun.
Sorry I couldn't be there last race. My back's been more sore than I'd hoped, so I've been laying low... too low... back soon, I hope.
Enjoy all
Thanks for hosting the series. I will be out of town, and will have to miss the last race.
Final Race tonight! 12 laps at Le Mans. Should be fun!
Pit stops between laps 4 and 8. C'mon out and join in people.
Bummed on missing these.

Fixed a mistake in the final standings with Juan's total points.
