was playing some Halo 2 PC last night and noticed that the H2 shotgun blows ass unless you're pressing up against a guy. Otherwise it takes 3-4 shots sometimes if you're any distance away.

I wish I'd managed to record my game of slayer earlier today. Me and another guy are both running for the shotgun and he gets there first. I manage to switch to and start charging my boltshot by the time he gets 1 shot off that only pops my shield with his power weapon, then my secondary weapon kills him in one shot. He quit on the spot, and I can't say I blame him. That sorta shit should never happen.

Yet, you're not against getting the randomness out of the game and having the weapon sandbox make more sense.

Rage quitting is not proof of how the sandbox has a potential flaw. We've seen samples of the power of the Boltshot. Given that information and the fact that everyone can have one should be enough to forewarn people. Why do two people run for a weak power weapon when they already have or could have a more powerful one? It doesn't make sense to me so all I've learned here is that someone rage quit.
Because people know the boltshot breaks the sandbox so refuse to use it, which means a shotgun > whatever secondary we have equipped. I've quit out of games where the entire other team was camping their flag with either camo or PV and boltshot. It wasn't a rage quit, it was a 'this game won't be fun' quit.
