I'm actually fairly excited for this. But it's also 343, so it's very possible for them to screw it up too. Looking forward to HCE and H3 multiplayer. Not a huge fan of H2 multiplayer, but it's better than H4 and armor abilities.
Game Stop has a preorder bonus, the Bandana Skull, which gives infinite ammo and grenades. Amazon has the Piñata Skull, which makes enemies drop a plasma made with every melee. I'll take Bandana. That should make campaigns MUCH easier.

"No, armor abilities are gone in Halo 5. Confirmed by Frankie. Spartan abilities are just things like e.g. dual-wielding or boarding in Halo 2 (so: new movement-based game features for Halo 5 multiplayer)."

I hope they don't remove standard features so they can re-add them as "spartan abilities." Like how in Halo 4 they took out the ability to pick up grenades just so they could have another tactical package to choose from.
Armor abilities...gone? Does this mean...they actually learned?
Well, an ability by any other name could still be an armour ability.
It's silly semantics.
The H5 game play showed a Spartan ground pound from Thrusting down. What that means is that the H4 Evade ability is now continuously available and I'm guessing is a Jump/Jetpack. It remarkably resembled Armour Lock.
It must have been considered a universal feature the way Sprint was/is.

I think there are probably responsible ways to do Armor Abilities, but I don't really know of them.
Make AA's pick-ups like invis and overshield for Halo 5. Most of the AA's are pretty boring if you make them pick ups you can make them more powerful, plus it creates better map flow.
Frankie also said that H2 will be the same as when it was about done. Which I take as being post updates.
I think this is great for the community. Most will play between H2 and H3, but with everything being on one interface I can see custom nights where we play on all four games with ease.

Very excited.
If Site Wide is still running and I expect it will be, I will honour requests and make selections based on what I hear. Hopefully we'll have more party leaders because that would help if one group just wants certain games to the exclusion of others.
I'm pretty sure my Thursday nights will be XB1 only.
Tuesday night weekly Over age 50 and monthly Over age 40 tournament will remain 360 until many factors settle out.
i wish they'd remove sprint, but they won't. That was the single biggest mistake I think in the entire series.
I disagree. Sprint is very useful in certain situations and it enabled me to move quickly from Point A to Point B or to get an ordance drop or vehicle before someone else does.
Secondly, Spartans run faster than normal humans, it makes no sense for a biologically enhanced or augmented human being to have the same speed and strength abilities as normal human beings. Covenant enemies like Elites are stronger, bigger, and faster than puny UNSC soldiers, so you got to match near size, speed, and strength abilities against them with Spartans. I seem to recall few years back, think Reach was just out around then, many gamers praised Bungie (not 343) for including sprint as an armor ability.

You don't understand. Sprint screwed up the maps and made them have to keep getting bigger and bigger. And none of the old maps worked anymore with sprint attached. Bungie did indeed add it and it was a mistake.

Canon has no place in multiplayer. I don't care if they're supposed to run faster than regular Marines. I don't see regular Marines in multiplayer either.

You're missing my point: it makes no sense for a biologically enhanced or augmented human being to have the same speed and strength abilities as normal human beings. Doesn't matter if it is Canon or not.
What's the point in having Marines in multiplayer? We are playing as Spartans.
I'm looking forward to playing some H:CE and 2 MP. I fell H3 was the start of the downfall of MP for Halo and 4 just killed it. H:CE, 2, and Reach were my favorite ones.
While sprint allowed one to move from point A to point B quicker, it also allowed one to escape just as fast. In quick kill games like COD and BF, that's fine because it only takes a few shots to kill your opponent with an AR. In Halo, it typically takes 4-5 non-AR shots with the last shot needing to be a headshot to kill an opponent. With kill times being longer than most games, increasing the escape ability (quickness) makes for longer games, larger maps, and less interaction.

No, not really a reddit fan. Last time I.was on the halo subreddit, the majority were pro halo 4 so I nop'd out of there.
Someone's posting there with a pretty similar user name to yours. Halo 4 wasn't bad. It just tried to be everything to everyone and ended up losing everyone.

According to Bravo, you can matchmake in the game(s) of your choice http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=115582830&postcount=1614
Edit: A good look at the MC Collection UI here: http://www.ign.com/videos/2014/06/09/new-halo-master-chief-collection-info-and-gameplay-e3-2014
Frankie said that Halo 4 XB1 looks noticably better on XB1. Something about more data in the graphics than what could be shown on 360.
Hopefully it all works well. If our Halo community gets split between 360 and XB1, it's going to be a long hard year for Halo.
Bingo on that last point.
I accidentally flagged a post as offensive.
I'm all in for this. I'm already planning on a co-op LASO marathon with Old N Achy. I will be preordering this Wednesday after work.

What about Best Buy preorder?
Pretty...

Don't get ahead of yourself now, this is 343 we're talking about.

Yes. Reach hurt us all. Show me on the doll where Reach touched you.

His username upsets me slightly. No worries, I'll be ushering in a new gamertag when I purchase the xboner.
