EUSL v4

So I need to start thinking about building cars, specs and idea's for the EUSL v4.  I'd like to get your input for ideas for the next series.

My idea's are

using the BTCC regs, create FWD racing event.  Featuring Tskuba, motegi west, susuka east etc

The cars are prebuilt and selected, 5/6 available.  Tuneable.

Brief Specifications:
• Front-wheel-drive
• 2-litre turbocharged production-based 4-cylinder petrol engine, producing approx. 300bhp with a 7,000 rev limit, 0.8 bar of boost and inlet-restrictor.
• 6-speed sequential semi-automatic gearbox
• Increased minimum length of 4.4m
• Standardised width of 1875mm
• 2, 3, 4 or 5 door – providing they share the same basic silhouette and dimensions as the 4/5 door saloon version
• Fully adjustable subframe-mounted front & rear suspension
• Larger wheels/tyres
• Common major components to be utilised; such as ECU, gearbox, brakes, hubs, steering rack, fuel tank and etc.
• Integrated front aerodynamics to incorporate radiators, cooling ducts and partial flat-floor to a given design parameter/dimension. Specified rear wing profile and size. Each car to be wind-tunnel tested to achieve similar aero equality
• Increased driver safety
• Stronger and more robust major components with full at-event parts supply service and support
• Lower C02 emissions output than current

RWD GT Car  ( Jaguar XKR, Aston, Merc)  - Spec, tuneable but only 1 type.

Free build car - Single spec car, some thing fun with a race pedigree that we can keep rolling through the EUSL seasons.

Find the car with the best sound ever, give it even more noise and race it on tracks with tunnels, grandstands etc lol

Big turbo AWD cars for some real corner dancing

Obviously native drive train only for all

Sounds good, but I am just a driver and not a tuner. I will have problems with that.

Fun, fun, fun, but ....... I am not really able to hold this Mustang on the line, how bad will it be with a GT car? at the moment these cars (A-, S-, Rx-classes) are too much for me.

Hmmm, fun car? Let me think. If I had the new car pack I would pick the beetle!

You know Parcells will support whatever decision you make so with our driver safety in mind (as it should be) let's not go with cars resembling something someone may wish to refer as 'muscle' like!

1. Free build - interesting (draws up chair) tell me more. 2. Roadster showdown (Europe/jap/US) - z4 vs s2000 vs ? - delicious! 3. Porkerfest - yes it's DLC but could be an option against some standard disc cars. Maybe something historic. FWD - anything you cook up will be fun Tourni, but I do find them a little tedious ;)

1, Basically i pic a car and you can build what ever you like, OR we could pic 3 cars and you can build what ever you like.

2, LOVE IT!  now that would be awesome fun.  z4, boxter, s2000, MX5, Great idea.

3, Got me thinking actually, the yellow bird has some real pedigree and very interesitng possibilities.

Of course for any free build cars, or tuning assistance there are plenty of really talented guys around who would be more than happy to help out so don't let that turn you off.

At the moment i'm thinking the series will be

Clio Trophy racing - built to spec, tunable.

Roadsters - free build perhaps?

Some GT car

What about a pre 66 series?

That gives plenty of choice and room for tyre smoking shinanagins.

Or maybe a classic roadster series with the MGA, 507 and Healey?

Or a historic rally car series? We have the Stratos, 131, RS1800, Integrali, RS200. 3 laps of the full Fuji course would be...interesting...

Or M5's on the Ring? Taxi!!!!!

Or better still Yellow Birds at the Ring!

HAve to admit a soft spot for the Beetle but that is just harking back to my Cal Look days....

Who knows what T10 have in mind for future releases.

What ever it is no FWD!

P.

The old beetle is really limited on it's classes.  Basically F or A with an engine swap.

Could also have a multiclass race Pro's in R'classes and others in D  then switch it up for the next round.

First EUSL Tourni idea Parcells does not support. Multi-class races are essentially two different races of 8 competitors vs. one race of 16. This cuts in half the number of competitors I could potentially have a close race with but of course the argument to this is I'll only be competing against my Div 2 competitiors anyway (which should all be running the same class, one would assume).

However, in any given race, the fast guys in Div 2 can certainly compete with the slower Div 1 folks and the same goes for the slower Div 2 people competing with the faster Div 3 people. Furthermore, the fast cars can't simply pass at will the slower cars whenever they want...you still have to set up a clean pass and depending on the curcumstances one of two equally fast cars could get by a slower car with ease while the other could get hung up one or two more turns esentially ending the close battle between the two equally fast cars.

Simply never been a fan of Multi-class races. Serenity now.

Some would argue that this is the attractive part of multiclass racing. It gives a random chance element to the race when the aliens are about. At any given time, anyoneone could be held up.

I have little doubt that is exactly the case OldSchool but it would not be Parcells making this argument. Random chance elements can occur in any race and in my example of two people in a close battle being ruined by a random chance element could occur in a single class race too but it is more likely to happen in a multi-class race.

Since close racing is by far the most enjoyment I have with on-line racing it makes sense (for me) to not actively support multi-class racing. Similar reasoning to why Parcells is not a huge proponent of endurance races where it’s more about consistent driving vs. close battles.

But Parcells does love a good debate so if needed I’ll argue against my beliefs although, within 2O4F, my guess is the majority really enjoy multi-class races so maybe I’ll need more people on my side of the fence.

To extrapolate on this it does not make me smarter than you OldSchool but I’m pretty sure it means I’m better looking…using common sense of course. cheeky

Giddy up!
