So your arguing for your beliefs but your willing to argue against them. Finally Parcells has lost it completely.

Just like George Costanza, Fitzy enjoys understanding.

No doubt your parallel parking skills are not to be reckoned with either.

Your Honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury I rest my case.

Siding with Parcells on this one, if only for the thought of being constantly lapped by people who are already faster in faster cars is kinda depressing. But that is a personal view and adds nothing to the debate...So...How about ...The EUSL is lauded as a series where the slower drivers can learn from the faster...not if they are in different cars from different classes. Just off the top of my head. But I will drive whatever 'cause it's Tourni's gig and I'm just chewing the fat here.

Some would argue that this is the attractive part of multiclass racing. It gives a random chance element to the race when the aliens are about. At any given time, anyoneone could be held up.

I have little doubt that is exactly the case OldSchool but it would not be Parcells making this argument. Random chance elements can occur in any race and in my example of two people in a close battle being ruined by a random chance element could occur in a single class race too but it is more likely to happen in a multi-class race.

Since close racing is by far the most enjoyment I have with on-line racing it makes sense (for me) to not actively support multi-class racing. Similar reasoning to why Parcells is not a huge proponent of endurance races where it’s more about consistent driving vs. close battles.

But Parcells does love a good debate so if needed I’ll argue against my beliefs although, within 2O4F, my guess is the majority really enjoy multi-class races so maybe I’ll need more people on my side of the fence.

To extrapolate on this it does not make me smarter than you OldSchool but I’m pretty sure it means I’m better looking…using common sense of course. cheeky

Giddy up!

Well, from a layman's point of view, I've seen better looking and you ain't it, logically speaking, of course.

I do like multiclass racing, however, I don't follow the endurance angle. I don't want to endure a race, I just wanna have fun (like the rest of you girls!).

Well my take on the multi class is that it teaches and improves a vital skill in trafic management.  The aliens learn to be more patient and the div1 (thinking going with 2 divisions next season) learn to judge better in traffic.   Yes, you would loose that element of racing the aliens and seeing how they take the lines in the same car.  But you'd be gaining a skill that i think is much harder to learn.   The idea is that the aliens would first drive R3 Evora's and the div1s drive the exige, then the next round we swap. So you get to see what its like when you close on aliens and how we traffic manage.

I do however, think that fun trumps those and I've had my fair share of good racing with anyone in their respective division.  If it be 1 corner or 4 laps, i'm always having fun working out how to make my pass, if you go defensive on me, then its GAME ON! :D

At this point, its all tossing around ideas - I want to create some thing quite unique for EUSL4.   Roadsters is a GO , so still looking for 2 more ideas that can beat beatles and Clios.  Maybe going back to the first btcc we did, limit power and weight to 200bhp or som ething :)

Endurance is a different matter all together, i didn't think i would enjoy it untill i ran one. Keeping pace for over an hour and avoiding all chance of contact really does improve your driving alot.  You can still have good races, Gizzie and I have raced nose to tail for little over 15 laps on lemans :)

Yes I enjoyed the endurence, it gave reason to being on your own most the time, constantly eyeing distances to cars ahead and behind and taking care of the car. Forgot the swapping element...I supose that does add a twist, though for learning about being in traffic Track Night takes some beating. BTCC always works for me, and I liked both the Clio Cup and The VW's But I'll just store those up for my tuesday series smiley

I would LOVE to see a recreation of the BTCC season 2 you did in the EUSL season 1.

That to me was the most fun season I have ever had here on 2O4F. Period

Just having you post a weight, power and body type limit was awesome.

No one knew for sure what everyone else was driving untill race one and I loved how I developed my car over the season as everyone else did.

So Tourni do this again.... or else angry

Saloons or hatchbacks really - no coupes.

You are not allowed to run the same car as last series

This is to help level playing fields and bring excitment into the game.

Contact rules!

Rubbing is allowed - This means if your rubbing along side coming into a corner its fine. Try not to catch their back end though!

Defending is allowed - To the inside of the corner and back out, no more! if you do you might get more than a nudge for playing silly buggers Smile

nudging is allowed - Corner entry, mid or exit - a slight blip on the throttle to nudge someone wide is allowed.

leaning on some one round corners is allowed - riding upon that curb and gently leaning on the car on the outside is fine.

Brake Checking isn't allowed - it will kill some ones race! You will be blackflagged

Pit manouvers isn't allowed - accidents happen but deliberate ones are not allowed. You will be blackflagged.

Cautions will not be called, simulation damage is on.

NEW NOVICES ONLY - You will be required to wear a Yellow square with a black cross on the rear bumper of your car. It must be visable from distance so the PRO's do not bump you too hard. Visit my sotrefont for it.

however, If you wish to play with the pro's and you are confident in your ability to control the car - do not put the cross on. Bewarned the guys will be coming in hard and fast.

Simulation damage will be on, as a rule of thumb, if you cause damage to more than body work, you've hit them too hard

Practice sessions will be held during the weeks running up to it

Car Restrictions I will not be holding car restrictions, but you can only use the same car through out the series

So now what i want to know, what did you like, diskile about the last series that ran? How can we improve it for Novices, amatures and Pro's?

Additional info.

I'm gonna change Catalunya to Catalunya International. - This should bring down the time for the races quite a bit Smile

I also think its more suited to the cars Smile

Fond memories of Zeratul and I going back and forth with the Skylines.

Hell, I think that was the group of cars that was running when I joined the EUSL series.  I didn't even know what EUSL was.....just saw the classifications for CVTCC and thought, "Hell yeah, those are my kind of cars!"

Budget 4 door racing, pick a car under x amount, where only say 5 upgrades are allowed in total.  Example would be tyres compount - Street -> sport -> race would be 3 upgrades.

May make some interesting results?!

Or you could say you have a total budget of 25,000 and you can have as many upgrades as you like as long as the total cost is below the set ammount?

The only catch there is most upgrades are comped (no cost) once you hit level 5 or so for manufacturer rep.

indeed - so we'd have to set a number.  thinking this wont work really - because you'd just pick the highest class car and use that.

I like the year range, body type, min weight & max hp limitations for building a class of "build your own" cars.  It allows people the flexibility to run a variety of cars, while still keeping performance caps reasonable.  You can always add in a max PI if needed as well.

Well, the biggest thing for me is that cars are pre-tuned, everyone has the equal tune... My first failing point is ability to tune the car so it´s actually faster and /or handles better! Although I do believe that I get some help from you guys yes

Oh and Porsche Cup, I know it requires the DLC, but please at least consider this!

Okay - So it sounds like this would be a good idea.

Pretuned cars  - Clio or Megane or Fiesta or Civic cup racing.

Free Tune - BTCC with limits.

Spec - Roadsters.
