Is it BAD that I keep finding myself agreeing with Dixon???
Nope. You'll all come around eventually. Some of you just take more time. Even Deep has been agreeing a lot recently, although he does it between his "rah rah"s and "sis boom bah"s.
Again, keep in mind, all this is tempered with the game. We know relatively little about it and haven't put any length of time into it. I liked Reach when I first got my hands on it, and it wasn't for a short while where things went downhill.

Kill Times too short for my liking in Halo 4.
I'll have to always use the Death Cam, Enhanced Ability, Active Camo, Sniper Personal Ordnance with Scoping anti-shake. Oh yeah, extra nades mod.

Your perk might as well be "Pay Snipedown to play for me".

I wish there where a couple classic small type maps. I do like the new maps, but my favorite maps have alway been simple symentical maps.
THIS!
Not that I don't want people to have their favorite old maps but those won't hold onto people. It's only through new stuff that we can hope to see new Halo games.
Old maps do not work with new sandboxes and old maps with old sandboxes won't bring in new players.
I love my memories of the old maps and games but those memories are usually trampled on everytime a map gets redone.
Yes, a game can change too much but that is just the way of things. Sometimes it fits and we carry on and sometimes we just have to move on to something else.

i've had nothing but the greatest memories of H3. i hadn't revisted it since the day REACH came out until earlier this week...WORST.EXPERIENCE.EVAR.
I disagree, I loved midship in H3. I love sanctuary. They could remake several maps, and it adds to the playability with armor abilities.
What is ruining the maps, is that they are getting larger and larger, and the vehicles are getting nigh impossible to destroy (A wraith takes 6 sniper shots? Unless you hit the back fuel core) Warthogs seem to live forever, unless I am in one. And don't even get me started on the banshee...
What's ruining the game is that a team of 2 used to be able to teamshoot a vehicle to kill it, and now a whole team DMR'ing a banshee doesn't even equal 1/3 damage.
Vehicles are not balanced, and the maps are getting larger and larger with no symettry.

This. And I'm not trying to be a dick Deep, but Jim said classic small TYPE maps. Not necessarily "remake all old maps" but "can we have a few small maps please?" I like a few of the reach maps....all smallish. I'm not against new maps, I'm against ten huge maps full of vehicles that can't be destroyed for half a game.

I generally stray from big team battle and invasion maps in Reach for this very reason. I'll take a 4 v 4 game of team slayer over a Vahalla size map anyday.

I jumped the gun a bit because Classic was used in the description. In Halo terms, that frequently refers to previous "Classic Maps". I.E. Midship, Lockout etc
Many people actually do mean exact remakes of the old maps when they say "Classic". I prejudiced my comments without seeking clarity.
well to play devils advocate.. Now imagine playing Midship, Warlock or any other small map with sprint. They will not play the same. Movement speed played into how well those small maps played and sprint is not going away anytime soon.
Yeah you can forge it out but then movement speed is just kicked up by MLG to a "somewhere inbetween deal".
It is not going to happen people.
Personally I think the new 4x4 is going to be 5x5 due to movement speed and map size and the new "small map feel" is going to be on what we consider medium sized maps now.

Come on now, False Prophet Jr. You know that's crazy talk.

The buzz I've been picking up is some maps and playlists are likely to be 5 x 5. Maybe I am just buzzed.
The crazy talk was that Sprint overpowers the old medium sized maps of yesteryear. Maps getting a little bigger to facilitate everyone having Sprint is fine, but, again, seems unnecessary. We get a revamped controller scheme and bigger maps where we could have kept the old templates and just increased the base movement speed.

See? As this goes on, you'll all end up agreeing with me more and more.

Except, in the end it won't matter. All future Halos will be what the developer/marketing think the majority of potential customers want and not what existing customers want. If the two jive, it doesn't really matter. It's just a happy coincidence.

It certainly will matter if Halo 5 undersells Reach. You've certainly been advocating for making the game more casual for the past two titles.

True, even developers and marketers make big mistakes.
I am more in your camp of thinking than you realize. I just see that making concessions to earn and keep a population is more important than making a game more in line with ultra competition. Ultra competitiveness wears thin on people like me. Forgetting age, I still think I am a member of the majority when it comes to likes and dislikes in Halo. I believe if Halo loses people like me, it will truly be dead.
Remembering that Campaign is any Halo game's most successful and important sales feature, I am willing to accept change to the multiplayer sandbox in order to get a new Halo every two or three years, even if that means widening the skill gap a bit.
Halo 4 multiplayer is not all that I would want it to be either. For example, I wish we still had equipment objects and longer kill times but those two things are not happening.
What about some non-massive maps?
Or 343 weapons?
I'd rather we have the maps taken care of than the weapon sandbox. That can always be fixed. The maps, however, not always.

I've told several people this already...my box and games and headset may be for sale in a month and a half :)
