Sub Fourms hey

no worries.
Sorry fella i shall change it. I had it down as 7.00pm PST
Sorry about that Parcells.
I have now changed it to the correct time.
I have also Cleaned the sheet up a bit and added a new event.
Spazcar on rFactor anyone?
Thanks ;)
Hey Guys,
myForzaGarage is set and ready to host the event lists again.
If you host events and want to give it a whirl, please PM me here so I can grant you rights to create, edit and manage your events.
The events on MFG allow you to add the event with whatever details you want and link back to the forums for discussions.
Users will have the ability to see all the events that are going on.
They can sign up for an event and manage the events they are involved in. Simple options like will a user host or what room they will be in are there.
The event list is sortable and filterable to help you find what you are looking for quickly.
Event coordinators can override room choices, hosts and even assign points or positions to the results. If it is a SPEC series, you could also use the Garage feature to post the build and/or tune settings for users to see and use.
This is all based off the old version so it should be good to go as is but I am always willing to add or tweak things based on feedback so more is definitely possible.
I will get around to actually integrating Google Calendar to this so there eventually will be an official 2O4F Google Cal that people can add to their Google account and see in their personal calendar on the PC or phone if so desired.
Seed time lists will eventually come back... the groundwork for personal leaderboards is in place so I will get to that soon.
Anyway... I hope that this helps out. Feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or comments.
Later
Are we going to keep the spreadsheet as a quick look guide?
Let's keep it going untill we've gotten fully converted over to MFG. if that's cool with you & psyber.
I'd also like you to post this up over in the new racing events & series sub-forum when you get a sec.
No probs cotter.
Thanks for moving it for me
Everyone...just because the events stuff is availble certainly doesn't mean people have to use it.
If someone wnats to hosts an event but simply wants to do it in a forum post or other method, that is their choice.
I sure as hell don't want to force anything on anyone. Sure it would be easier for everyone if everything was in one place all the time but it doesn't have to be that way.
FYI:
I update the MFG thread with new additions to MFG for events (including a TRUE calendar view)...

Is it possable to have times next to the events on MFG?
So, I can add a time field to the add and edit pages and then to the views and even the Google calendar.
Is that what you want?
If I do, I would recommend we use GMT for the times entered and let people assign their timezone in their profile so it will show to their times.
Sound good?
It sure does
I have updated the links to the correct topics + added a few items.

Ultimately, I'd like to get everyone using MFG for events. That would take some work off of Church's shoulders that can be handled by series organizers via MFG.
OK
Added the time stuff in.
I will be important to work properly for two things:
1) times must be entered in GMT and in 24h format such as 22:00 or 03:00 or 10:00. GMT, not your timezone!
2) Users must edit their profile to chose the GMT offset. Downside is twice a year if they observe DST, they will need to update the profile again.
The google cal will show the event in GMT but the list at MFG will use the profile field and offset the time to the current viewer.
The time handling is a bit wonky on the backend and may need a tweak moving forward if people see odd times .. I'll tackle that as it happens.
Also, if you edit an event and change the name, date or time, Google calendar will NOT update. I will eventually get around to that (its more wonky than my time kludge mentioned above) so if it means a lot to have the google calendar show proper times, delete the old event and create it again but people will need to sign up again. SO maybe better not do that.
If it becomes an issue, let me know and I will work on the code or at least just edit the calendar.
OH.... PM me with some email addresses of people to edit the calendar. It shouldn't be everyone who can create events, just a few mods/admins here that can pitch in if I am MIA.
It is the only thing i cant do via code in MFG since it is a google product.
I am thinking cotter, church, proam and one or two more folks.
PM me emails and the request to get added to the GCal.
Updated sheet to show current time zone changes.
Will get this updated tonight with the new time zones ect.
Also there has been quite a few new events so will get these up.
In regards to the Event Schedule I shall only be putting events on it that are in this area of the fourm.
I hope you all understand.
April is upto date.
