Had heck of a time with my first car, '13 Mazda MX-5. Whatever I did, the braking was so darn weird; it would lock up the rear tires all the time so racing was very difficult. Tried to fix it using the tune options to NO effect. Even put on 100% front brake bias but the rear still locked up. So I tried the opposite and pushed the brake bias to the rear and now the front locks up first. Ah, ha! There's an error in the code! Not sure if this happens with any other cars. Any other cars I have driven so far (X-Bow, Indycar, '76 Ferrari 312, etc. has no issues). The problem seems to be with the Mazda.
So, for those who like to set brake bias to the rear, be aware!

Front Tires: 28% Wear (about 220 deg F), dark yellow
Are you kidding? I only have MX-5 and the X-Bow. I do have about 300k+ in the bank but have not decided what to buy next.
So only the MX-5 is tuned for now. All others, including the X-Bow are stock. Used the rentals to check out some new cars. X-Bow is not a rental so had to buy one. Atom, I think, is about 160k . . .
I'm running the classic minimcooper right now, very fun car, I see Snappy and Gizzie on the leaderboard so they may be running the vintage super mini series too. Our first lobby perhaps?
ok first imressions, i like it its forza but better the cars dont squirm around on the tyres as much, online tournie and i ran some genral stuff and some rentals the indy cars make me want a FUCKING WHEEL, it was awesome around spa. the drivatars are retarded apparently everybody bakes at the apex of a corner.
the online seems a strange to get invites i sent some out but nobody came in, i cant see where the invines appear we also could not find any way to gift a tune share only
oh and the kinnect is broken never worked straight out of the box its just dead.
Multiplayer is fucked up...can't save replays, trying to get a room together is like pulling teeth. At one point Fjosh got booted out of the room but he had been replaced by his drivatar...took us a minute to work that one out. I was getting this weird lag thing where I would slow down to slo-mo for a couple of seconds...then go fast forward. Lag is horrendous. No storefront, no auction house...and no reward cars. Yep, you have to pay for each and every car in your garage. I couldn't tune my car until after the prerequisite drivatar training so I guess my drivatar is out there driving like shit in a stock and completely untuned S2000. Oh, and day one DLC carpack for an extra 10 bucks...that was fun too. However, the six cars in my garage look awesome lurching down a handful of laser-accurate tracks. This isn't the game I remember Greenawalt blabbering about at E3. This is almost how I felt when I finally played Aliens:Colonial Marines: betrayed.
I have to agree with Jones. The race before the one he mentioned, there were 3 of us but I could only see one other racer on the track with the last being invisible. I was the only one with this issue, everyone else on the track could see all of us.
There is a good core game here. Physics feel very nice, graphics are nice, etc. but f'ck me, there is so much missing. I will not spend a cent on DLC until this is remedied and judging from the FM.net forum they are either going to come out and say "We're going to give you the things you're missing, we were rushed by MS (okay, maybe they won't admit that), and we're doing our best" or they're going to lose a lot of faithful customers that spent a LOT of money on the previous games.
I'll keep playing, albeit as disappointed as Jones.
It's true, Poidsly, you can only get private lobbies together via an xbox party. It's a nightmare.
Not even to mention if you want to fill all 16 slots in a lobby, since only 8 people can be in a party. You have to fill a party up with 8 people, get those people to join the Forza lobby, disband the party, refill it with the next 7 people, get those people to join the Forza lobby... Yeah.

Holy shit. Well that's pretty much it for FM5 then in terms of 2o4f forza 5 series isn't it? Or am I missing something?
What arsehat thought a retrograde step like that would be good for business.
Graphics - Really nice. Truly what I expected from next gen. It not just in menus and ForzaVista either. The actual races are beautiful. No jaggies and silky smooth 60 fps. Just played FM4 again after a couple days playing FM5 and the difference is astonishing. FM5 was on a 55inch 1080p using HDMI and FM4 was being played on a 39 inch 1080p using HDMI as well. Lots of jaggies in FM4 that I never noticed before. Startling, but FM4 is still a pretty game.
Physics - Kiinda close. Need more time with the game to find the differences due to the fact that im just now getting into tuning. Now, I don't know if this falls in the physics category but I have noticed that when shifting the game appears to automatically blip the throttle for you. Shifting sounds very different than FM3 and FM4. Did any of you guys playing it notice that?
Sound - The major thing I have notice is that the ambient noise is different. Engine sounds and tire sound bounce off of the environment. Sounds are crisper as well. Nice but in comparison FM4 still has really good sounds. FM5 improves on that sound for sure.
UI/Menus - Confusing. So many changes in this regard that are totally unnecessary. Probably to force users to talk to there Kinect. LOl They could have left well enough alone. Menu music is overly dramatic. I liked FM4's better. I know, most of you guys hate it but after 3 years it grows on you. I shut the music off while racing but it was on at first and I hated it.
Economy - No AH, No SF = T10 and MS trying to get you to use cash to buy tokens so you can get those high end cars you wan so badly. For example: I really, really want the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO so I saw T10 had given me quite a few tokens (what a value, had to get the LCE to get those tokens) and checked to see if I could get one. Well, I was astounded to see that the amount of tokens needed for me to get the car in my in-game garage was the equivalent of over 50 bucks. 50 bucks!! Money Grabbers!! Total bullshit!! Also, if you were a painter and auctioneer and made lots of CR that way...forget it. Welcome to the Career grind. My Drivatar made me a ton of dough yesterday, though. A whole 17,000 CR. Fuck you T10!!
Multiplayer - Haven't really tried except for once with nunderwoob. Again, menu changes that were not necessary and some bullshit where you gotta be in a party to race together. We had problems and I had to go to bed after that. Disappointing.
Drivatar - it must be too early or something. Maybe the system needs more data. The Drivatars are worse than the AI ever were. Even your Drivatars guys. I have never seen any of the guys here inexplicably brake in the MIDDLE of the corner. Stupid. Maybe it will get bett as time goes by.
Tracks - they are awesome. Even the originals like Laguna Seca look awesome. There just aren't enough of them.
So far: the game looks, plays and sounds great! When I'm at Spa or Mount Panorama I forget about the bullshit T10 pulled.
Ultimately, I am not disappointed ... I'm pissed. T10 really messed up a great game. This thing is just a shell but I have no idea whether they are going to fill it in a some point or what it will cost if they do.
The content thing will get fixed with DLC most likely. But who wants to have $200 into a single game not counting the system?
I'm over the content part. I'm confident that will be fixed.
The changes that FUCK communities like us make me never want the game. (which I may have gotten not long after the first of the year)
No lobby replays
No friend invites
No gifting of tunes/liveries/vinyls
It sounds like EVERYTHING they have done is to ass fuck us into spending more actual money. Even not having all cars accessable in free play is a ploy to get folks to buy tokens.
The only way the ass raping on DLC doesn't take place in FM6 is if people don't buy FM5 or the if they do don't spend another $75 in DLC.
Not to be argumentative about it but the content thing is a serious issue. I shudder to think what it will cost for more cars and the tracks as well. If I were to get the season pass I'd be into the game disc for over $130 bucks. That's rediclulous!! What are they gonna charge for theNurburgring? $30 bucks....or more? Terrible.
I'm glad I got the console though. It's a great machine that is early inits life cycle. I'm excited for Project CARS which will be coming out for PC and several consoles. It's got sim Gameplay options and looks and sounds amazing already. Here is a clip:
Pay attention to the exit of the pits, it has a pit lane limiter. You can hear it just before he exits the pit. Also, watch as he gets crossed up at around the 2:50 mark, that is great animation of counter steering beyond 270 degrees. And the sound!!! Looking forward to it and GT6 on the PS3.
Well, my LCE disc is on it's way, be here Tuesday.
Now to figure out the console part...
Snappy, did you get all of your tokens? I think everyone gets 100, the LCE VIP's are supposed to get more but I'm hearing they aren't, Mechberg's already stated he's looking into it.
Someone on Forzamotorsport.net was saying that to get one of the higher priced cars in the game you either have to grind it out for god knows how long or you have to buy tokens.
The tunes can be shared. Search for the person sharing, then "Follow" the GT. Works same was as decal & paint sharing. Once the owner of the tune "shares" it, then ANYONE can download it and use it. The owner of the tune gets in-game credits everytime the tune is used.
My drivatar raced in 206 races last night and won about 70,000 worth of credits. Tunes, decals, and paint, I think, follow the same pay-per-use structure. Plus, Forza Rewards site sends you credits for playing (150,000 credits so far).
Also you don't need $65 for 6,500,000 credit car. It is $0.99 for 100 credits but $50 gets you 8,000 tokens if I remember correctly. But who wants to spend $50 for a car you can get for free.
Prepare a good drivatar, put up some good paint and tunes, one should be able to get into an F1 within a week or two at the latest. I have earned about 1,000,000 credits within first couple of days . . .
Conclusion is, you can get credits fairly easily/quickly as long as you keep playing. If you have good drivatar, it will win you credits around the clock!

I was going to wait to to pass judgement, but from a community perspective, it does look like a case of....you can't polish a turd.
There's going to have to be a lot of updates to make FM5 work as far as I can see. The MP side of things being the biggest single issue. My guess is FM6 will be an awesome offering that, without openly doing so,makes a grovelling apology.

Fair points but, why this drastic change in the games structure? The community aspect is dead for no reason. I could make millions in a day in FM4 , legitimately. ThoseCR where then used to benefit this community most of the time. I could create vynils and tunes and give them directly to friends. Annoying.

Corrections. My drivatar earned 17,000 credits, not 70,000 in 206 races. But this morning it earned more per race!
For Tokens, if you purchase 5,000 you get 3,000 extra. If you purchase 10,000 you get 10,000 extra. But why waste money?
If you level up Manufacturer affinity, you get bonus credits at the end of each race and the affinity reward % increases at each level up. It's not much (currently at about 24% of the base earning) but it is extra.
At each driver level up, you also get extra credits.
So far I have racked up about 1,000,000 credits but used some to buy X-Bow and Atom. Atom, is an absolute blast (1400 lbs and 450 hp?!?).
From reading everything I get the feeling that the game looks and drives awesome but to do community things or events etc we hace been left outin the cold. Not only have we not had features that would help event organisers but a lot of then are gone:/
Yea I am enjoying the game but I can't understand why they would take car clubs out. Not so worried about the money for the cars as racing will get that in time. Today I sat down and got everything reorganized so that my X1 and 360 are both connected. That way I can play F5 and F4.
Yeah, I got them. You may notice that the menus are very confusing. I remember thinking that I didn't get mine either but then I found them...use them wisely...they are very valuable. You can use them to buy cars or upgrade parts for cars. I should not have used them for parts but I did. Buy as many cars as possible. Making CR is a GRIND in this game. They really ruined the community aspect of things.
according to worm the party holds 8 people. So to fill a 16 room lobby two different people would have to start a party and then invite from there. What a PITA!
Changes like this are the ones that make NO damn sense.
For tire degradation and fuel consumption, I ran a test using the IndyCar at Indianapolis. Ran 30 laps. At the end of 30 laps, there were the telemetry readings:
Front Tires: 28% Wear (about 220 deg F), dark yellow
Rear Tires: 37% Wear (about 230 deg F), light yellow
Fuel: Also about 35~40% consumed
Tried looking at any fuel option in Multiplayer; no such thing. The multiplayer menu looks pretty much identical to FM4.
IndyCars: What a blast to drive!
'76 F1: Definitely not as fast as modern F1's, more slippery than IndyCars, has more "character"
KTM X-Bow: Fantastic track car to drive! So nicely balanced.
All of the cars sound FANTASTIC!
Are you kidding? I only have MX-5 and the X-Bow. I do have about 300k+ in the bank but have not decided what to buy next.

my mini is just AWESOME
Just found it, you can load tuning setups from the lobby!
Anyone clarify custom lobbies? I'm hearing its going to be really difficult to set up and run series or track nights.
What is this shit about only being able to get together through parties?

Mechanics on the track, no pitbabes?
There are mechanics on the track just before the race starts. There are pit babes but they are also fully clothed in mechanic/race suits and helmets.
As far as I am concerned, the drive is sublime and miles ahead of FM4 (no pun intended).

You can use them to buy cars or upgrade parts for cars. I should not have used them for parts but I did. Buy as many cars as possible. Making CR is a GRIND in this game. They really ruined the community aspect of things.
