I was reading that yesterday. Definitely seems Microsoft is focused on the living room and Sony wants to keep putting games first and the PS3 as a set-top box a lower priority.

After watching the unveil of the xbox my sights are now way more set on the ps4. Hope Sony pays attention to what gamers want is a console to play games on. Not a sytem that can turn your TV on and check your fantasy scores. I know there is a lot more to it than that but I miss the days of throwing a disc in and playing a game and not scrolling throught a bunch of worthless crap I will never use. Pluse I am pretty hooked on playstation plus. Actually looking in to a Vita which I thought would never happen.
Vita is a little awesome 'Indie' machine. A couple good Sony published 'retail' games as well. The shit part (there's always a shit part huh) is the memory card prices. They're not even beefed up (speed wise) memory cards. That space runs out fast with plus. The vita is expected to stream games from the ps4, I'm not going to hold my breath yet on that but it has been mentioned by Sony. Kind of like the Wii U tablet but not worthless once you take it out of the house.

I still will do a wait and see,but after watching more of the X1 stuff I believe I'm coming back to what brought me back to gaming in the first place,Playstation. While I do hate the fact that both systems are shitting on my digital games I guess I have to live with that. I just want games and different games and it seems that the PS4 is going to give me what I want. I don't want all that cable/tv bullshit or fantasy football bullshit. Please don't get me started on my hatred of fantasy football. I did watch a YouTube video of a guy saying that Planetside2 will be coming to the PS4 on launch day,any truth? I haven't watched/read everything on the new consoles,but on leaning heavily towards the PS4. Biz,I know you know your shit when it comes to the PS3/4 so I hope you will keep posting info here about Sony/games. It will be appreciated and thanks. Poncho may be coming home. Any new Socom news? I would consider Socom a 'classic' franchise now. (Read:Dead) LOL!
Planetside 2 is a SOE thing and free to play at that so I would imagine it's going to be on the ps4. Would be nice to have it on the hard drive when you fire up the ps4 for the first time. I've seen people already assume that will be the case.

Here's the quick and dirty as I see it. Microsoft is making an entertainment box that plays games and Sony is making a games box that will have some sort of entertainment aspect.
Seeing grown men wearing a jersey with another man's name on it kind of creeps me out. I watch my friends gather at the local BW3's with clipboards and their jerseys and think you have to be fucking kidding. They do draft parties and shit and I'm the one that gets crap because I game. I believe you hit the nail on the head with your last comment and that is why I'm probably jumping back to the PS4 as my main source for gaming. Thanks Biz.

Don't know. The only crossplay I've heard of is the free to play Warframe and that's between pc and ps4.
Battlefield being a launch release that straddles two generations of consoles is going to be a weird release, it appears.
While I watched that video I thought how many people actually stand their consoles on their side. I never did because I was always scared that it would fall that much easier. I know,I'm paranoid.
The Sony rep was in my local GS last week and the manager was trying to get some info out of him. All she was able to extract was that the reps are getting their PS4's at the end of August. I figure if reps are getting theirs then and GS has halted pre-orders an October release may not seem far fetched.
