@Church - care to explain the tire selection choices?? I'll probably go race softdepending on your explanation.
Will let Dan (RuddyTuesday) know about this and get back to you.
allows for race strategy. Do you go with race hard with no pit stop knowing you will be slower or do you go with race soft knowing you will need to stop for tires.
Good answer Grimm. Lets hope it plays out that way.
The other clarification I'd like to know about is this rule...The track weather will be the same as it is outside my window on race day.
Church, please confirm this doesn't mean every race will be at night (which it will be when you look out your window come race time) else you can count Parcells out right now. :)
You can force pit stops with the mandatory pit option? Once I get on my feet with this game I will however be doing a full btcc session with kurupt. 3 race format, must use soft tyres in 1 of the races handicaps etc. Should be fun :)
You sure can snappy. The points are the same as the real life BTCC. Can you tell I love that shit :D
okay, I will use that. I can tell. It's some of the best racing really. I used to really love it on the early to late '90s when I could catch a race or two on TV here in the states. Still watch on YouTube from time to time but now there is some copyright nonsense going on so the guys that used to rebroadcast can't do it anymore. I always wished for a current game to have all those cars fromthe 94 through 2000 seasons. How awesome would that be?...eh, one can dream. There is a game coming out that will have the '99 BTCC Renault Laguna. Maybe they'll get the others? Anyway, thanks. Best of luck with the series.
Well that was fucken awesome! Just did some extensive testing and have come up with a strategy for race 1 that surprised me but I'm very immpressed with the differing results. Some random stats below for you to chew on. WARNING: While the below stats are accurate to the best of my knowledge Parcells makes no guarantees the same will be true for you.
Before I went on-line I tested the different tire compounds and found that each gained me roughly half a second over the previous. Dont ask me why I didn't test this on-line. In hindsight it seems stupid.
On-line stats...
1) 30 laps takes just about 25 minutes to complete.
2) A pit stop adds just under 30 seconds (27-28) to the in and out laps of your pit.
3) This race can be completed without a pit stop but not with race soft tires.
4) The left front takes a beating on this track - significantly more wear than all other tires.
5) When pitting the game "recommends" how much fuel you need to complete the race and I believe its pretty accurate.
6) Your lap times drop off slightly after you make a pit stop - this ones important.
Since there are no leaderboards, i'd be interested in knowing what sort of lap time is reasonable using softs. Since I can't run MP (I might pop in sometime and at least try Church) I simply don't know whether i'm doing the right things and have pace.
Brands Hatch? I think i managed a high 0.47 after 10 laps?
I really is going to be interesting to see which stratagy people will use with regards to tires. Im going to run a mock race later tonight and see how it goes
6. Each race night will consist of 1 x 7 Minute Walification Event and 2 x 25 minute TIMED races.
Church - How are you doing this as a Timed event? Im not seeing anything in the lobby settings to allow for this or is you plan to run a number of laps that takes 25 mins? If so, what is that number of laps you plan to run?
This will help understand what stratagy to employ.

for 25 minutes it almost has to be 29, 30 or 31 laps no? Isn't that what you found in your testing?
[edit] I did 2 practise races pitting in both and one took 25:10, the other 25:22 and in both races I spun the car which probably took 10 seconds each time....more data to chew on.
Ok after testing all 3 models of the cars are diffrent.
So the only eligable car is now the Base Model. Same spec and rules though!
Cheers!
I know the anniversary car is different (they all are) but what is the difference between the other two?...I remember the PP and HP settings being identical when I chose the prettier looking Motorsport model?....or did they just "feel" different?
I'd love to join up but I suspect that my connection will continue to be just too fucking 3rd world.
I have now had it confirmed that there will be no upgrade to my service until mid 2015. Have not raced online since November.
Way to go Britain. Forging ahead in the technology stakes as usual, I don't think.
Might drop in on a track evening sometime.
<<<<<<1000 points yay.
Tyre Selection:
Racing: Hard
Racing: Medium

I just hope its not snowing!!!!
Too bad there wasn't an option that forced you to use 2 different tires in a race like the dtm format
At leaset you have to start the race on the same tires you qualified with
CPro, can I use that points system?
BTW, looks like your using every option GT6 has to offer. Good on you, man. Wish I could run.

Yeah, I wonder why it hasn't been redone? That was a great game at the time.

Silverstone?
Spa?
That's about right Poids...I may have put one lap in just under 47 but mid 47's will be competitive.

This^^^^
Cant find settings for a timed race. :(

Iv only done 10-15 laps pushing as hard as I could on racing soft to see how they went. Not good going to do a mock race tonight and see how it goes.
Chruch - Anyway you can confirm the lap count for the race? My testing also showed 29-30 laps in 25 mins.
There is no time based event thing.
As this Sundays race is only for fun we will run 30 laps and the 7 min Qualification event!
Cheers
Ok after testing all 3 models the Anniversary one is different to the Base and the Motorsport one!
So the Anniversary car is banned.
The base and Volkswagen Motorsport are allowed!
Same spec and rules though!
Cheers!

Fixed!
I had put a few part on the VW Motorsport one!
Doh!
