Neverwinter on Xbox One
Neverwinter (free to play D&D licensed action rpg MMO) is releasing on Xbox One on Tuesday. I've already preloaded it, and will be making a beeline for it after work that day. Anyone else planning to check it out? I've played it a bit on the PC, and thought it was quite enjoyable.
I'm new to this site but i'll be playing it alot , hoping to find a group of people to play with.
Cool! I'll give you a ping on Xbox and maybe we can team up some time. Very curious about how parties and guilds will be handled on a console MMO. I hope they won't be too reliant on a keyboard to set things up, but I've got one handy just in case.
I wil add you guys tnite.
Great! If there are any lurkers waiting to see how Xbox One Neverwinter will shake out, stop waiting and give it a try! The launch yesterday was so smooth as to be almost scary...I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but no problems yet. The Xbox interface feels good (though I still need practice), and Neverwinter sure looks prettier and is less laggy on Xbox than on my (admittedly aging) PC.
I think I'll give it a go myself. Thanks for the the info
I am interested in this game. However, I understand the game is "free", but as you progress more toward the end-game, you'll either be forced to do some serious grinding to proceed or drop some cash.
If you have experience with the game on PC, can you comment on this issue?
I might still give it a go, just to see how it plays.
Darth Tabasco: Every game becomes repetitive in the end game doesn't it? It's just that some games, like Destiny, somehow manage to stay interesting, and others leave you wondering why you bother. My impression of the pay issue is that in Neverwinter, you pay to get more powerful faster. But since the game is all about climbing the power curve, unless you have a specific reason to climb faster, there doesn't seem to be much point to paying, besides supporting the company that produced the game, of course. I hope I'm making sense.
I'm playing it to fill the void until a better MMO comes along, it's free enough for me. Send me an FR if you want me to join up with you.
Mr Freeman: Also very interested in checking out ESO. Wish they were releasing it earlier though, since I'll be on the road for a good piece of June.
After playing this game for a little while, I think the best scenarios for teaming are:
Don't hesitate to give me a yell, if you need any of the above, or something else for that matter.
I am very interested in playing this. I am most likely going to play two characters, an Elven Druid and a Rogue (either Halfling or Tiefling.) Any suggestions on the races? I am going to make my characters on Mind Flayer.
The developer has never implemented the druid, which is too bad. It might be a lot of fun. Maybe you mean the hunter ranger? I've got a wood elf hunter ranger myself, and I've enjoyed it. It's a bit complicated to play, since it has both a missile and a melee mode, but I'm hoping I'll grow into it! Regarding server, I'm not even sure what server I'm on, and if there's a choice, that's news to me!
Hey y'all,
I'm having a lot of fun playing Neverwinter, but I have been going at it single player only and I want a crack at some MP dungeons. I'm playing a Half-Elf Hunter Ranger and I'm currently at lvl 22. I am ready for Cloak Tower and the Black Dagger thing but I want to go in with 2o2p friends, not randos. Hit me up.
GT: Sarcasmo Jones
I added you, and will look for you online. I'd suggest that we try a skirmish if we can, because supposedly they scale everyone's power to level 60 in a skirmish. My hunter ranger is at level 56 currently. I don't usually play this fast, but I've burned out on every MMO before the endgame, and every Neverwinter game before the end for that matter, and am determined to get further this go round!
I just hit 41 with my CW but i'll add you also i'm sure at some point we'll be at the same level
I was really hoping Druid would be available, its my favorite class and what I always play in tabletop D&D. I will either make a Teifling Cleric or Warlock, it depends on the abilities. I read that both heal, but it seems Warlocks focus more on buffs and debuffs, and heal using life drain. If that is so, full healing spells from Clerics may be more beneficial to a group. What are the opinions of people here?
I'm not very knowledgable, but it seems like the cleric is more of (but not entirely) a group support class. It can put out damage, but relies on its durability to win when soloing. The warlock, on the other hand, supposedly packs a huge punch against single large targets.
I'm geeking out over this game big time. I've never gotten into MMO's, mostly because of having to play on PC's. I'm a bit of a noob, but I love it. GT: Bee Silver, somebody find me and let's chop up some stuff. I'd be more than willing to start a new build with anyone who wanted to progress together.
Hi Bee! I've had a lot of fun with this game, and am looking forward to playing more. What kind of character did you make?
I am a Halfling Ranger, but I'm already thinking ahead to a new character.
I made a Tiefling Cleric and modeled him after Hellboy. Its a fun class!
I have a level 18 Human Warlock, if anyone is interested in teaming up, I am on mostly after 9pm EST.
I managed to hit level 60 last night with my hunter ranger, and thought I would pass along a couple of tips that helped me out.
First, it's not necessary to complete every quest in a chain in order to progress. Myself, I was stuck on the final boss levels for two of the last zones (icy mountains, lava mountains). But if you simply go back to Sgt Knox in Protector's Enclave, you can get the quest sending you to the next zone anyway. I hit level 60 with a couple quests yet to go in the final zone.
Second, you can consider skipping the group quests at the end of each zone. I skipped most of them myself. I really like the group quests, but keep in mind that you will be playing power scaled versions of these same dungeons when you hit 60, and it may be easier to find groups of your liking at that point as well.
Last thing I wanted to say was, if you get stuck on "The Icy Guardian" (damned Rime Hound killed me so many times), "Temple of the Primordial" (one punch, flew into lava, dead) or any of the other boss levels, give me a yell! I would love to give those bosses their comeuppance!
I have no idea what I am supposed to be doing, its fun though.
Follow the sparkly path to glory!
I friended everyone in this thread, except Free Rad. You know why. You know exactly why.
I added everyone, even Free Rad
I like that there are a bunch of MMO rooks like myself joining up. I just found out last nigth that I could do profession stuff, and I think i was about 10 levels late...
I finally got my first companion last night. Since I'm playing a guardian fighter, I went with the healer.
Overall the game is ok, but there is still a lot to figure out. Perhaps things will get clearer to me as I play.
Follow the sparkles!
Lou due to the gag order I can't talk about it. So if one of you guys is on can I just join you or if I'm a low level will I get obliterated if I join?
