Expansion Packs:
Race 07 has many expansion packs and are very cheap, alot of the newest mods available require GTR EVO and Race ON expansions to run
Packs can be bought at steam or raceroom.com keep an eye on steam they frequently have 50% sales every other month were u can get packs for $2 :)

Mods:
Race 07 has a huge modding community with tons of car add ons, tracks, graphic enhancements, patches, and ingame user tools.
The best sites ive come across are listed below
Note: nogripracing has a 100mb daily download limit, and the german site can be switched to english by clicking on the British flag located at the top of the page, you must also register to the sites to be able to download content

http://www.nogripracing.com/files.php?maincat=5
Adding Mods:
first you will need a program to open the zip files. the ones that i suggest are 7-zip or winwar
2nd...ive found some files at nogrip racing are a little tricky and you will need to create 3 folders within your race 07 folder
Your race folder should be located in program files or program files (x86) under steam\steamapps\username\race07\
inside your Race folder you will need to create a Gamedata folder within that folder you will need to create 2 seperate folders. Teams and Locations
The 2 german sites and most of nogrip are very simple just extract the file to your Race 07 folder and it will sort everything for you!
Now your ready to install your mod!
unzip your file and extract it to the following location
C:\Program files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\username\race07\
Always read the read me if availableand back up your files before installing incase something goes wrong
Note: sometimes the file wont have a gamedata folder if so......tracks get extracted to your locations folder and cars and series mods go to your teams folders
Must have Graphics enhancements!

Wheel setup:
This is more of a personal thing so i wont go into great detail
In your wheel profile its suggested to use these setting and is also what i use for the g27
Combine pedals uncheck
degrees of rotation 900 (but it sounds like 540 is very popular for this title
enable force feedback 100-107%
spring effect 0
damper effect 0
Center spring stregnth check set to 0
allow game to adjust unchecked
Ingame settings for force feedback,
alot of people crank the ffb to max, but from what ive read by setting it so high your actually cancelling out some of the important feelings. this is what ive taken in
low=tire grip and road
med=tire grip, road, brakes
high=tire grip, roads, brakes, curbs, engine
max=tire grip, roads, brakes, curbs, engine, vibrations other car and ingame sounds
I set mine to med and crank ffb and steering strength to 100 and leave the rest at stock settings
But again its personal choice ive tried many configs, and found these gave me the best feeling of the road and my cars actions.
The most important setting to adjust ingame in car setups is steering lock set to 22-25 degrees....lower for rwd higher for fwd
H pattern shifter: in controller settings you will need to config. your shifter, very easy scroll down to yours gears right click to unbind and the set your gears repeating till there all set
Sounds:
I watched a video @ insidesimracing and they said one of the most important data to know what your car is doing is sound settings, like fbb if you max everything its just gets overloaded and important data is lost in the mix
Max out tires, tire scrub and engine and turn everything else down to 5-10% only other one i turn up is road noise and player car sounds 30-40%
Another interesting tip i learnd is in the visual section, that if your look to apex view is higher than 10% it will give a false reading of understeer to your wheels ffb causing your tires to scrub losing valuable time. I have settled with 5%

Hopefully this will help with the intial setup hassels, and give some helpfull tips along the way! Next ill work on mods that have really brought the game to life!
Cheers
Oh ho this is what we want, great stuff mate I am going to be picking this up next week so that is prime info
Thnx m8, iam not the best writer and tend to ramble but it is what it is lol
as for the game its similar to rfactor, alot of the mods are transfered from one another, and the game is uber cheap. I bought 90% of the game during steams summer sale for $20 they had a bundle that pretty much had everything for $25 in race injection not sure if they still have it they change them up every so often. the one i would suggest at first are race 07, gtr evo and race on bundle alot of the mods need them to run.
Cool, I have to watch my Data allowence with Pcars updating once a week and the next rF2 update reputed to be not too far away but I think I may say sod it and go for a bunde deal, nowt like a new sim to keep you entertained
Awesome work Kurupt This is what I like to see
I need to pick this up again.
I have vague memories about this game. Brands Hatch and a Seat Cupra R I believe
Thanks for the write up!! You should check out Race2Play, they have a lot of Race07 events.

I just realized after doing all this i was logged into nogripracing, so please register there and download they only have a 100mb daily limit....cheers
Okay the latest bundle is crawling down my interwebs €19:95 for the full pack. Might actually be able to start playing some time tomorrow
Sweet if u see me on send me an invite i should have a gaming headset by today....most import part to this game is spending sometime setting up your wheel, and setting the ingame steering lock to 21-24 or everything will understeer :(
Theres 5 guys on steam playing plus u is 6 i might put together a bi weekly series or see if we can all do a race at race2play!
cheers
Need to see if i can get this with my next pay packet
What are your steam names?
Guess...
I played race07 this weekend. With the thrustmaster ts500. What a great feeling game with that wheel. I had no problems getting online races. Most of the time there would be at least 12 to 15 people per race. It was 20 minute qualifing for a 6 lap race. but that gave me time to learn the new tracks. I will post the wheel setup if anyone is interested. My GT is oldrustybelly55 but my driver name online is greg connelly.
Kurupt I tried sending you a FR, but like 20 Kurupts comes up on Steam. Which one is you??
Oh for gods sake I get the main R07 downloaded and try to play and it is updating another two hours at the least...why not sent the updated program in the first place, just throwing away my download allowance like that is most irritating, I may even have to spread the download of the whole pack over two months if they all do that. Grrrrr
Nothing fast about steam downloads. It took forever to download race07.
My gripe is not so much the time, kinda used to that...but no sooner does the game download than it updates...sort of insult to injury.
Right Steam installed.
All my old games are still there. Counter Strike anyone?
@Knight. Its all fun lol
Seriously cannot remember my old password or secret question. Bloody thing!!!
Ive had to E-mail support with all my product codes and username. Hopefully they will send me a link to change my password soon or somethings.
But I will be up for a event on tuesday aslong as its within the hours of 8 - 9 GMT and 10 - 11 GMT
Been playing with it today...seems easier to drive than rFactor, though that could be because I am better with rFactor than I was, as I suspected I am going to have to wait a month to finish the downloads, they are all rather big. So far I've got the base program, STCC2 and Formula Raceroom one 5th of my allowance in one foul swoop. Would love to race against some real folk but alas...unless it is during the afternoon or early evening GMT my interwebs wont let me.
theres a race at race2play tomorrow at i believe 7pm your time if iam correct i posted it on the forum
That is when the trouble starts...to be honest I cant be too sure anytime so I only race with folks that understand the situation...Track night tomorrow normally get a few in then
2 days later I remember my old password!!
Knight just sent you a FR as well as Helios
Cool I'll pick up tomorrow.
Ok so the wife has been buying hand bags and shit. This means it looks good for me been able to pick this up this weekend
Steam has a bundle going...not sure what it would be in stirling but much less than a handbag
