Unbelievable scenes after the first ever race win from JDANKERT happened in the pit and victory lane. Starting as second, position 1 after first corner, JDANKERT drove a nearly faultless race and took his first first place ever!
“Grid4 3L made a absolutely great job. He was hunting me since the start and in the last round he saw a chance, dived into the corner, tapped me and pushed me far, but as a very honourable driver he excused and stayed behind. Thank you Grid4 3L for this gentlemen like driving! I appreciate that a lot and will not forget!”
One journalists asked one of the most stupidest questions in sport: How do you feel now?
“What do you want? A short or a long answer? ….. Okay. The short one, in german: Geil ! My “Yes” after the race via mic, transported the feeling well to the other drivers and I thank them for the congratulations and kind words.
What some people in real life don’t understand: This group of people in this Seat Cup and the other series are simply great and sensitive. Even if some don’t like to show their sensitivity. One of the drivers, I think it was Ciletti, mentioned, now I can change to room A. All had a good laugh at it.
I am happy and proud, but I know that today’s circumstances were pro JDANKERT. I still have a long way to go, to be as fast and consistent as for example HLR King Cobra.”
JDANKERT’s wife said after the race: “I feel with him and I am speechless, because nobody thought, that it will happen today. I can tell you: This is it, what he wanted and trained for so long. I hope, that his self made pressure now will leave, because then ……. he will be faster! I know him!”

After the race in Germany - first win for JDANKERT - it was difficult for him to concentrate and to find a rhythm in Spain. He made more mistakes and too often he opened the door for overtaking manouvers. He drove his best time during racing, which is an indicator, that he was improving, but not enough. Each race was better than the race before. In the third one he finished 8th.
“The last race was okay, but the first two …… to forget. I will have to look at the replays, but I think I was pushing too hard. Sometimes I am fast, but my consistency is the problem. But it was fun to make some overtaking. I am better in that since last week. I have to say a thank to my tuner: ChurchPro. Today here in Catalunya the car was better, than the driver! J”
Outlook for next race
For JDANKERT it will be a tough one, because in this week there’s very limited time to test car and track. The team will move on!

It would have been crushing to take the win away from you, especially with an unclean pass. Team DBBQ Racing is committed to clean racing and take honorable loss over a questionable win. Does not mean that the Team will always be clean as racing conditions are often chaotic & unpredictable. It does mean that TDR will continue to pursue clean racing and do our best for incident free fun.

Well finished outside the top 10 for the first time since joining. Not because of a mistake I made but another driver sent me off track just for me to merge back on and get hit back off by the same driver. I'm not bitching so please don't take it that way. I have a question on pay back. Is it allowed? Cataluna was awesome racing. Had a lot of fun. Ended up with an 8th a 2nd and a 5th.

Team DBBQ Racing (TDR)'s target during Infineon IRL practice was set early this week at 1:45.000.
TDR has made select changes to the Catalunya base tune to counter the undulating nature of Infineon track and the changes have been verified as being successful. The team has also studied all of the individual corners on the track and shared lessons learned across all members. Combined team members practice laps are estimated to be well over 200 laps in total.
Due to personal schedules of individual drivers wo have not been able to practice as a team yet but TDR has a scheduled mock race on Saturday evening GMT. Several drivers have reported in clean lap times comfortably under 1:45.000 and continuously pursuing higher goals.
TDR is proud of all of its drivers and appreciates the effort made to hone their race craft
FMMotorsport announces that there race engineers have been working closely with bfgoodrich developing a new tyre compound in time for this weekends racing.
The team also announced a new contract with Boeing, the aerospace company will be supplying the team with a new aero package, the team will not take delivery of the new aero this weekend but hope to have it for the following race.
Fmmotorsport will be holding a closed test session this Saturday at 9pm bst and asks its drivers to try their best to attend.
