According to this article, which is based on a non-sanctioned microsoft employee blog post, the Family Share plan wasn't going to let you share an entire full game with anyone in your family or friends. You would only be able to share a 45 minute 'demo' with them which woudl let you save your progress and continue when you purchased the full game. If true, more message blunders and possibly shady misleading statements by Microsoft about their console. I wonder if THEY even know WTF ONE can and can't do. Microsoft is coming off to me like a shady politician running an election campaign flip flopping here and there, using distraction tacticts and half thruthes to try and appeal to everyone to get their vote (in this case, pre-order).
Also it talks about xbox live as a social network, potentially to compete with twitter and facebook rather than work with them as partners.
TANK, even IGN says the pastebin post is a "purported" employee (not confirmed). IGN also says "Speaking from a purely personal, anecdotal perspective, I heard through multiple people at developers and publishers that this is patently untrue. The understanding within the games industry, particularly during E3, was that full, entire games would be shared between friends, but wouldn't be playable at the same time by multiple people."
This non-news has been posted here a number of times already and here it is again and posted like it was accurate and from a "non-sanctioned microsoft employee blog post" is like saying it was an microsoft employee.
It's repetitive unsupported posts like these that I get upset with.

I've only skimmed some of the posts, and I refuse to judge anyone for a different opinion than mine. I feel cheated that MS was forced to go back to the existing standard. As many articles one can find saying how bad DRM is. I can find the same defending it. Here is a video summing up how I feel.
If that guy in the video really believes that the system would've made games cheaper, he needs a reality check. The only thing that makes digital games (triple A) on Steam cheaper are the sales that Steam is doing. Initial cost is top-dollar, give or take a few games that weigh in lighter. There's even a game right now on Steam costing a whopping €85 and it is not even done yet. All digital distribution accomplishes is convenience for the user and an indirect pricehike-profit to the publisher; casing, booklets, extra artwork, blah, blah is not needed anymore.
Purely judging by Steam, the savings made by companies going digital is not partly transferred to the buyer, but flows back directly to the companies involved.
I liked the funeral music and his crocodile tears and monochromatic recording. All it misses is a few crying women.
Microsoft will rise again, of that I'm sure and eventually all those progressive things will be implemented. After Steam tried, tested and perfected them and the PC-gamers embrace it. It's not the end of console-gaming at all, the demographic just wasn't ready for it yet. In fact, giving the console-gamers some time might actually be the one thing that paves the way towards progress. It's not unheard of to do one step back in order to make two steps forward...
Who has two thumbs and remembers we are only talking about video games?? Me!!! Will I thumb up a comment I like?? Every day of the week. Will I thumb down a comment I don't agree with?? Never in a million years. This shit isn't real life!!
Woohoo, another Scout fan! I miss Assault, that was my favorite map. Have you ever played Jeepathon? It was a demolition map. I'm not sure if it was an original map (dating back to 2001 or so) or if someone in my high school made it.
On topic here... Does anyone here think that Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat or Team Fortress would have even existed if it were for DRM? I mean this is a game where people keep and maintain private servers. Compare a company like Valve and a company like EA.
Valve is like a puppy. Who doesn't love a puppy? Everyone loves Valve.
EA is like... I don't know what they are like but I do know I would not piss on them if they caught fire. Worst company in America.

I know PC folks think I'm nuts for saying this, but I don't want private servers. I don't like the stereotypical PC online game picking. I greatly prefer the console version.

THUNDERCLAP! This message has been approved by DEEP NNN.
Yeah, the new Azure Cloud servers run by MS sound unbeatable. Until now MS was all, game console hosted peer to peer was the way to go. Now that they've had some kind of epiphany, they're capturing the World's attention starting with 300,000 servers. At least we know the ground work is being laid.

I really don't like it either which is why I switched to the ogbox in the first place. It was just so easy and it worked. Every game was the same.

to be fair, sometimes P2P is better - you don't have to worry about a company going out of business or shutting down servers.
In the case of some game elements, you still do. Halo for example MM still needs the companies' servers to do all the matchmaking, and even Customs get dinged in Halo when MS servers aren't working. P2P is a big part once the game is setup and running but the software is still looking for servers to dump data to.

Meh. In all my gaming years, I haven't wanted to toss back in a game whose servers were gone. Maybe Deep and I are the crazy ones, though. With his love of window-licking Halo, and my love of rigidly-organized Halo, we make a Master Chief reacharound sandwich.

...Or something.
I just had this awful image of you and me being on opposite sides of the Licking Glass.

I don't buy EA sports games (or any) but people who do I'm sure get really pissed when they shut down servers.
yeah I don't really like it when you have to weed through a bunch of private servers all with their own rules. Can't get a good view of where you stand when every game plays differently. Think Battlefield.

And, apparently, indie games.
And competitive Halo.
Halo is a quiet place these days.
and with good reason

Instead of Sony bettering themselves. They have stifled MS.
Edit. Maybe this is a little dramatic but the point is there,

No Clue. Doesn't sound familiar though.
I dont remember it either...

Yeah, so fuck private servers.
I know the EA guy at the Xbone E3 came off like a prick to me, but that's MY opinion...

I think we may have a point of agreement...I don't buy any EA games...
Frankie is in the nude booth, Deep is pumping in the dollars, and I forgot Halo existed.
