Side note, we've started to see Asian giant hornets around here lately, three in the last 5 years or so. Never seen a nest. just isolated wasps.

Apparently, these should be reported as they are an invasive species. You guys have anything like the Dept. of Agriculture?

Jones I do believe Knight meant to say "trust", if you were any good at comprehension that would have been obvious.

Of course you were probably just being a smart arse, if so carry on.

Fitzy, it's good to see you, amigo. Would you care to join the tryst? Everyone is invited, of course.

That would be "Arse". An Ass is a wild African donkey. Don't ask me what made it wild, probably read one of Jones's reviews.

Yes but "hole" is common on both sides of the ocean.

You guys are funny as hell. And now it's time for you guys to say "I told you so, Kit!"

Had multiple things going on lately. And as usual, I had myself worked up (not in a good way) to the point of panic attacks worrying about all of it. The majority of it was resolved yesterday and guess what? That thingy you guys said to me about worrying too much(I don't remember when that was)...and how things are never as bad as I make them out to be in my head...well you were right. EVERYTHING had a best case scenario resolution. I was panick stricken for weeks for no good reason.

P.S. KILL THE FLYING THINGS. KILL THEM ALL.

Worry hard 10 minutes a day and take a dose of Fuck It All afterwords.  Make a plan to remove worry you have control to eliminate.  Things you can't eliminate you worry over 10 minutes and take Fuck It All.  They say it changes brain function.  Dr suggested it to me and it works pretty good.  Just can't get lazy and abuse the Fuck It All.    I worry obsessively.   The concept works.  I get a lot of worry shit off my plate, and I have a lot shit ton of worry.

Glad to hear it Kit, I would not say told you so, but if it is lesson learned all to the good. Life can be shitty enough without beating yourself up. I follow this one rule...Can I do anything about what I am worrying about here and now? If yes, do the thing. If no, watch a movie/play guitar/have sex...whatever it takes to make life pleasant in the here and now :D

Arse is still the right word, whatever you Yanks say. Spell it as is should be and you may even, one day, learn to pronounce it correctly cheeky

Well, I live in Texas and we only pronounce the r in about half the words that really need them. We're certainly not going to go around looking for extra words to stick r's into. We also don't do the extraneous u, the g on verbs ending in ing, and we generally just drop the end consonant off of words anyway. It makes me wonder what extra work the Irish go through to pronounce things. Is glass really glarse? Do they parse slower traffic on the freeway? Have they ever been to a Barse Pro Shop with their favorite larse?

Oh, and congratulation Kit, I told you it was nothing.

Yes and no, Pass does not have that "r" sound but it is "a" soft a not a hard "a" same is true of all those other words. I do note that while Texans drop letters they make the ones they use last twice as long to compensate...I suppose too many letters confuse the poor souls and if indeed they used them all, a conversation (if such a thing is possible with a Texan) would last even longer. As for that last sentance...I have no idea what it is about. Jesting aside, I do find it fascinating the whole dialect thing and how English morphs and changes. A journey around it's native island would show many diverse dialects, some so extreme it is hard to understand...But they all spell "arse" the same. :)

This simply highlights the fact that people are ignorant to how the Texan mind actually works.

Let me sum it up with an old cowboy saying..."Talk slowly but think quickly".

Ha ha, hello stranger. Yeah business as usual on the GT, lots of very important nothings that have to be carefully analyzed and discussed, and absolutely no conclusions of any value to anyone ever, have to not be concluded...or not...

Do ya one better, part deux, getting rid of the worry relieves stress and stress is a large part of weakening one's immune system, and a weakened immune system just gives you one more thing to worry about...

Jones, I think I feel a bromance coming on, you know, in a heterosexual way. I can't be arsed about it, cause that would be wrong, not that there's anything wrong with that...

When we were in Scotland, I had to translate for my mom. Her southern and their Scottish didn't geehaw.

Im worrying a LITTLE about the gum surgery thing...but mostly about what I can't eat and for how long. I have to eat a mushy, bland diet for a time that has yet to be determined. I'm dealing with it by stuffing my gob with as much of my favorite foods as I can eat between now and July 31st.

WTH! Its Saturday! ARE you all not in front of your computers and not out doing real life stuff? I THINK NOT!

However here we're in day two of a steady constant rain...but I do have a lunch date, and an opportunity to make some more "Mike's Retirement Fund" progress while hopefully improving someones health, quality of life, and maybe their retirement fund as well. ( I hope so)

Here's a phrase I want everyone to really ponder a bit, because I know I never did until someone rubbed it under my nose as it were...

"retirement with dignity"

My first response was what do you mean? And as I've actually looked a round a bit the last 5 years or so, I've found that IF you look, you WILL figure out what this phrase means. And honestly, its different for everyone on a personal level. BUT it needs to be asked, and deliberated on. (indeed there are many different aspects to this as a reply, even for myself)

Anyway, hope everyone ELSE has sunny day today, its really wet outside here...even you Knight.

I would say that I've retired with dignity. Earlier than some. As you point out, it's a very personal scenario and choice. I see retirees all around me on the go, doing this and that but I like a slow pace now. Still one son at home and within range of an ailing in-law. Used to think I wanted to travel but the world has gotten a lot smaller for me and my interest is waining. I think I did a lot in my younger days and I don't feel I missed out on much.

I try not to be envious of others. Envy is a real life killer.

Retired 6 years now.

Parcells wishes he was retired, it would free up time to catch up on so many games I've neglected over the years and I could play more bridge and hopefully get better at that game but unfortunately (maybe not unfortunate?) Parcells retirment isn't near the foreseeable horizon, ho hum.

But I've never done anything with dignity in my life so I'm not sure why I would start with retirement but I'll look into it; Starting with looking up the definition of "dignity".

Retire? And do what? Life is too full of fun ways to earn a few quid...and of course I have nothing to retire on LOL. Been a weekend packed with swordfighting, 11 shows in two days and the pain is going to be horrible tomorrow. I have thrown myself to the ground 22 times, taken one hit to the hand, driven for ten hours, and all for a few paltry quid, but the CEO of the NIEA the folk that we are doing the events for was at one, he loved what we did and expressed surprise at the fact we were not doing more events for them...So maybe that will finally get us back to where we were for work. He likes us, the staff at the venues want us at their venues more and the public keep asking for more...Sooner or later middle management will cop on and send us out more next year. Such a stupid goddamn system, people in offices deciding what should be put into venues with no idea of how good or popular the folk are who are actually doing the work.
