It's easier than that. Here's a few options...

He grew up.

Or he changed his mind.

Or, maybe he simply noticed.

Maybe he forgot his meds?

To live implies change...not everyone "grows up" in the same direction...remember when you loved ketchup and hated mustard? Where are you at now?

Here's one I like... intolerance of anothers opinion breeds intolerance of your own...(can I get the Dem's and Repub's to read this?).

I stood around with a constantly changing cast of unfortunate players endlessly waiting for the first race to start...I waited for 20 minutes and it never started. Disappointed.

Am I a phony or a hypocrite or whatever...does not change the fact that the game should not have hookers geeting murdered and massive amounts of innocent people being shot up, etc. by people playing the game...nothing anyone says will make me change my mind...and if it's satire why don't the hookers shoot you when you try and have sex with them, why don't the hookers take you money and dance on your corpse...I think I could be okay with that.

Free you know I respect you and your opinion and Jones said it best... but, you do know that at no point in the game are you or in the entire series have you ever been forced to do those things that you stated. Is it optional? Yes, but the choice is given to the player and not forced in any way, shape or form in the storyline to progress. So really by that frame of mind it's not the game that is to blame or Rockstar, but how the player chooses to do so.

No, I don't think any of those things about you, Rad...I'm glad there are guys out there like you to balance the cosmos against guys like me. You're entitled to your own opinion and the fact that I disagree with it in no way invalidates that opinion, it may even make it more valid. However, if we ever meet in a video game I am going to drive over you with a monster truck and take your money. Nothing personal, you understand...it's just the way I roll.

A less graphic example of optional behavior might be the Fable series?

True but Rockstar has always gone for realism in the series whereas Fable is fantasy but they are exactly the same. You really can't blame Rockstar. The entire series since GTA3 has always pushed the envelope with each offering. They make money off of pushing the status quo. Everything you could do in 3, VC, SA and 4 is in 5. It's funny you bring up Fable seeing as you can contract STD's, have multiple wives, sell your children, kill your wives after sleeping with them, kill innocent's the exact same way you can in the GTA series and yet GTA is the one always having to defend itself. You don't have to do those things in Fable, but the option is there for you. I think we need to look at media as a whole. Music, I can turn on the radio right now and find a song about some dude trying to sex up some girl, ho's, money or fame or drugs. Breaking Bad gave me the recipe for how to cook Meth and the knowledge when I had none. Grey's Anatomy taught me how to perform a emergency Tracheodomy. Prisoner's taught me how to abduct and torture scumbags. Heat taught me how to rob a bank. Now do I go out and do those thing's? No. But I've seen/heard it so I'm condoning it, right? Again, no .Every single piece of media out there is in some way, shape or form an influence and just as bad as GTA. Now whether you want to admit it or keep fooling yourself (not aimed at you or anyone here) is another story. Bottom line is you can't be disgusted with one and not the other and if you are then well...

Really? Does GTA let you marry multiple women in the same town and kill them brutally in front of your kids?

This is the best part though! So the kid is orphaned right? Then you bulldoze the orphanage and make it into a whorehose. That way when you frequent the whorehouse you can kick your orphaned homeless kids as you go by.

I can remember it like it was yesterday...

/running along minding my own buisness

"Hi daddy" from the sweet homeless girl...

>BLAM<

/mailed boot to the face

I've actually been worse to NPC's in Fable and Skyrim than I ever have in a GTA. The cops in GTA are relentless and know exactly where you are, which deters me from doing acts of asshatery. I don't believe you were ever penalized in Fable for killing and such like you are in GTA.

Valid points I suppose, but here's the point, Fable turned me off too, so I'm going to resort to a time honored excuse...

It's not you, it's me....

I choose not to, period. Bear in mind, I never told you what to do or not do, it's all about me.

Parcells concurs. This respectful language is disappointing and not the least bit entertaining.

Time to derail the thread...she's all yours Sarcasmo!

p.s. Fable 2 FORCED you to kick a chicken (could have been Fable 3?) and hard enough that you got some decent distance too so really GTA is much more volent.

No, just faction/prices from vendors to be sure. I think part of it may be that GTA "looks" so much more realistic too.
