We played some 4 player with characters ranged accros 5 levels. It was quite intense. It took a bit of adjustment and we found our rhythm and began to work as a solid team. It took a chunk out of my toons durability, but it was well worth it. It was funny, the sand sharks always went after the lowest level character.
I had a blast on Saturday! Two barbs up front, a ranged demon hunter in the back, and a witch doctor with a pack of minions. Good times. I had so much fun playing D3 that i forgot to dl the new borderlands level cap.
I totally spent the weekend blasting through the game. Now it's time to run through Nightmare and then rinse and repeat for Hell and Inferno.
Now I see why the PC players are raving about the console loot system. I am all the time finding Rare and Legendary upgrades which makes playing so addicting. I can't wait to get back into the game to see what else might show up.
I would like to run through all the difficulties on Normal monster power, then once I've finished Inferno and have some nice level 60 gear, up the monsters to one of the Master levels. Anybody that is interested in doing some Nightmare - Inferno runs, let me know. I am early in Act I Nightmare, so I have a ways to go but would love some company.
Question to get a feel if I'm leveling slow sompared to the experienced Diablo player. I just got to the palace were Leah is being held and about to turn level 20(Monk)
Guess it's time for me to take the plunge into co-op. Not complaining though since I seem to blow right through any horde that comes at me and the Templar.
I have played very little co-op and I am early into my Hell run (just killed the Butcher) with a level 54 Monk.
Some of my weapons/gear do have XP modifiers and I always have the best ruby I can craft in my helm (assuming it's a socketed item) for the bonus XP.
However, I pretty much clear everything. I clear out fields, I clear our random dungeons, I clear out quest dungeons - everything. Yeah that takes time instead of just running straight to the objective, but until I switch to a Master difficulty, I will continue to totally clear areas.
I know in the PC version the more players you have the more XP you get as well as your MF gets a bonus.
Lvl 20 seems a little slow, but not if you are clearing out everything. I think I was able to clear Normal by lvl 30, Nightmare by 40, and Hell by about 50, just enough to get me to Inferno. Those also happen to be the lvl restrictions on entering the new difficulty as well.
Played some solo last night and made it into act three. My witch doctor is getting pretty powerful, and have enjoyed playing him quite a bit. Should be on tonight if anyone wants to co-op. I'm around level 27.
I just started playing this on Xbox 360. Never played any of the Diablo games before and I'd like to try some co op. I'm on Hell difficulty with a level 55 Barbarian.

what level are you now. I'll send a FR. Just started Hell Act III with level 47 Monk.
Key grinding to make some infernal machines, have 2 made. On MP3 inferno, keywardens have dropped key everytime. Anyone wants in send a FR.
I finally made my first Hellfire after making two runs through the ubers (solo Master II). The ring was usless for my main character (Monk), so I'm using it on my new Demon Hunter and it's very helpful since it doesn't have a level restriction. I'd like to make two more rings for Strength and Intelligence to use on my other low-level characters.
I'll be glad to join you for some key grinding and uber runs, just message me when you want to make a run. I already have a few keys. I know I have two from Act 3 and probably one more from one of the other Acts, but I don't remember. I generally run on Master II as that's the quickest for me if all I'm concentrating on is keys. I can run Master III but it takes longer.
My Monk is pretty tanky right now with a fair amount of vitality. If I could just get a good weapon or two to boost up my DPS, I would be very happy.
Also if anybody wants to do some Whimsyshire farming, I made an Infernal Staff of Herding, so we can go wreck some teddy bears and unicorns...lol
I bought the strategey guide because I have no idea what most Diablo III players are talking about, and trying to figure it out with obsessive googling is annoying. It arrived today, maybe it will give me a clue. If not then into a winter fire for heat it goes.

Feel free to ask questions pyro or send me a FR if you want to party up and play. My knowledge is kind of limited, but I've learned a decent amount about the game since I started playing a month ago.
I am playing this game a lot. But after years of heaing Diable - Diable - Diablo, I (don't play PC games), I was expecting better. No better than Torchlight. Not as good as Sacred 2. No where near the caliber of Borderlands. Diablo has its momets, but it falls short off other similar games.
I think the skill system in sacred is better, but Diablo is way more polished. I like Borderlands as well, and the add ons give it a bump up on D3, but at the end of the day they're both the same type of game -action RPG's which are my fav genre. It's a win-win for me.
Someone explain stacks/stacking please. They mention it in the guide but don't define what it means or how to tell if something is stacked except for nephalem valor.
Someone explain stacks/stacking please. They mention it in the guide but don't define what it means or how to tell if something is stacked except for nephalem valor.
Stacking refers to a "perk" you get once reaching level 60 and are playing on Inferno difficulty. If you kill an Elite or Champion Pack or Boss, you will be awarded with one "stack" of nephalem valor. What this NV stack does is add a bonus percentage to Gold Find, Magic Find and Experience.
On the console this perk can be stacked up to 3 times (NV stacks up to 5 times on PC) at a 25% bonus per stack. This means, with 3 stacks of NV, you will have +75% Gold Find, Magic Find and EXP gained.
The bonuses will remain in effect for 30 minutes unless you kill another elite, champion or boss and the time is extended. However, if you switch your skills, your stacks will reset and you have to start over.
Also, some drops from certain creatures require NV stacks or at least are highly recommended to increase your chances of certain items to drop.
A good example is what we were talking about above with grinding for keys. There are certain areas of each Act that contain Keywardens (found only in Inferno). In order for them to drop a key, you need to have 3 stacks of NV, the key drops still aren't guaranteed, but the NV stacks greatly increase your chances of a key drop (plus I think it may be a requirement).
Clear as mud? As I stated I'm still learning about the game, but this is my general understanding of how Nephalem Valor works.
BTW, the game is now up for digital distribution on both consoles.
I've only played on PC (demo on xbox).
PC version but it reads the same...

Surround yourself in a vortex that continuously deals 20% weapon damage to all enemies within10 yards. The vortex lasts 6 seconds and is refreshed each time you strike an enemy with a melee attack. Landing a Critical Hit has a chance to increase the vortex effect up to 2 times for a total of 60% weapon damage to nearby enemies.
So the bolded part is what allows you to 'stack' the effect. All based on crit chance, you crit to increase your stack, and then more crit hits will spawn those tornadoes only once at max stacks.
If you use Sweeping Wind, it's all about Critical Hit Chance. If your crit chance is low, the skill is not that effective. Finding weapons, jewelry and armor that have critical hit chance become extremely important once you start tackling the Master difficulties in Inferno and the mobs get bigger.
Should I be trying to finish Inferno on medium or should I kick up the difficulty? My Monk is level 60 paragon 1 starting Act II. Seems a bit easy on Inferno(Medium).

Unless you can handle Master I (or higher), there is no benefit to bumping up the difficulty - other than just making the game a little more challenging.
I posted this in a different thread, but just in case you missed it - this is a quote from Blizzard:

I know there is some confusion on the forums about how Easy, Normal (Medium) and Hard modes affect adventure stats, so I'm going to try and help clear that up. Those modes (Easy, Normal and Hard) do NOT alter Magic Find, Gold Find or XP Bonus in any way, and are just there so players can adjust the difficulty to their liking.
Once you are ready to handle something more challenging than Hard difficulty, however, those bonuses quickly ramp up. Here's what you can expecet from Master I-V difficulties:
Well I feel stupid. I could have looked that up in the guide I bought. Thanks. I ran into a little problem with my game save. I lost some crafting materials. I had 42/44 wishful essence to build my last item of a set. Called it a night and next time I played I was down 12 of that item. More of annoyance then anything.

I havent' gotten that far, and I'm level 22 -but I leveled pretty quickly due to playing 4 player co-op last Saturday.

For every player in Co-op a 10% increase in experience. We played with 3 again last night and it made a big difference.

Thanks but I see stack mentioned in one of my skill runes too. Don't recall which one at the moment. I'll have to write it down next time I play.
What does maximum stack count mean in this case and how would I know if it's at max?
