A horrible anniversary

Today is the  anniversary of the worst thing to ever happen in my life.  Seventeen years ago on this very day, one of my best friends, a guy who was like my brother killed himself. I couldn't believe it then and it's hard to believe it now. Just the day before we had played in a high school football scrimage and then the next day I got the call telling me he was gone. I never saw any signs that he was struggling but I still feel like I let him down by not being able to prevent it from happening. I think about him every day and I can't believe that he's now been dead for as long he lived.

TONY WISLON RIP

Tony Wilson the founder of Factory records , news presenter and promotor of all things Manchester died late Friday evening August  10 2007. He had been battling kidney cancer and was 57 years old .

Wilson was the force behind establishing Manchester as a music capitol and helped unleash Joy Divison, The Durutti Column & the Happy Mondays to name just a few on the world.

Thank you for all the music and wonder you revealed to me. Rest Well.

Today's Lyric

You  Form  the queue.
Try anything hard.
Is there anything else you can do?

Captialism Promotes Caring

The title sums it up rather well, capitalism promotes caring. Right now I'm sure certain readers are yelling at the screen saying no it doesn't! it permits big business and callous individuals to grind the unfortunate under it's "greedy" boot heel.  Granted , that's what happens in some cases but more often than not captialism and free market ideals will provide aid from sources where none would normally be forcoming. Let me give you a personal example:

Gig Picture Good for a Laugh or two

Well I was just doing dome picture editing for my website when I came across this picture of me playing a gig from last summer. I figured my clan and friends list could use a good laugh on a Monday so I'm posting it up.

As if you couldn't guess, I'm the one in the orange & blue print shorts playing the black Telecaster. Fire when Ready Gridley!

Bo Diddley in Intensive Care

Damn I just heard on the radio that Bo Diddley just had a stroke and is in intensive care. Here's hopping he pulls through, Bo's a true legend and the Bo Diddley beat is part of the bedrock of Rock N Roll.

Get Better Soon Bo!

My Gretsch Bo Diddley Model Guitar

Lyric of the Day I have a Necktie Made from a Rattlesnake Hyde

Last Lyric Answer. A Quick One While He's Away by the Who from the A Quick One Album
