Homeowner Advice

My wife and I seem to be on a do it yourself project craze here lately.  We were at a home improvement store when we say a refrigerator on sale.  It was a floor model that they were selling off.  I had been planning to wait but we couldn't pass up the deal.  And of course this meant that we needed to install the wainscoting that we are planning to do in the area behind the fridge because, well, no better time than when that area is getting cleared out.  We had great success, all of the molding looked good, I got all of the cuts right and I wa

New Years Resolution Gone To Heck

My plan for the new year has been to play online more.  That has to date been an unsuccesful venture.  It seems like every time I try to devote a night to getting on the Xbox, something comes up, be it work, jobs around the house, or otherwise.   It seems like the only time I have to play these days is on Saturday mornings.  I really want to get in on more games with the 2old4Tactics guys, as I've had a blast whenever I've been able to join in.

Methinks I'll have to decide on a night and dedicate it to gaming, balance out the obligations.

Damned adulthood.

Lessons Learned

I took quite a bit of time off this Christmas. My wife is a teacher so I was able to coordinate my leave with the break she had from school. I work at a place where there is no difference between sick leave and vacation, which (knock on wood) benefits me. I usually only have to use one or two days due to illness. I got a lot done this past week and a half. Here are the lessons learned:

Happy Days

I wa able to get a Wii today.  I told my wife I was going to go Wii hunting.  I figured this was the last week day of my Christmas vacation, and I should give it a shot.  I went to Target #1, and got a nunchuck, target #2 had Wii remotes, and the gamestop I went to said they were expecting about three in on a truck today.  I returned just in time to be the third in line.  As I was buying mine, the last the store had, at least two people came in and said that an employee promised him that the system would be held for them today.  I can't believe the hassle people (myself included) are going

My Christmas Vacation

I think this is the first time I have ever blogged from home.  I usually spend a few minutes of my lunch typing out my thoughts of the day or whatever.  So like many of us I have the week between Christmas and New Years off.  My wife will often tell me that I get grumpy if I don't have anything to do with days off and she usually tells me she would like me to go back to work after the third day I have off.  My dog is the same way, she wishes my wife and I would go back to work.
