Back to Robotron

So with all the TRON talk and my newest purchase of Sinistar, I have not played my Robotron cab in quite some time. So tonight I fired it up and dusted some of the cobwebs off of my people-saving, insidious-brainiac killing skills. It took some time, but after about five games I started to get my groove back. I was videotaping some of the play and wast on the way to a 1,000,000 point game (which is my standard for a "good" round) when the machiine reset. For those of you not familiar with the lore of Robotron, there is a well know bug in the game.

We Need Your Help for Gamers Gone Wild 2011

I just updated the thread outlining our plans for Gamers Gone Wild 2011 in the Community Announcements Forum. This year's event will be bigger than ever and we need your help to make it a success. So head over to the forums and check out the what kind of support we need. Then let me know how and if you can help. All volunteers will receive a free Gamers Gone Wild 2011 Staff T-shirt, two drink tickets to use during the event and a special "Thank You" Gift Bag once the dust settles and the event is over. Who knows, you may even get the opportunity to rub elbows with someone famous.

Living Vicariously Through My Friends

Well, today has been yet another fun one here in the land of frozen streets (and apparently pipes) that we call New England. I woke up this morning to find that our shower would not drain. Seems that our pipes froze over night. Having made a substantial investment in my basement arcade with regard to money and time (nbot to metion blood spilt getting the cabs down there), my first thought was busted pipes + arcade machines = TRAGEDY.

New Addition to Waterborn's Arcade - Part II: The Descent

So as of my last blog, I had the new Sinistar cab in the house, sitting in the kitchen because my friend Brian was unable to come over the night that I brought it home to help me get it into my basement arcade. To get the cab into the arcade, it must be manouvered down a very tight and steep set of stairs. As mentioned previously, this is something that I have tried to do by myself once, just once. The episode nearly resulted in my untimely demise.
